Very recently i have got myself a new Xperia U and want to upgrade to ICS but am afraid that i might face problems in ICS.
Plzz tell me after upgrading to ICS is it possible to get back to gingerbread using sony official flash tool and would it void the warranty ??
It is possible to flash back gb after flashing ics
Regarding warranty
I guess it stays till u unlock bootloader....

Thanks for fast reply but If i upgrade to ICS using sony pc companion and later on decide to get back the old gingerbread version using sony official flash tool , is it possible to do that without warrant void or i have to get it done through sony authorised service center to keep warranty intact .....

Hi guys im new here
i have rooted my lww 2.3.4 .62 by downgrading to .58.
How update again to frmware .62.with root access because lww already have ics update?
My freind had rooted neo v 4 months old with bootloader locked. He has issue with the speaker .so he want to take it to sony service centre for repair.but i think rooting void warranty?
Will unrooting return warranty status back?
And how to sony service centre guys know that we have rooted our phone even though if we unroot?
How to solve this issue to get warranty back?
Pleaaaase helpppppp guyyyssssssssssssss
well if were worried about warranty, you shouldnt have rooted it. people say that unrooting works, but then again, sony has professional engineers to take care of its phones, and sort out the issues you face. they would naturally know the "tricks" that developers can do. so its unlikely that people at service center cant know what you've done with it.

1) If you update to ICS, you'll lose root unless you follow THIS tutorial.
2) Repair the phone with PC Companion. This will erase root. Keep in mind that if you installed CWM Recovery you could mess up while repairing with PC Companion as long as I know. In that case, you should flash new firmware with flashtool.
I have flashed stock rom .62 to unroot .now can i get warranty status back?im sending my lww to service centre will there be any issues over it?
hi ppl.
I was flashing my xperia u via flashtool when i realize that the fw i was flashing was for xperia sola. (dumb, i know)
I didn´t get too nervous , because knew that i could always reflash with flashtool , the right fw again,so i let finish the flash and reflash again , but this time with the fw for xperia u!
now the problem is that the touch screen is dead , no response at all!
I already try, to reflash a dozen times, i used seus repair option too, but the result is always the same,no touchscreen!
My bootloader is locked , i tought that a locked bootloader could prvent this kind of thing from happen, or am i wrong?
Now guys any ideia how to try to fix this, without taken the phone to a service center?
If ur Boot Loader is Locked .....
Try To Restore with Sony Update Service
"i used seus repair option too, but the result is always the same,no touchscreen...."
i already try that, but no the probem persist!

So you saying that the digitizer broke?
How in hell bad drivers(i suposse is the drivers) can destroy a perfect piece of hardware?
Well ,the best solution is change the digitizer?
Sorry all this questions, but iam really intriged by this.
flashing wrong firmware can broke the digitizer, i dont know why happening this, so the best way for me to get out of this situation is to change your digitizer. note that screen and digitizer is seperated to each other.
probably because the sola has "floating touch"...
that must have pushed the hardware while trying to use it when it did'nt exist on our phone .......resulting in a screwed up digitizer
if its still bootloader locked, just flash a stock rom and get it repaired under warrenty..

Hi guys
I have my phone now, come today from service center.
The report from the repair says that they change the touch and repair the contacts in the digitizer connection sock.seems that the problem wasnt new and some st25i came out with some defect in that sock.
So that make me wonder if the thouch stop working because the wrong firmware i put in or the hardware problem they report.
Well nevertheless i have the phone running again
Thx for the support
Ps:the phone was repaired using the warranty

I was wondering if you managed to boot after flashing?
Kind Regards

May i ask why u asking?

Xperia u touch sensitivity problem.
I am facing the same problem.Yesterday I tried to put the ftf of xperia go..and now the touch sensitivity of my phone stopped working. Then after reflashing it with a proper ftf and relocking the bootloader i updated it through the SUS.and now it works fine with the usb mouse but touch is not working. So if i give it to the service center will they provide me the service in warranty or i have to pay for that??
You'd get it in warranty most likely

Just curious, making a mental list of what/what won't boot

So if the phone is generally booting and working after flashing different ROM, maybe there's a way to flash future JB update from Xperia P to Sola or Xperia U??? Replacing only the drivers of touchscreen to avoid problems like in this thread.
What about image resolution? ksonu03, if you flashed GO fw, UI and other graphical elements were properly displayed on Xperia U???
st27 stop working

Sent from my Xperia U using Tapatalk 2
no no i had this prob in my old xperia mini when i flash lww fw
all you have to do is
1.flash xperia u/or your device fw you flashed in second time after sola/wrong fw
2.flash xperia sola/wrong fw you flashed in first time
3.flash xperia u/your devices fw again
4.reboot
NOTE:do all of this steps with out opening or restarting the device or even do not take the battery out
do this at your own risk

Since u said u relocked the bootloader I think it will no longer be repaired under warranty coz unlocking the bootloader itself makes warranty void despite u lock it again

Dear XDA members,
i received a sony xps from my provider (T-mobile Holland) it was branded.
After a while i began to root and ****, but a couple weeks a go i flashed just an offical 0.73 NL with no brand, and via pccompanion i updated to ics.
right now i am not sure if i relocked the bootloader, this is important for me cuz i want to send it to sony becouse off the yellow tint issue.
i made some printscreen about some info of my sony xps.
Question 1 : is my boodloader locked or not if you dont know how can i check it if it realy is locked
Question 2 : Can i get in trouble for my warranty becouse i changed to branded fw to an unbranded fw wich is just official but is unbranded.
guyzzz please let me know
1.Yes your bootloader is unlocked
2. It is stated on the Sony site that unlocking bootloader may void your warranty.
If you are not sure just try to repair it via pcc,if it's successful that's means its locked or flash the ftf file that re-LOCK it.
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
hmm after i updated 0.73 to ics via pcc i flashed the relock ftf but as you can see my phone says bootloader unlock allowed (yes) how can i lock this bootloader to make use of my warranty .. right now its frustrating im realy sorry for that

He did.
!= mean that something is not equal, like Allowed!=unlocked means that unlocked is not the same as allowed.
Omg. Noobs. This! And then = means NOT EQUAL.
For example Roses!=Violets, because roses are red and violets are blue... LOL. Hope it helps.
Anyway, it's part of programming, we start thinking that people understand those crazy signs.

as i mentioned before just give me a simple statement if i can send my device for repair yes or no ? if not how can i fix it in order to send it for repair without anny problems.
If you lock it again you will still see that BL unlock allowed =yes
As i say before use the ftf to lock it then use pcc to repair it and send it for fixing.

Relock your bootloader via this and try the upgrade if you want. As far as I know, the .13 upgrade is available for xperia ray only. I tried to upgrade via SEUS, i get .587 build only not .13

It doesn't matter you officially unlocked your bootloader or not. You can relock it by flashing that .FTF file by flashtool containing loader file and regain access to sony services, only trackid isn't working after relocking the bootloader. you can also fix that by installing walkman mod with DRM files provided by ThilinaC..

i don't know will you get back your warranty or not if you have shown your phone at service center in UNLOCKED bootloader state, may be sony registers your IMEI for out of warranty but if you havn't shown your phone to service center in unlocked state then of course you will get back your phone's warranty. I tried this on my LWW and hence saying this with personal experience.

As far as I know, you won't get back your warranty.
1) they ask for your IMEI number while you are unlocking bootloader only, and I suppose this is for tracking purpose
2) when I was unlocking my devices bootloader, I had read in the faq section of the guide that it's not possible to get back warranty because even if you lock the bootloader again, bootloader status will be shown as re-locked (not "locked" as it originally was) so the Sony people will know you've messed around with your phone

1. They ask your IMEI not for tracking, its for generating unique unlock code of your device.
2. Where did you see your bootloader status as RE-LOCKED, as far as i know after relocking, flashtool says "Bootloader status: Rootable" not relocked and if you see in phone's service menu(*#*#7378423#*#*), it shows "Bootloader unlock allowed : Yes"
and i had given my phone on service center for some hardware issue after relocking BL and was solved.
