HELP! Tablet S Bricked!! need some help! - Sony Tablet S

Today I rooted my Tablet S and when I update to custom preROOTed newest stock nbx03 R5A with R1A's recovery! at here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020911
and When I boot it,IT STUCK on the SONY Logo
And I didn't have the rescue-backdoor yet....
Also Internel Storage cannot connect to cpu too
can anyone help?

Android version before update: 3.1.2(rev2) rooted [If I remember....
and adb shell was do nothing when using Aio n press 6
And I flash the Frm over here:

hi,
This thread, section FAQ, no. 7.
After every flash-try make reboot into recovery,
and then again try to flash (you have to do that,
because of 'prev_vendor' file which is made - and will
give error on 2nd flash file).

I have tried the things that you tell me to do,I downloaded 3.2.1r2 firmware and signed-nbx03_016-ota-120803071.zip( cauz signed-nbx03_001-ota-120803002.zip link is dead,So I didn't dl it) And I flash the 3.2.1r2 firmware first,It fails and I restart device and boot into recovery and flash nbx03_001-ota-120803002 one,It also fail too

ok got solution for you
download this fw, flash it via recovery, then use AiO to root, and then you can flash prerooted fw - via FLASHER.

Hi there, I'm kind of having the same problem.
Tab won't boot after a random crash. I can access recovery and ADB but no boot.
Hardware is a Chinese Tablet S on which I installed an US ICS firmware (I think) using AiO tool back in the time.
Sadly I tried factory reset so I guess I lost root.
I tried to flash several updates (including those on this thread) using the recovery in the hope to get a working system and be able to use AiO again but with no success..
Please find attached my recovery.log and region.prop dump.
Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated!

Oops, seems like trying twice to install signed-nbx03_001-ota-120803002.zip (with a reboot in between) worked like you said in a previous post.
Sorry I thought I tried. Looks like it's booting!! I'll see what I can do from here.
Thanks a lot for all those ressources that helped me with that!

So I got it working with a 3.2.1 firmware. Then used S.ony Tablet S Flasher to get it updated to ICS but after that no boot again.
When starting in recovery I get
E: Fail to read boot logo flag
E: Cant Open / Dev/block/mmcblk0p5
(No Such file or directory)
E: Failed to Mount /cache (No such file or directory)
E: Cant mpunt/ cache/recovery/command
E: failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)
E: failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)
I see people have reported similar problem in this thread, gonna investigate further..

Sometimes the signed-nbx03_016-ota-120803071.zip succed but I still get blocked on the sony logo (or maybe I have to wait more then 30 min for the update ?) wich is weird because I have a only wifi version (SGPT111CH/S)

When you are stuck on sony logo do you have adb shell, su access? I assume you have root?
By the sounds of it your vendor.prop's are out of wack.
Can you try pull /vendor/vendor.prop while stuck at the boot logo.
You may have to push a new vendor.prop!

Normaly I do have root access, but I'm not sure cause I never get the AIO running on adb/recovery mode

So you have drivers installed for recovery? i.e. 'adb devices' works

Sorry for the late response, I got a lot of work these day.
So tryed to pull /vendor/vendor.prop but /vendor/vendor.prop does not exist...

My tablet 's original region is Mexico and I had 4.03 R1a version without root.
Later i rooted my tablet with "Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v16" and everything ok
I changed the region to US and a i got the release 5.
This 12th december when the update R5A was ready for all regions, i tried to update my tablet and i couldn't, my tablet said something like "error code 5"
So I used the "S.onyTablet.S v1.1" by condi. and the operation was good , just one little detail didn't like me but it was not important and it is that my tablet still in 4.03 R5.
I tried one more time and the same result.
So i tried one more time (Here began my hell) .. and i saw one error in unzip process , something like crc error in system.zip file
First my tablet was in a Bootloop
Second i wipe and restore the tablet (another error) and now just stucks in sony logo
The Status:
No ADB is enable and my computer says in device manager "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

My tablet says:

E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

Try to install the zip's again and then use adb pull /tmp/recovery.log and post it here.
Chances are that the incremental is too high to flash the updates.
Your tab boots? and has root??
Then you can edit /vendor/vendor.prop and change the incremental (say delete the last digit)
Then try to flash from recovery again. If it is not working the post the new recovery.log
This will tell us which region it is looking for etc and point you to the right file.

Wow that is very unusual. That way is not going to work.....
Have you tried to disable usb debugging then enable?
You tried to remove driver and then reinstall. This is very weird.
I would normally suggest a factory reset BUT THIS WILL LOSE YOUR ROOT and you will not be able to get back without USB.
Seems the only way to fix would be getting USB to work and then using condi's Flasher.
Something is seriously messed up somewhere.
Atleast you have ROOT and can modify stuff.
How are you with code?? You could take the parts you need from flasher and put them in a script that can be run off the tablet??

i'm no good programming, just know the basic or less,
I think the same, i need to get enable usb, and try to flash with condi's Flasher, But the ADB just works in recovery mode, i'm lost.
But, is there any way to activate USB from ADB?
I tried to get vendor file by adb pull /vendor/vendor.prop
-'remote objetc '/vendor/vendor.prop' does no exist .... i did this from ADB in recovery
The tablet Stucks in sony logo and the computer after seconds say "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

I also faced the "failed to verify whole-file signature", because I installed the custom-install without -hack-recovery.

Failed update to ics.....

All right, im in big trouble. I performed the update to ics on a win 8 machine using the Flasher tool. It performed the flash of system and datapp and then asked me which hidden image I wanted. I chose the 'rc1' (I think it was called) and it downloaded the file. But it refused to flash the file and got stuck on the command 'wget' (I assume that is to pull a file from the net). I waited for a full 10 minutes at 100% of the hidden.img download (Black Screen on tab). Now, when I rebooted it, is stuck on the sony logo. It gets into recovery and I have adb recovery access. I cannot use the command 'adb shell'. I passed an my old firmware through sd card to get it back to hc, but that did not work.

I bought this in India and I think I had the right firmware of hc (signed-nbx03_026-ota-0042.002.zip).
What do I do?

Hello! I would appreciate if someone can help me! Have big problems with "my" Sony tablet S.
Think its "bricked" very hard.
Can't boot it in regular way, stuck on sony logo. The only thing i can do is boot into recovery mode but everytime i try to update with a "signed-nbox03_xxx-ota"-file it will ends with "Erohibit update as result of checking version or basa sku". I also tried with "_hack_recovery" unitll i get the error message and update with the signed file directly after but no luck
If someone can help me with how to do and which files i need. like a guide to proceed.

Try install same zip twice for your region and then use adb pull /tmp/recovery.log again

First install fails due to some really messed up system going on....? Beyond me there.
Then it switches to second partition and that fails as it can not link the vendor files. If you have a HC install for your region then this will work. You will need a rootable version or you will be stuck on HC like I am

I tried with "signed-nbx03_016-ota-0042.004"... think this one is for that region and is HC. It will start to write image to system but after a while i get

sony tablet bricked?? please help me

hi i used the sony flasher to update my tablet s to jellybean, i did this with other android devices of my own. the thing is that i read after that this update doesnt work for release 5a. so my tablet is stucked in bootloop. i can open recovery mode. but im stuck in the process of unbrick. here i send a list of the files on /tmp pulled in adb recovery, Do i have some hope or not?
