Battery - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hi All.
I have a problem with my original battery.
When it arrives at 15% the phone go to shut down.
I know is not normal, but I don't find solution.
Could you help me?

R: Why Devs Develop ROMs that Look like XPERIA Builds ? Y You No Change the Look
Try to calibrate battery:
Drain battery untill phone power off itself.
Plug in the charger and wait a couple of minutes
While phone is charging, power it on, switch off all connections and lock it.
Let it charge alone till 100% then wait 20 minutes more.
Reboot phone to cwm and wipe battery stats.
Reboot phone and wait 10 minutes after it reaches 100% of charge (just wait if charge has not gone down)
Finally plug off the charger.
Now only for the next time plug charger in only after phone has shut it off by itself, then charge directly to the 100%.
After this problem should be gone, if not change battery pack or go to service.
Flashing roms frequently is by far the best cause to get a bad calibration.

Ok, i will try.
I flash ROM every month.

I have flashed almost every ROM but not frequently... Minimum of a month apart from trying each ROM... Is it bad? Currently using AOKP by mikegapinski and the previous stable ROM i was using was Pureness Build 14 by ThilinaC.

I have solved this issue - 3 days -, now it works.
When your phone arrive at 20% --> 1% start to charge.
Shut down your phone and go to sleep.
This operation for 3 days.
Only for the first morning, reboot your phone (always in charge) and go to cwm. Clear battery stats.
Reboot, wait 5 mins with the phone in charge and after unplugged.
In the 4° day yo can charge with your phone on and you must see 1% --> 2% etc...if display shows that, your phone works.
During the day, if your charge are finishing, you can charge (not full).
Ok?

[Q] Phone won't charge to 100%, stays at ~75%

I flashed to the newest release of the Cyanogenmod beta two nights ago and my phone won't charge the battery to a full 100%... I've seen other people post this problem as well. Theirs may stay at like 60%, I saw one person post it won't charge past 19%, etc.
I don't want to flash the ROM again right now, so does anyone know any other fixes?
did you flash cm7 with a full battery? try letting the battery drain to the point that it wont turn on before charging. did you try deleting batterystats in recovery?

That was me who had the 60% battery problem. Here's how I fixed it.
1. Take the battery out of your phone
2. Plug your AC charger into the phone and wait until it gives you the missing battery icon.
3. Plug in your battery
4. Charge for 6 hours
5. Check on it again (it will probably still say 75% for you)
6. Reboot into recovery and wipe battery stats.
7. Viola you have a fully charged battery now.

Download BatteryCalibration from the android market and follow these steps:
1. Load the App.
2. Plug your phone on charge
3. Wait till your battery gets to its max whether it be 70% or wherever it stops.
4. Uncheck the option "calibrate when reaches 100%"
5. Click on Calibrate.
6. Click on Calibrate again (just for good measure) and if it says something like your phone is not supported or battery.dat is missing, then it means you did a good job.
7. Unplug your phone.
8 Drain your battery till 0% literally. (Switch wifi, gps, H+ on while playing Shadowgun....worked for me).
9. When your battery is dead, charge it again and it should reach 100%.
Did you wipe battery stats after the charge?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
you can try jug6ernaut's battery fix it might not work since its not a jumping issue but it's the same in that it is not reporting the correct battery amount left

About to give this a shot myself. My phone stayed stuck ~82%... couldn't figure out what the hell I messed up on it!
I think as a reminder/heads up, there should be a note on the different ROM threads OP's to tell people they should recalibrate their batteries after flashing a ROM... I had no idea.
Cheers!

[Q] URJENT help needed battery fall in 2 minutes [VIDEO]

hi people
please check this 2 min video and you will come to know what i am trying to say and what help i need
Note : this video is raw not edited.
100% to 81% in just 2 min
i use :
1. ics final by jusada
2. lagfreev1
3. volume battery drain fix
i recently did battery calibration also both by software and cwm recovery wipe method. due tho this i have to remain under power or other way is to switch off and charge, but guys i can't switch off my device its always ringing and my business also.
Youtube video link as i don't know how to embed here :

Calibrate battery:
Turn phone off
Charge until 100% appears on the screen.
Turn off charger and remove battery
Put battery back in battery after at least 90 seconds.
Use CWM to boot into recovery
Go to advanced and delete Battery Stats
Reboot phone & DO NOT recharge
When the phone reaches 10% charge, put back on charge.
Remember all battery start to loose their charge if used constantly. Re chargable batteries become less effective over time.
Wy u disconnect the charger when it reaches 100%?? Its fake dude. Wait till the system reminds u in the notification that battery charged!!.. Some ROMs might hav removed that.. Seriously charge ur battery from 10% to 100% for 3 HRS...

Ok everyone calm down.
My original post about how to calibrate this battery is correct, i'm using ICS final no tweaks by Jusada and i get the 100% charged confirmation when i charge with phone switched off.
I know some custom roms don't have this feature but you can still charge to capacity with the phone on, when it reaches 100% turn the phone off and charge for a further 20 mins.
This battery takes 2hrs 42 mins to charge from dead but you should never allow it to die as it strains the internal structure of the battery.
The battery icon is not a true representation of the remaining charge until the phone has been used over a couple of days and charged up at least once, this is the way all rechargerble batteries work
ya actually if i charge with my device off i get full charge in 2:30 to 3 hours but when i switch on and charge then it charges from dead to 100 in just 1:30 hours so by this i know we are not getting full charge while on.
but guys this is bad we need to find some way out this is really not good that we have to switch off our devices as there can be some emergency also, never did in my nokia, blackberry.
by the way in some thread i read this trick so today i followed this and will post my result after 24 hours :
How to Calibrate your battery ; guide by Hiroshirou :
1. (phone on) charge to 100% until it actually says full in settings > about phone > status > battery status
2. unplug charger and turn off phone
3. (phone off) plug charger in until it charges to 100%
4. unplug charger and power it on
5. (phone on) plug the charger in and charge it to 100%
6. unplug charger and reboot phone to recovery (into cwm5)
7. go to advanced and clear battery stats.
8. turn on the the phone and charge it to 100% - DONE!

Alright. I once accidently put my speaker output into 3.5mm jack instead of speaker input in my last phone and my battery didn't use to last more than 30 minutes. Maybe you can try to swap batteries temporarily to check if it's a battery issue or phone/software issue! That will narrow it down.
its a software issue only as my battery is new i purchased 1 month ago.
Backup data and perform a fresh installation and calibrate again.
It this doesn't work, it's definitely a hardware issue.
P.s. age doesn't matter. A bad battery will go bad whenever it wants to. I will still suggest you to try swapping batteries first to narrow down the issue. Try krne mein kya jata hai?
oki i am on a test of a procedure that will complete in 24 hours after that i will try to use fresh installation right now i am busy in editing custom ROM for me so i guess have to wait for battery to got down till 10%.

Xperia S not charging

so i bought yesterday my Xperia S, im pretty happy bla bla bla...
Now, my phone was branded with a carrier [Telcel] from México, so I found a tutorial to unbranding, flashing with flashtool a generic UK firmware....
First was charging normally, but after that the phone dont charge, i left it all the night and only gets to 50%, and now im putting bacj to the charger and its getting 1% - 4% and then go back to 1%, so anybody knows why happens this? how to solve it?
Thanks
Maybe your phone is a faulty one ? contact the carrier, they will most likely replace it with a new one
Does it charge offline??
Press volume up +power untill you feel 3 vibration that will reset and turn it off then try to charge again.
If you succeed to charge it you will have to flash another firmware.
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
Before flashing, do a factory reset. But I suggest you to contact the carrier
Well after all your recomendations, i do the power + volume combination technique, and a factory reset (now with Pc companion...), and the battery start to charge, now in 4 hours I get 80% LOL but i think that its discharging a little quick, in 4 hours unplugged battery is now 40% (and im not doing anything with the cellphone...) so tomorrow will go to the service and see what they can do... I hope they give me a new one ¬¬
Hey friend ok i register at xda forum only for your issue
Ok look. Before year i buy my X10i it was and it is "the perfect device for its age". I had issue with battery like you. I did research here and there and ... I solve it with doing the following.
Charge the device to its max (until stop charging). Once is charged don't unplug the charge and remove the battery. wait 10sec and put it again. You will see that device will start charging again. Do that like 3-4 times for next 2-4 days and you will see improvement (at me).
From beginning my device battery was fully discharged in 15hours standby now it keep 2~3days .
Wish that help you a bit.

Yes i have another sony ericsson (mini pro sk17a) and its the same charger.... the same situation, even tieh another cable and in the laptop... the same
Soooooooooo continue with this sadness story... i go on tuesday afternoon to give the cellphone in the service center and they told me that they need to check it, so I say ok ok no problem, I go on Wednesday in the evening and they told me that the cellphone was without failure, that its charging and its ok, they told me that "upgrade" the system version (that its not true... its the same ¬¬) and well.... that be all, I made a question ... How many time take the phone to reach 80% (they are giving me with that charge) ???? and they told me: (with a face of surprise ) like 2 hours.... and I say: It's too much isn't it?, and the women said me that for this type of phones is normal..... so i want to make a question for you... how many time take your Xperia S to charge??? since 5~10% to 100%???? for me 2 hours to get 80% its a lot of time.....
Accordign to the respondes in here i will valorate to go again or leave it in that way....
BTW the cellphone its now charging but its too slowwww for me.... I plugged it at 12:30 am and still have 30% of battery, 40 minutes later its 47%....
How are you charging?
- Via USB or via power charger?
- Is Phone turned on?
- What temperature is the Phone? can be be hot? If it is hot the charging might be slower due to battery protection.
- Aren't there anything consuming battery? What do you see as main contributors in the Battery usage?
Well sorry for take a time to respond but i wanna try and wait a couple of weeks to come back XD

- I have try both of them, via USB take a loooot to charge, and if I start to play even it starts to discharge.... x_X via power charger if im playig with it charges too slow... but charges, it takes 2 - 3 hours to get 100%, if I turn off the screen charges faster, but if i received a message or something the screen turns on and besides the brightness is almost minimal it seems that take more time to charge.....
- Yes its turned on, when its off it seems to charge faster but... well i'm off like 2 hours for all my friends or family
- Its cold indeed, right now its charging and its cold, not heat at all
- The main contributors are:
the screen... obvisuly 56%
Android system 12%
cellphone in wait 12%
standby phone 6%
wifi 5%
facebook 3%
and mcafee 2%
as you can see nothing strange
I dont have brightness to 100% its like 30% when its on and only wifi turn on
So i want to ask again to you, how many time take your Xperia S to take 100% of charge??? its normal this behavior...?

One question: which charger do you have? EP800 or EP850/851?

2 hours well it seems to be "normal" then, i will have to turn all off and see how much time takes... for me its too much i get used to have my mini pro (sk17a) get charge in 1 hour 30 mins or even less with the screen turn on and wifi & bluetooth on too
I have EP800, seems that EP850 only its given in a few markets, México its not the case

You said that service guys tested the phone and it is ok, and you tested the two chargers with another device, right?
If yes, change your charger cable with another one. Try to use brand new, they are not to expensive. And try to find some brand name cable like Samsung or Nokia.

I have 2 chargers, and 3 cables , one from my xperia mini, one that i bought from ebay (want to have one in the car for emergencies of a dead battery) and a new one that come with the S.... I'm using the one I bought and the xperia mini.... maybe thats the cause but i really doubt it...
Same issue on Xperia P
I have a similar issue on my new Xperia P since day 1. When I charge my phone using the charger, it charges upto 50% +/- 5%. It will not go beyond that even if the charger is connected for hours. If I charge it from a PC through USB it goes to 100% without any issues. Also, if I charge it through the charger with the phone turned OFF, it charges 100%. So this appears to be a software related issue and not something to do with the charger.
Any suggestions?
*My phone is currently on ICS. Though the issue existed even with GB.
Well, let it pass a week and lets see what happen, mine fixes by itself, now just take 1 hour and a half to charge it , but in the beginning was a pain in the ass

[Q] Phone shutdowns itself when battery is ~10%

Hi all,
I recently bought an Xperia Mini pro and it carries the stock firmware 2.3.3, The first few days were fine and I could use till batery reaches 0% or 1% . I recently noticed when the battery reaches 10-12% it shuts down automatically, when I try to power on again, the LED flashes in red color ( indication of 0% battery) and won't turn on. It will turn on only if I connect it to a charger and charge it, the weird thing is the charging starts at where the battery level was before shutting down (10-12%)
Please help me to solve this issue
P.S: I have CWM installed, can I use the "Wipe battery stats" to solve this ? if so how ?

This will not calibrate battery...
@OP
You said you recently bought the phone. If so, just wait. Make sure you charge battery completely and then let it discharge until the phone tells you to recharge it. Keep doing that for a couple of weeks. New batteries can give such problems
I have that problem too. there was no such a problem. My rom is jj,s 3..1 with locked bootloader on my Ray.

I hope this will be solved in few days, anything you want to add ?
Nothing more to say
same thing
i have this always when i change rom, then i have to charge it 100% and discharge to 0% min. 3 times (without interruptions like pluging usb cable just for some file download to pc).
removing battery stats didnt help, only .formatting. the battery.

Xperia P Battery

Does anybody know why there's a boost in battery % when the phone reboots?
Is it a software bug or a battery problem?
Sent from my LT22i using xda premium
mine does that to with 1.54 software...
Even worst, last night I've left my phone charging and when I checked it this morning it had 1% lol wtf?... it stayed 12hours plugged in... rebooted it and it started charging again.
Going back to stock rom from the carrier... or .544 file.

Nonsence , i started using the stock kernel and i got AMAZING battery life , it surpasses double the sustainability ...
*note the spikes that go up is not me charging , sometimes when i look at the phone for example is 25 % and when i wake it up after an hour or so its like 30 % , idk why this happens but it happend like 3-4 times
Well... Don't know why then. ..
Maybe i have a defective phone or battery.
Anyway, i just flashed again the .544 firmware, updated through ota to .54 , and didn't root this time just to check things out.
Either i have a software issue or defective phone/phone charger.
I noticed someone telling that the phone should charge in about one hour and mine doesn't do that. The two times i charged it, it took a lot longer. In almost two hours it reached about 70%.. so there is/was something definitely wrong.

i kept my XP switched off for an hour and in that time its battery percentage decreased from 97% to 85%
weird
Yeah...do you have your phone rooted?

its about calibration, you use it, it drains more, so it shows % of battery remaining like using, turn sleep mode for a while, battery will calibrate and show you more % because phone doesnt drain much

I understand your point of view but that does not make any sense, since no other brand does that type of reading.
I'm sure it is a software glitch or malfunction that causes.
The remaining battery % is the battery you have left. I've never heard of a % if you use it and % if it's idle, and IMHO doesn't make sense.
If anyone could confirm this, would be great.
tks
I also experience a boost of 1-2% when I leave the phone idle for hours..But the flickering values during reboot-isnt that an inefficient usage of the battery by the OS? Can it b fixed? It sucks to reboot the phone often to increase my battery...But it only works around 2-3 times in a single charge session..after that it drops during reboot

casca-the phone charging fully in an hour is simply bogus...It takes an extra 1-2 hrs after hitting 100% to reach the "Battery Full" state..

Yeah mate, true. Mine takes about 50 minutes to reach 80% and another 60 minutes to reach 100%.
From what i have read on a couple of reviews the Xperia P has quick charge mode until the battery reaches about 80%
The Battery can b made more efficient..the extended standby mode is a life saver,..but what's the point of not using the phone?...wish the "extra charge" during reboot gets fixed when jb releases..What's the maximum backup for u all? I once got around 50 hrs,via frequent reboots...

Android 4.0.4 may have this problem
So, there's no fix right?
i have xperia p and sometimes when i put it on charger for example when its down to 3% it starts to charge but not raising percentage but when i reboot it shows real status.so its charged but somehow percentage bugged
where are you from and what file did you flash? generic world or central europe?
normal problem
I think it's a normal "problem",
while rebooting it's clearing the battery-cache.
and it's not only on your Xperia P, it's on iPhone too

Same here ics is so bugged..what does it take for Sony to give a clean version...JB might b even worse...
it was actually weirder than that guys... the phone was loosing battery % with the charger on!
for instance, if I pluged the phone at 40% at night, in the morning i would have 1% of battery... so, not only was the phone not showing the charge going up, it was actually showing it going down! lol
anyway, I think it has been solved and I the problem was I've flashed the generic world version instead of central europe one.
tks for the posts.
