Hi
1. You are wrong here.
2.Cm rom or stock? Look under Soundoption where you can choice Ringtone and all.Option something like headset....
Maybe you forget to play and look overall in your phone? For what then root?
3. Rootexplorer or Esexplorer (under Settings Rootpermissin activat). Then go
to System/Media/Audio/Ui and change the name from this file you whant like ogg to oggaa
or whatever.
And dont forget to go out playing

Greetings,
I searched but did not find any answer to how to change notification sound.
If there is a way i will appreciate it sharing it with me.
Thanks
Vatis
???
Settings -> Sound & display settings -> Notification ringtone.
If you want to add your own notifications and ringtones, create a "Ringtones" and "Notifications" folders on the SD card and put sound files in there.

The Skype notification sound is built into the skype app itself. The only way to change it is to decompile the skype apk using apktool, swap the sound files around, repackage it, sign it and push it back to your phone. Its quite complecated if you don't know what you are doing.

Thank you very much this method work perfect for changing the notifications tones
hi,
i just thought this may help other users of galaxy ace to add ringtones and notification tones..
i just created this folders to my sd card and audio files are shown automatically to the ringtones and notifiaction tones. i am just new to this phone and tried everything for a few days with no luck, no application needed to add your favorite songs, tones..hope this will also work for you...
SDCARD/ MEDIA/ AUDIO/ RINGTONES
and for the notifications...
SDCARD/ MEDIA/ AUDIO/ NOTIFICATIONS
It works.....no apps needed....just create folders...
thanks bro!
Just an addition to the first post...
You can create a third folder for the alarms, the same way:
SDCARD/ MEDIA/ AUDIO/ALARMS
Put in the audio files you want, and you will be able to select them when configuring an alarm!
thanks for the info, but guys i have a problem, I downloaded a custom ringtone but its volume is too low compared to the preset ringtone the handset comes with. I already maximized the volume for the notification in the settings menu, can anyone help me. thanks a lot and more power to the forums.

You can try using this program, MP3GAIN, to boost up your mp3's decibels.
http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/download.php
Or this app from Android Market..Volume+ (Sound Boost)
currently using this app for my boosted up mp3s using MP3GAIN. Results = LOUD
But works only on Gingerbread..
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.TEST.android.lvh&feature=search_result
Can't work out how to thank you, OP (perhaps I'm too new) - but, thanks!
Helped me too, finally... Just had to balance out ringtone with notification volume.
Thanks to both OP and Chikanoz
or maybe you can just install yourself a zedge app/Go sms
ADVICE
BUT it's better if you convert mp3 to ogg....
i've noticed if i use mp3, the sound takes a few seconds
Hit thanks button if i helped you

Yeah, I think I got an idea. Use ES File Explorer (amazing app!) and tap on the favourites tab. Tap on "/" and then go to to /system. From there go to media (/system/media/) and then audio (/system/media/audio/). From there you should find some folders. Alarms, notifications, ringtones and ui.
Quick heads up, I'm just going off of the way I transfered a notification tone from my Acer Iconia Tab A500 to my Samsung Galaxy Ace, so no promises
And if all else fails, I have to second and say use Zedge
notifications

There is an easy way. Got to "My Files" from menu, select "create folder" name folder, "Notifications" Copy whatever music you want from your SDcard, called, "external_sd" and paste into "Notifications". Your music will appear in the notifications ringtones list in "Sounds". Just select it.
Thanks so much, this has been an absolute godsend, I can use a tone I can actually hear for my reminders!
Then, yesterday it suddenly decided to stop working The dfault on calendar alarms went to on screen notification and the sound file I'd added had gone. I connected USB and it's still there, but doesn't show up in the list of ringtones any more.
Any suggestions? I'd be so greatful, I'm going to miss all kinds of appointments now I'm sure
all they need now is a folder for playlists which i'll try to implement into my new geared series
I hated the lock, and unlock sounds, so i dug into it a bit. This is what i did. You have to be rooted. With Root Explorer i navigated to System/media/audio/ui. This is where all the ui sounds are located of course. U will see all the ui lock, and unlock sounds. I first tried renaming crystal lock unlock sounds(the one I use) with an x at the end of the name, basically getting rid of it as far as the ui is concerned. This did not work cause if it doesnt find the sound its looking for, there is a default sound it falls back on in the apk. So u will see a sound in this folder named silent ring. I copied this sound within the same folder. Root explorer names this copy, with copy at the end. Then i took the original sound file for the unlock style i use, and did a rename with x at the end, that way i still have the original safe. Then i renamed silent_ring-copy, to crystal_unlock and crystal_lock. Now i have no goofy sounds when i lock, and unlock my G2. Works great...

Funny Also, the lock/unlock sound is different for each Screen Wipe Effect for the lockscreen. But, I am with you, silent is better.
I guess to save face, this could be used for custom lock/unlock sounds! LOL!!!!!!

Any app that lets me set my own unlock/lock sounds?
Are these files in a format that I can use for notifications? I want to use the Crystal unlock sound for text notifications.
Hello, Iam the owner of a Verizon (USA ) Samsung S6 Edge Plus...
Model Number: SM-G928V
Android Version: 5.1.1
Base Band: G928VVRU2AOJ2
please any can tellme where its the notification sounds on my phone? because I try to add new notificacion sound but the phone don't givme an option to select a mp3 file ( like when I add some tone ring )... I try to find the folder where its the notifications sounds, but I cant find it...
I now the notifications original sounds its a .ogg files, but in all my samsungs olds phones I can add some notifications sounds like mp3 files.... please any help on this ?
thanks
I had the same issue with this phone. I found the easiest way was to use the Ringdroid app. I opened my file, then saved it as either a ringtone or notification (or both). Then it was inserted into the Samsung listing for notification & ringtone sounds. Tried importing my original ringtones, but like you, couldn't find the folder where they were located.
I use Ringtone Maker from playstore to create custom notification sounds from my music files. It lets you edit the song and you can save it as the default notification sound or ringtone.
thanks both for your help on this.... I use today the two apks....
hi folks,
is there any way to change the volume of the bootsound (NOT DELETE)?
because the bootsoundsound is extreme loud!
i use this rom, but think the settings would be the same like any other miui...
SMiui Xiaomi.eu MIUI stable-V7.2.3.0.LHMCNDA
second question, is there a way to use bootanimations from other devices, for example from samsung?
i ask this, because there is an easy (noob) tool to create custombootanimations (for Samsungdevices)...
or maby there is a similar tool for miui!?
thanks for help
hi again,
for the sound problem i found a solution...or lets better say a work arround!
you just have to reduce the replay gain with a software like easy cd audioconverter or mp3 gain mp3 gain for me worked better but you have to convert the file to mp3 an then back to ogg (maybe miui will accept mp3 files too as bootsound, but i didnt have check this so far).
i attached 2 sample files to show the difference before and after, if you like this you can use them...
here is the explain how to make it work for those dont know how (never mind i am allso a noob: i used rootexplorer for this but you can use any of your favorit rootbrowser...
just copy your favorite sound file to root/system/media/ui and name it PowerOn.ogg, then go to theme manager/advanced settings (this option is a little bit hidden) and activate bootsound by selecting search and find the soundfile there where you placed it before...thats it
allso i am working on a solution for custom bootanimations, if you are interested you can check this treat at xiaomi.com
http://en.miui.com/thread-270016-1-1.html
if i find something i will post it allso here of course
