Airplane mode. - TouchPad General

So I was looking at better battery stats plus and saw that cell standby was taking lots of battery. I still get 1 day worth of tablet use over charge. But I turned on airplane mode and then voula. WiFi still works perfectly but my cell standby and has so far been cut from 100.00% to 71.00%.

Are you talking about your nexus 10 or touchpad
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using Tapatalk 2

Touchpad, it says nexus 10 because of the Netflix build.prop tweak.
Meant to repost about this, it worked on the latest jcscullins without gyro or battery mod. But when I added either it just turned WiFi off when in airplane mode.

Sleep death

Anyone else getting sleep death after 2.1 alpha, if not what r your settings?

Use SetCPU to set your speeds to 486mz while screen is off. Mine hasn't slept on me for 2 days.

Also keep it in airplane mode but with wireless on to avoid battery drain from cell standby.
I get the "SOD" almost whenever it locks, either manually or on it's own. I didn't have this problem before Alpha 2. I wonder if it has something to do with what's installed.
Plus I have tried the SETCPU trick and that didn't help.

I have CPU set at 595 MHz when screen off right now, all lower where not working trying this setting now.

But if it's not sleeping, won't the battery drain be huge? (I just got it a few seconds ago, so I can't comment on it yet...)

HP Sleep of Death Fix with APP Softlocker
I used softlocker, and its worked like a charm. Just downloaded it from the market (free version, will buy other version once tested for two days), set it at boot, and works...
After day of using soft locker I unplugged the tablet at 8:00 am and at 4:00 the battery was at 83%, But have not gotten one sod, battery usage was 53% for soft locker app.

How do you enable airplane mode without disabling wifi and/or bluetooth? I'd love to disable the processes that care about phone features, but I don't want to screw with my wifi or BT (keyboard).

Enable Airplane mode. Then turn on Wifi & BT individually.

Are anyone else's temps way down with .215?

This build is amazing. Signal overall is much improved. I would see drastic battery drain and hot hot temps when using WiFi hotspot, but now it's not very noticeable at all. I can stream MOG and tether my Nexus 7 to WiFi at the same time for hours and hours on end without worry. I'm a happy camper with my Maxx! Not that I ever doubted this phone

JuiceDefender on Note 2

Anyone else using it? I've used it since OG Droid, and it's always the first app installed on any phone I get. It claims to be giving me 2.01x battery life, and with any other phone I believed it but I'm seeing people post 2 days no charge and I get about 1.25 days with very heavy use, unless I'm at work (12hr shifts 4 days a week). Thoughts? Some people claim it's junk, and I'm not so sure with a battery as big as ours we need it, or if there is a better alternative? I mean we already have a Battery Saving Mode...

I'm using it,I think if you configure it with the right settings it can save you a good amount of battery.

I personally don't think it's needed on this phone because how long the battery already lasts and I like my smartphone to stay smart. But on my lg spectrum I used deep sleep battery saver, it was pretty good.
Also on a side note time up isn't as important as screen time. I could get days if I didn't use the phone, but if you are always on it 12 hours is pretty good
Sent from my SCH-I605 (AKA NOTE 2)
I think battery saving apps are obsolete now because phone's are becoming more battery efficient and batteries are becoming larger (Mah). I don't see any need for a battery saving app anymore especially with this phone. Just uninstall it and some more RAM

I use to use that app with my gnex and evo 4g but, I leave 4g on and gps and still after 14 hours have 50% battery left... this phone is a ogre!!!

Qualcomm Snapdragon BatteryGuru

Qualcomm released an app for anyone with Snapdragon that will extend your battery life and monitor what you do to better control the processes. I just downloaded it and it is in "Learning mode" so I will be excited to see how much savings I get when it has learned and starts saving.
http://androidcommunity.com/qualcom...uru-aims-to-boost-your-battery-life-20130528/
Installed and also in learning mode. Hopefully this helps even more! Thanks for the info.

Hmm im gonna try it out.
IDK if it does anything. I've had it for a while now and I use it along with 2x Battery. I get 14-16hours out of my DNA for what it's worth or roughly 3 hours screen time.
I'm pretty sure if u got notification toggles and turn on/off WiFi and data connections manually you'll get the same results if not better
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I didn't like it myself. It kept screwing around with screen brightness. I like my on auto brightness., I think it kept putting it on low. And it kept turning on my wifi and searching for connections. Just my 2 cents.

I didn't like it, it kept turning on my wifi when I didn't want it on and I don't think it did anything for my battery at all.

I've been using it for a month and definitely helps. You can go to settings and turn the wifi control off so the app will have no control of it.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Well, I feel it does its job well. The point is to be efficient as possible depending in usage. No matter what, it isn't gonna give you hours of extra on screen time. I feel its main purpose is to manage the battery better when ur NOT using ur phone. So far, I haven't used my phone much other then to read some texts, emails and xda and this is what my battery looks like right now.
Best day Ive had was a 21 hour day with moderate usage (YouTube, texting, emails, minor gaming). That was after letting batteryguru was out of learning mode.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Downloaded yesterday and I'm still in learning mode.
I turned off WiFi control as I toggle it on/off as I need it throughout the day, so I feel this would be a little redundant.
I like the concept of the app and hoping it helps out; once I'm finally out of learning mode that is.

Last day without Battery Guru I had 7% remaining after 15 hours and 53 minutes. First day post-learning mode, I had 13% remaining after 15 hours and 49 minutes with 3 hours and 3 minutes of screen on time. Sadly, I didn't have the correct app to determine how much screen on time I had on the first measurement, but I use my phone about the same way every day.
My biggest complaint with Battery Guru is it forces WiFi on when I'm on the road. I'm not seeing a big enough improvement to get excited about and think that me just toggling WiFi on my own will be just as effective.
On a side note, my daughters phone had 3 hours of screen on time and her phone lasted only 11 hours. She has the Droid Razr HD which comes with a 2530 mAh battery whereas the DNA only has 2020 mAh. Quite impressive for the DNA especially considering the larger, true HD screen and quad core processor.

You can turn off Wi-Fi management by going into the app's settings. Learning mode came off for me yesterday and my God has it made a difference. You know I forgot to charge again lol.

Simple answer...yes, you will need to download the app again and it will go through a learning period.
Perhaps I'm blind but in the usage statistics I don't see screen on time. I know its gotta be there.

Battery

Hi guys, im getting bad battery life on this phone. Surfing the net and listening to music for about 40mins uses 30% of my battery. Is this because my initial charge was not 8h?
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
No, try turning off NFC. Bluetooth, put stamina mode on, put restrict performance on, auto brightness.
If this doesn't work you have a defective unit
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
Will try. Thank you for the suggestion
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
Don't do that stuff, dude. Stamina Mod+Restrict Performance ruins the phone. You might as well buy a Moto G. Just give it a few days, and see how it goes.

Go into settings->power management->battery usage and tell us what the top three battery users are. The top should almost always be your screen. If something else is at the top then you know what your problem is.
Try to re-install the latest firmware I guess?
Can someone fully explain to me stamina mode
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
Stamina mode is something that extends your device sleep time by disabeling services when your screen is off
it contains features like restrict performance to even furthur your battery
