[Q] AT&T Multiple Texts and Delayed Texts??? - HTC One X+

Have had this device since the day it came out and not sure if i noticed this issue right off the bat but the last month or so it is now almost an everyday problem. I will get a text message say at 2pm. Then again say at 2:30pm will get a new text message notification, open it and see it is the same exact text message i got at 2pm and it is also time stamped at 2pm even though it is now 2:30pm. This will happen maybe 3-4x all within a 4hr window. This will happen regardless what network the sender is on, can be ATT, Verizon, etc. No real pattern to this issue, i live in an area with literally full 4g network everywhere.
Also i will sometimes get delayed text messages. Say it's 1pm and i get a new text message notification. I check it and the time stamp on it is 12:40am even though that was 20min ago and i'm just now receiving the text message even though this whole time i was in full 4g network?
I don't know if this is a bunk device or maybe bad sim card. Spoke with AT&T numerous times and I swear I don't know where the hell they find these people as they can't find their thumb from their a$$hole it seems like they are so clueless. All they want to do is master reset, that doesn't work then they offer to mail me a replacement device. I flash roms so that in itself i would think in a way is a master reset.
Is there a way maybe to check my network settings on my device and if so what should they be for AT&T in the USA? I use Elegancia roms using the ATT network settings he has in place and no one else is having this issue which makes me think maybe it's a bad sim card or just bunk device as this issue seems to get worse by the day now. First i happened maybe twice a week, now it's more like twice a day.
I can easily get a replacement phone but really want that as a last resort. Not looking forward to unlocking, rooting, etc all from scratch again unless there's no other option and i really do have a bad device.

I have had the same issue, it was pretty bad on stock as sometimes I would get a message hours later as well as multiple messages. Using the Elegancia ROMs has somewhat helped, but it still happens from time to time.

I've experienced this as well; running completely stock and on various roms. I noticed it was really bad if I used any 3rd party messaging apps.

+1 here

This has just started happening to me within the past few days on stock. So far it's only been with 2 or 3 text messages, but it's interesting to see that I'm not the only one having this issue. Could it be a carrier issue?

My understanding and this could all be BS is that android doesn't have a full good push system. Instead it is a pull system based on periodic checks to the provider carriers.
So if u are scheduled to check text at 1230 and get one at 1201 then u don't get notification until 1230.
I think u can always change the frequency of your checks but it's just more data usage or battery drain.

That's not how it works, atleast not that long
Your phone typically checks for texts/calls every 3 seconds not every 30 minutes
There used to be a setting you could access to change this, but I know the default is 3
The problems these people are having are network issues
Slithered from my HTC One X+

I've had this issue and engaged ATT about it extensively. They swear up and down it's not a network related issue or a issue with the rom. They replacement my phone with a refurb, still same issues. They just sent me a replacement sim card (which I just got today but have yet to pick it up from the front office).
Doubt any of this will fix the issue. But yea, it sucks.

Well seems very odd unless nation wide ATT is doing major network changes. I'm in LA California unless all u live here too with the same problem but unlikely. I've been with ATT since 2004 and had many smartphones since and never had this issue until this device about a month after buying it.
I'm going to try the SIM card replacement and see what that does. If no correction then Mayne I can prolong this til the HTC One comes out and get my phone replaced with that! Wishful thinking but seriously WTF?

May I ask if you are using the HTC message app or a 3rd party app? Or both at the same time? Also is this issue the same for all your contact sending you a text? Or just some of them?

Using stock htc messaging. It's random, really no pattern. Sometimes it happens when texting my wife, sometimes not. Same with other contacts. Even when AT&T sent me a test text it was sent twice as a duplicate.

Have you try to eliminate completely the HTC Message app (you can do so via Aroma or with TB), and installing a third party app to verify if this issue is still occurring?

I guess it was a joke thinking a new SIM card would fix the issue. As soon as the ATT rep put the new SIM in, about 10 minutes later get the ATT text. Then 15min later get a new text message and what do u know, it's a duplicate!
Only other thing I can think of is doing a full master reset, new install of the Elegancia 4.4 Rom with full wipe. This is what I usually do but then restore my data via TWRP Data backup. This time I'll try the above WITHOUT doing the data restore and see if that makes any difference. If not then I guess it's device replacement time.
I don't see how it would only be the HTC messaging app as many people use it on the same Rom as me and/or same android OS version of me and they are not having this problem.
Pretty convinced it's maybe the antennas in my device went bad or maybe my data restore is causing network complications?
See screenshot and see time above and time received second text, duplicate still.

I remember having issues long time ago with another device practically as yours and the issue was effectively an issue with the restoration.
As for the third app choice, well, it's a way of testing if something could be conflicting with the HTC Message app. Your choice for not testing.

Just wanted to test out other things first and maybe that last as I feel that's the last thing that could he causing this. So far after a full wipe and fresh Rom install, no duplicates yet. Tested multiple people all day for better testing and no issues yet. Will report back...

Same thing happens to my HOX+... 100% exactly as described. I'm using stock Rom and stock messaging app (Rooted and TWRP recovery).

Have u found any fixes? Surprised all these people coming out the wood work with the same exact issue as me but I'm the first to post about it.
Update for me well all went well for about 5 days then boom, freakin dupes came back. I did a fresh install, full wipe, zero restore, all from scratch. I was so happy thought it was fixed then the other day when the wife texted me it came in 3x that day all at difference times hut of course with original time stamp.
Only other thing I can think of is to get my device replaced but just hate to go through the whole unlocking process again and transferring music, etc onto new device and zagg screen replacement... Damn HTC, what r u doin?!?

i know CM10.1 aint stable yet, but you can use it for sms n stuff, can you see if this happens on that rom for me please (CM10.1 ATT/TELUS)

I used your AT&T CM 10.1 ROM for 3 days and had no SMS/MMS issues at all. I did add a custom APN with the help of tweaker. The new APN allowed the MMS messages to download faster. The ROM is smooth and fast. I needed my phone app so reluctantly I had to revert back to a sense ROM. Thanks for your hard work on this device.

No doubt it's a network issue. I live in Alaska and have the same problem along with everyone else I know who has att, including people with iphones.

A Few Thoughts As I Return The Photon

Had the Photon for 29 days, installed the Maintenance Release 5 and continued to have the no audio on calls and random reboot issues. Based on the actions of the phone the last few days that I had it I came to a few conclusions.
When the no audio happened if I hit the mute button the audio would be there and I could hear the call just fine. I noticed that after a no audio call if I attempted to go into call history and click the person who just called and attempted to call the phone would always reboot. This lead me to conclude ( and I would appreciate it if someone who post some thoughts ) that no audio indicates the software has encountered problems and is no longer stable. The actions of the buttons are reversed and the system is on the verge of crashing. Any further action after the call will result in a system reboot. This leads me to believe the OS is prone to not being stable for whatever reason. Why this occurs is unknown.
I noticed that when the phone was flat on my desk, sometimes hooked up to power source, sometimes not, the phone would reboot on it's own. This indicated that even without user intervention the phone OS would become unstable, crash and reboot. What causes this is unknown.
I have since returned the phone to Sprint for a full refund with no restocking fee ( I suspect their technician was able to duplicate the no audio).
While the phone was fast, had a lot of storage space, great reception and great clarity the unstable OS caused me to return it.
Sounds like a hardware problem. I have yet to have a reboot and after the update, I have yet to get a muted call.

There are two problems at hand here, user error and malfunctioning hardware. You should know full well that if you are having issues such as rebooting upon laying the phone down with a charger that something isn't soldered properly in the phone. Swapping it would alleviate this issue. With the final build (CM5) being available in SBF form, along with two very stable and powerful roms, very few people are having any issues of updated properly. It's unfortunate to see another user put this phone down instead of working through the issues, but I guess android isn't for everyone.

User error? Really? Note I said I had the CM5 installed and still had the no audio issues. And since when does having the action of the mute button on a call being reversed happen as a result of something not being soldered properly? Note that the reboot happened when the phone was on the charger and when it was not. When it was laying flat and when I was holding it upright and looking through the contact list. I like Android just fine. Had an Evo for a year but upgraded because it lacked internal storage space. I plan on going to the Galaxy SII in a few weeks and last I read that's an Android phone.

What he means is that you didn't even bother to have sprint replace this phone for you. You settled, thinking it was a software problem. Which any user here would most likely come to the conclusion after reading your post that it wasn't. Random reboots like that would have sent me back directly to the sprint store demanding another phone. Companies make bad batches, and stores get those bad batches. The fact is you just settled for a phone that was working sub par. I have gone through 3 phones, all with different problems, but I don't settle. They give you that 30 days for a reason.
Would you do the same thing had you went to best buy and bought a computer from them that did the same thing? Random reboots, no sound, etc etc....
Mine as well as most others phones on here work perfect, maybe the random force close from an app or something, but I don't get any muted calls, random reboots, and if I did you better bet I wouldn't settle for it.
Good luck to you in Samsung land.

funny...Ive had no problems before or after the ota...the phone is stable as a rock...call quality is outstanding, no dropped calls like my old EVO..but im not sure the issues is random hardware problems per phone
This is killing me as I real think the photon hardware wise is one the all around best out...
Moto need to get off over their attuned about software... officially unlock the dam phone release the dam Kernel asap and let great independent software talent write and fix bugs for great hardware and so so code
Just do not think Moto puts the time in on thier code that then need too...
The only problem I've had with this phone was no audio a few times. After updating to 45.2.5, that problem has now been resolved. Photon is running like a champ.

I did get a replacement phone and I experienced the same symptoms on both of them.
I do have information that confirms that Motorola was aware of the reboots and that MR5 was supposed to fix this. I did have MR5 on here.
I had an atrix before having this and put Alien Build 4. I was floored by the battery life and the ROM and device was rock solid.
I have a brick at the moment. This became a brick after rebooting loop similar to not wiping the davlik cache before a boot. It was stock. I was going to unlock and root to see if it helped the battery life.
I had been more excited about this phone than almost any other one. I have been a beta tester of Motorola devices, but I believe this one may have been pushed out the door a little too early.
I am glad people have this working well and I am glad for them. I will still love this phone even though I have experienced issues. It easily could have been a bad batch that is triggered by certain circumstances.
After the update - my silent call issue was 100% fixed. Maybe you need to a do a factory reset? I do that after all major OS updates.

I never had anything I couldn't recover from ODIN even a partial flash(or even if it reset before it could finish flashing). I rooted both Epic 4G and Droid Charge with Odin. Just flashed a couple of Samsung Moments last week but they didn't require ODIN.
My phone will boot sometimes so it won't even stay booted. Doesn't matter what I do to it.
Djspinister - It will boot but not stay booted, it just reboots. I haven't ever had a bad flash that I couldn't recover from. I have flashed Windows Mobile devices, iOS devices that were eventually jailbroken. I have flashed several times right before going out to eat dinner only to have it fully recovered before the food came out. This just has to be a bad phone. It is a brick phone.

After reading on numerous other sites of people on their 3rd or 4th Photon and still suffering from the same problem I decided not to bother. As for Samsung, before the Evo I had two Samsung products that were absolute rocks for me. Solid with no issues and performed well. Using a Samsung Instinct right now.
My Photon is 100% trouble free. Calls are clear, battery lasts, etc.
Te only real issue is that I do not love the bluish tint on the LCD. Anyone know how to alter the gamma?

I upgraded from an EVO on Friday. My new Photon began crashing and doing the no audio on Saturday. I exchanged it at the Sprint store later that day and have had no issues with the second Photon. I really like the Photon much better than the EVO.
Has no one else been told in the Sprint store that you can only exchange once and then you're stuck with the device???? They told me they only allow future exchanges through warranty (i.e., Motorola will ship me a new one...no in-store exchanges).
Is this just wrong information?

ROM to Fix Random Reboots

Where any of you experiencing random reboots until you flashed a particular ROM? If so, which one solved the problem for you? I'm getting at least one random reboot per hour and it is even happening when I am talking on the phone. This is NOT acceptable!
I'm on my 2nd MoPho and I don't have confidence that another replacement will solve the issue.
Sometimes its an app that causes the reboots...i would freeze apps one by one until you find the culprit. Try it out!

You might want to start first with the apps that are running, it's really all I can think of, but having so many reboots is ridiculous...if anything i would switch it out for a new Photon...then if it happens again, you might be more assured that its an app thing.

That's just it. I don't really have any apps running. I haven't used the phone since last night and have received numerous reboots since then.
I think I'm going to attempt another factory reset and flash the latest SBF. I'll wait a while and if the reboots continue to occur, then I'll try joker's Skinny ROM. If the reboots still occur, I'll try a 3rd replacement phone.
Best of luck! I hope out all works out...this phone is a monster!

Did you do the MSL # reset? Sprint can guide you through it if you can't do it yourself.
##72786# [followed by your MSL code] clears all voice and data programming, then forces a handsfree activation
I have had no heat issues or reboots in about 30 days.
You can research this issue, but it will work.

WOW! I've never heard of this solution. Where you getting many random reboots before performing this procedure? Should I do a factory reset too? I can't wait to give this a try.
Also, is it possible that I just have a battery with bad internals? I replaced my launch day phone due to the same exact issues I'm experiencing with this refurbed replacement.

For me, my phone worked perfectly when I had zero installed apps on it. Therefore, I knew it was something I was doing/installing that was causing the problem. I started with the apps I used the most and installed them one at a time leaving a day between each install to see the effects. Everything was working well until I installed EE then within a few hours, my phone did a RR. Therefore, I knew something was up with EE. After doing some research, I found out that other Motorola phones where having the same problem with EE. I contacted the dev and he fixed it pretty quickly. Now, EE is the best email app for sure!

[Q] how many Titans random reboot?

I wonder how widespread the random reboot problem is with the AT&T Titan? I have only had one for 3 days and on my second device, which is also rebooting. I did a hard reset on the second phone but I am not confident that will do anything.
So how many people out there have this problem?
How much space have you used up on your device? I think there is a memory management bug on some earlier release phones that have a problem like this.
If you go over to this thread

You will see that this is a known problem on some devices. Also confirmed by an HTC technician that this is a known issue on this website somewhere.

thank you for the reply but I just got the phone. Nothing installed on the device yet.
I have experienced it. Maybe once a month.
The issue is catching it when it does. I've seen it happen 2or 3 times.
Other times I notice my titan vibrate in my pocket thinking I have a txt or email, and when I finally get a chance to check, there is nothing new, and I notice I have no multitasking going on....

after my hard reset it has not re booted in at least two days. I guess it is a common occurance and most people dont realize it. Not sure if it is something that I should put up with or return it and get the Titan 2 or Lumia 900 when they are released. I dont have LTE in my area, so I wonder how battery life is going to be, or if it would be worth it.
Never had one yet on mine.
Well I had my first reboot since the hard reset. This makes it twice since the 15th.
If you look led through the threads I had the same problem with my first Titan, it happens regularly but isn't supposed to, my guess is a hardware flaw in some because I got mine replaced at at&t and have not had a single reboot since!!! :-D
Hope it helps!!

I did that already, the only thing is I was told that if I exchange it one more time, I would have to rely on warranty services from there on out. So if it happens with the third phone...........SOL ...Still contemplating Titan 2 or Nokia 900 if they are released on the 8th. I heard some one had this problem and was caused by the htc apps pre installed......thinking about it now the day it re booted I updated the HTC apps.
Definitely try the final exchange, it could potentially fix the problem man!

Mine has never rebooted.
My Titan reboots constantly probably a couple of times a day. The only way I really know is that I use a bluetooth headset which notifies me when it is disconnected and reconnected. It is really anoying.
I have untill the 11th to decide what to do. Honestly I am either going to exchange it on the 8th for the Titan 2, or just return the stupid thing and cancel my upgrade untill I know what other people are experiencing with the phones due out on the 8th.

I am just going to cancel the upgrade and hang out a bit. See what happens. I need to be more patient anyway.

Need Help...Note 2 Keeps Freezing

I'm hoping you guys can help. Been a long time lurker here and am going to be buying my Note 2 at the end of the month. But my wife purchased one the day after Christmas, and since the new ota update in January, her N2 has been freezing a lot. Sometimes you can get it to turn back on, but than it freezes and reboots on its own. Most of the time she has to do a battery pull to get it to come back on. It happens about 5 times a day.
Verizon had her factory reset it, but it still has the persistent problem. Best Buy took a look at it and they couldn't figure it out. She is hoping we can figure it out before we have to send it back in, which would suck because she would be without a phone that she needs for work for a week. Not to mention Best Buy and Verizon stated that if it does need to be replaced, that it would be with a refurbished one. Which I am not at all too happy about that. Hoping you guys can help me out.

I'm thinking it's an app she has installed most likely also power saving modes not on is it? Tell her to root it and all her troubles will go away

I tried to get her to root, but this is her first android device, she's had nothing but the Iphones prior and is nervous about doing stuff like that. It started after the last ota update, and the only recent app she downloaded was Unblock Me. Since then all this has been happening, and we already uninstalled Unblock Me suspecting that was the culprit. I have it on my phone with no problems.
yes, she does have power saving mode on

turn it off and see if it helps. that strange behavior is most likely caused by an app. Can you screen shot or list what apps she has on her phone?
Yeah I'm thinking it's power saving mode turn it off see if she can make it through a day without it freezing. You don't need power saving on a note 2 battery life is great without it unless your wife is like most females and always forgets to charge her phones

Here's the list of apps she has downloaded. She hasn't downloaded anything recently except for that Unblock Me and the ota update. She said since yesterday Verizon had her factory reset the phone. She reinstalled all her apps, and it still kept freezing. When in froze this afternoon and it shut down(didn't reboot), she took it strait to Best Buy to have them look at it.
The guy fiddled with it, and it was freezing and rebooting on him as he was messing with settings. He told her it probably needed to be sent in. She doesn't want a refurbished phone if they replace this one, so we are trying to figure it out. But since that visit, the phone has not froze on her. Weird.
Should we uninstall all the apps and install one by one each day to see which may be causing it?
Did you turn power saving off and it still freezing?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
when I checked it, it was already off. I know she had it on, but don't know if the BB guy turned it off or if it was turned off by the factory reset.
If it's still freezing with power save off then I would factory reset it then install the apps that she must have for day to day use. Then give it a day and install the other apps she wants.

This. Factory reset is your last option other than rooting (and flashing a custom OS) or sending it in.

I totally agree. :good:
Phones normally only freeze when the ram runs out. Is there any app misbehaving and sucking up all the ram?
I had some what i thought were random reboots the first few months with my N2. These I discovered were caused by carry the N2 in my back pocket of my jeans! Every time I bent down to pick something up or to tie my laces it would reboot!! I would just hear the start up noise comming from my pocket. Make sure she doesn't put it in her skinny-jeans back pocket.
Thanks for the suggestions guys! It froze again this morning, so we are going to factory reset and install apps one by one each day to see who the culprit is. Hopefully its an app doing this.
I have been experiencing EXACTLY that and hqve tried most of the remedies. However this only seems to happen at work which makes it somewhat difficult to actuwlly sot down and diagnose the problem.

I have been reading about this issue from a lot of people with the s3 & note 2 on forums. I honestly think Samsung/Verizon sent out a bad OTA due to rushing to close the security loopholes. I refused the ota and found a way to permanently defer the update and have not experienced any reboots or freezing.
From my previous/recent experience Verizon will absolutely not help you at all, they are worthless 99% of the time. All they are able to do is tell you to factory reset it(if they know how) and have no actual clue how to fix the devices. They will even 'call' the software support for you but will still tell you to either factory reset or do a return. I am disgruntled after they destroyed 3 phones (Droid Incredible) in my family after pushing out horribly bugged OTAs that left the devices useless. I confronted them and they flat out refused to take ownership of their own software that they pushed out. I still feel like they should be sued over what happened.
Good Luck!

Yeah leave it to VZW to fix one thing and introduce a worst bug. I had a Motorola bionic that kept losing signal every 20 minutes or so then version sent out an update damn phone would drop signal every 30 seconds or not even connect to data. Basically rendering the phone useless. Worst part was Motorola had the bootloader locked down so tight there was no good development. At least we have good development for our note 2

Users should legitimately have a lawsuit case against Verizon. They are essentially forcing you to purchase a new device because of something they did. When I confronted them they straight up told me to buy a new device. Devices should work indefinitely theoretically and they are causing irreparable damage.
My note 2 was having major battery drain issues so I got my self back to pure stock like day 1 and I went ahead and updated with the ota so I will see if the random freezing / reboots pick up or not. I already noticed a keyboard bug where it pulls up a numerical only keyboard and wont allow me to type letters unless I reboot.
Did anyone solve this? I'm in the UK and very recently got my ota update. Since then I've been getting multiple daily resets and freezes. Can't say whether it's due to the ota update or some software I've been using, but the crashes are certainly pretty new and very annoying.

Anyone know how to reflash to 4.1.1

[Q] Stock S III boot loop - SIM?

My stock, never-rooted GT-I9300 (4.1.2, I9300BWELK1, JZO54K.I9300XXEMC2) is plagued by boot loop problems. It first started about 3 months ago, where the blue charge LED would suddenly come on and the phone would not wake from sleep. I pulled the battery, then when it was turned on it showed the initial S III logo, then the O2 logo followed by the glowing Samsung logo. Then repeated from the O2 logo endlessly. I pulled the battery again, then the next morning restarted it without the SIM or SD card in, and it had done a partial factory reset - i.e. lots of phone contacts were there with the texts, but all the settings had reverted to default. Later that day while on charge the same thing happened again, and I sent it away to O2 for repair.
When it returned, the same thing happened 6 weeks later although this time it was on when it froze and went straight to the O2/blue LED stage. Another repair (I'm fairly sure these 'repairs' were just factory resets...), and 6 weeks later exactly the same. Back to the O2 shop for another repair.
This time they replaced the 'main board' and when it came back it had a different Wi-Fi MAC address. This time only 6 days elapsed before the same fault arose again, and finally I was eligible for a replacement handset. This lasted 2 days before a boot loop condition occurred again! This time, being sure it couldn't be a hardware fault I tried my own /data and /cache wipe, which worked. I skipped all but the must-have apps, and I thought this was going to be stable but once more this past weekend the boot loop happened again (I've got my restoration procedure down to about 15 minutes thanks to the practice!)
I don't know what could be causing this and I'm fed up with resetting my phone. Are all S IIIs this unstable? I've never had a phone that required a factory reset within 18 months! When it is in the boot loop, I can access recovery and download modes, but safe-mode start-up has no effect.
The last remaining candidates I can think of are a problem with my SIM card, or a defect with my SD card... or an app. Can anyone suggest the best way to troubleshoot this? I'd really really rather not have to skip importing my settings as I have among other things many SSIDs I don't easily have access to re-create.
What ROM are you on? 4.1.2?

Yes, 4.1.2. I don't recall this behaviour before I got the OTA update from 4.1.1 though

No, not all S3 owners experience this, a factory reset solves most of these issues however, if it doesn't, a trip to the Samsung service center will help.
I'd say it's probably a dodgy app, or some kind of unstable firmware update for your region/carrier, since hardware replacements didn't help with it.

Hmm. Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I know anyone else with and S III on O2-UK but it seems to be news to O2, so I assumed it must be fairly rare.
I'm not sure about dodgy apps; testing them one app at a time isn't really feasible as it can take up to 6 or 7 weeks to fail judging by past performance. Are there any logs or similar that I can pull out somehow in the event of a boot loop? I've seen about logcats but I am not sure if this would be of use

Everything to carries is "news".
I can't help with logs and whatnot, so I'll leave that to someone else.
You can always flash and downgrade to the older firmware that didn't give you a problem, if the problem persists, it is indeed an app.
Even when rooted, informative logs are nigh on impossible to get

That doesn't fill me with confidence!
Thanks again for the replies. I'm not wild about downgrading. I liked the improvements! Is it possible to downgrade in a carrier supported way? Retaining warranty compliant has been rather useful in the past few months!

You can flash any official via odin.

Well late Friday night it did it again. Not sure when exactly as I was asleep. Woke up in the middle of the night and went to check the time, Looked at my phone to find the blue LED on when it should have been red for charging or green for fully charged, and it was very hot - wouldn't turn on either. Pulled the battery but it kust went into the loop. I was away from home so I couldn't do any troubleshooting and had no choice but to wipe.
This time I didn't restore settings and the only apps I installed were SMS Backup & Restore and Puzzle Alarm (I know this isn't the culprit as I only started using it this week!). Gone are all my precious wifi SSIDs but otherwise I'm not sure I've noticed the difference.
So I'm now not connected to my work wifi, nor have I set up my work email or Lync - two of the things I use my phone for must after Facebook which I've also not reinstalled. Facebook mobile web is really hard to use by comparison.
By chance I popped into the O2 shop later that day and had the fortune to bump into a Samsung rep who had never heard of this and agreed that I was unfortunate to have these problems (how touching!) and suggested I speak directly to Samsung support rather than O2 which I will do this week. I will also contact O2 about a replacement SIM and look into replacing the SD too.
This is really silly. I'm not keen on downgrading the software because the first thing either Samsung or O2 will do is upgrade it again. Frankly at this point I'm fed up with the whole thing but I've got a year left on the contract and even a pretty much new handset like mine won't fetch enough.
