I have a 2 month old 10.1 and about a month ago it started loosing connection to my wireless network
i try to shut down the wi-fi and on again on the device but it seems its stuck trying to turn it off
this has happened several times and the only solution is to reboot every time
Sometime its just a few hours before it happens and other times its a few days.
Any help?
(its not rooted )
Hello all,
I've been using the wifi-hotspot lately on my SGT GT-P300. I only just noticed that when doing so, the divice is sharing the 3G connection.
My question is if it's possible to share my own wifi connection instead of 3G? So the SGT acts like some sort of router?
Must be easier to just connect direcly to the router instead of sharing the wifi thru the pad?
As far as I know wifi-hotspot is only for sharing the 3g connection.
If you already have a wifi network it must be better to connect directly to that with another device.
Very true, but my wifi signal in my room is weak and keeps disconnecting atleast once every 2 minutes. For my Nexus S and Galaxy S II that is, SGT signal is as strong as it can get.

Hi,
I'm new to the forum so apologise in advance if this is a stupid question.
I recently bought a Sim Free S3. I haven't rooted it as i'm quite happy with the stock os for now. Everything had been working very smoothly on it. But since getting the over the air update for it my data signal randomly drops out or freezes. It seems to do it over WiFi too. It does this even though it shows a wifi connection or with the H+ visible. I've also noticed it cycle through H+ to 3G and back again.
Sometimes the signal works again on it's own and other times i have to switch the phone off and on aain.
I find it happens on tweakdeck the most but has also happened whilst browsing the net.
Do you think this could be linked to the update or could this just be a coincidence and there's an underlying hardware fault.
Let the new update run for a little bit...let it settle in
It might just be the spot u in and I doubt its the phone
Might be uodate but how long u been on the update?

Think the update came through on Tuesday.
Will give it a few more days to settle and see how it goes.
Thanks.
Still having an issue with this.
My internet worked all weekend then today started to fail on me again today.
The phone shows a HSPA connection but will not download any data.
I know it's not the network as my wife is on the same network and is having no issues.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Same problem
I am having the same problem here. I just bought SGS3 about 3 days ago and I started noticing data drop out yesterday. I wish someone could help me. I was hoping the problem to be solved by the time we get firmware update.
BTW, I am also having problem using usb tethering or wifi hotspot. After using usb tethering for about 10 minutes, it stops connecting although the phone still has data connection.
Is it hardware or software problem???
Thanks!!!
having the same issue after power saving goes on i lose h+ until god knows when
Hi,
I'm getting a galaxy s3 very soon and I'm thinking about getting a nexus 7 with it.But as you know, nexus 7 doesn't have 3G so my only option to access network on it when there's no wifi network available is to use my future s3 as a wifi hotspot. So my questions are:
1-Is data consumption when using the phone as a wifi hotspot the same as if I'm normally using 3G on the phone itself ?
2-How long can an android(specifically the S3 if it matters much) act as a wifi hotspot before the battery runs out ?

1. Yes.
data consumption will be sum of what you consume on your phone + on your tablet.
2. Battery life when using Wi-Fi hotspot depends on data activity. During light/no data activity via hotspot, your battery will last longer than heavy data activity.
-I have galaxy SII and I get more than 5 hrs (8hrs max) on the average when using my phone as Wi-Fi hotspot.

Hello everyone,
I'm stuck with a problem with the wifi reception/connection of my Samsung Galaxy S III (i9305) and I would really, really appreciate it if someone could help me fix it.
The problem is: The wifi doesn't work, unless I stand very close or next to the router (in a range of about 3-4 meters).
I have checked the Wifi Analyzer app, and it seems that the wifi is only functional when the signal is between -60 and -40 dBm. When the signal is between -60 dBm and -100 dBm nothing will load (websites, playstore, apps which require internet etc.).
These are the things I have tried:
- I have changed the wifi antenna of the phone with a fully functional one (the little thingy with the long cable)
- I have tried installing different ROMS (Stock ROM, Cyanogenmod and another one)
- I have turned the wifi power saving off (With the *#0011# code)
- I have reconnected to the router 9001 times (forget network and reconnecting)
- Factory resetted it 120382 times
None have solved the problem
I am 99.9999% Percent sure that the problem isn't with the router, since I have 2 other Galaxy S3 devices and they have no problems when going further than 4 meters from the router.
PLZ help me :crying::crying::crying:
