AppRadio 2? - AT&T LG Optimus G

In the In-Car Solutions thread user robstunner mentioned that his AppRadio 2 with ARLiberator didn't play well with the OG. I wanted to know if anyone else has experience with this headunit and the OG. If so, do you also have issues? Were you able to overcome them?
This just seems like such an elegant solution to automobile integration, I want it to work.

Our phone is on Pioneer's compatible device list so it should be fully functional.

I checked that too. Fully functional is sometimes objective, though. If response times are horrendous, or something like that, it would just kill the whole experience. I saw a video of a GSIII that was nice, quick, and snappy. And then a video of an HTC something-or-other that was slllooooow. I hoping someone here has used it, otherwise I'll be testing it myself when I get back from a business trip in a month.

[Q] Play games on Rezound w/ PS3 controller?

I was reading this article http://bit.ly/o1fK41 and this user was able to play games on his phone with his PS3 controller.
I downloaded the Sixaxis Compatibility Checker to see if the Rezound was compatible or not. I tried a few times, doesn't seem the Rezound is one of them, maybe I did something wrong, but I don't think I did. I'm thinking it has something to do with Sense? Hopefully once we have a working ICS ROM, I can try this particular app again.
Until then I was wondering if anyone knows of an alternative application or way around this? I was going to try and do with my Kindle Fire, but I forgot my KF doesn't have BT. I've downloaded a bunch of PSX games, would love to play them.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!
I second that, can't wait to use my ps3 controller with modern combat 3....I used to use my ps3 controller with my Evo, I'm guessing it only works with AOSP Roms?

Important - Due to the non-standard protocol that the controllers use to communicate with the host, this application requires root access. Additionally, it is incompatible with most HTC devices and some newer Samsung devices. This is due to the required bluetooth protocol not being implemented on these devices. We are actively looking into a work around, but currently the only solution is to install a custom firmware, such as Cyanogenmod, that supports the required protocols.

I used this all the time on my Bionic for SNES ROMs and it is one of the main reasons I am waiting for an AOSP ROM. As for other solutions, I haven't found any yet.
It looks like ics is the only way to get it to work on the rezzy. Hopefully it isn't to much longer until we see 4.0.3.
Until then maybe I can use my PS3 controller on my PC? I've been trying to figure out how to play my PSX roms on Win7, having a really hard time trying to figure out how to use this emulator, having a lot of problems! hmmm...

Nah, doesn't seem to work with ICS... well the ICS RC with cleanROM at least. I just tried today.
It's probably the same reason why Wii controller stuff doesn't work on Sense ROMs. I'm not even going to pretend like I fully understand it, but the tl;dr version is that Sense doesn't have a bluetooth stack that is compatible with the controllers, but AOSP does. And no, there's not a way to get it to work with Sense at this point in time.
It has to set up when compiling the kernel.

Got it running on my PC, laptop, and netbook. Shoot me a PM if you need a hand, but i've used ePSXe, PCSX2, Dolphin, all using DS3 Tool for the PS3 controller. Initial setup can be a pain, their docs and wikis are great helps.

It has to do with the bluetooth stack that HTC chose to insert in their ROM vs the bluetooth stack that comes with AOSP Android. We had the same problem on the Galaxy S. Samsung used a different bluetooth stack in their touchwiz UI. Until HTC and Samsung use a bluetooth stack that has the right protocol it wont work.
Has nothing to do with the kernel.

Is it really necessary to act like a child when someone clears up a question? His post was right. Yours was wrong. Accept it graciously and grow up. The Rezound forum is feeling like a daycare because of exactly this kind of BS.
Look buddy I don't mind I was wrong. I also don't mind being corrected. But just don't be an ass about it. So whatever I gave him a light tap. Thanks for being the android police the community really needs you.

It is not JUST the bluetooth stack, if it were, you could just replace the bluetooth stack from AOSP into a rom that it doesnt work in (sense, touchwiz), but it does not work. Sense itself disables many of the protocols for non-standard bluetooth types, why ill never know. They fixed it on i believe the sensation or something by making a custom kernel and now they can use the Wii remote in sense. Its nowhere simple in anyway. Of course, if we had AOSP, it would work out of the box and no hassle involved.

Wii remote and Bluetooth on the Rezound

Seems like the Bluetooth that HTC has installed will not work with a Wii remote, at least in the two Emulators I have tried, is there a way around this?
I've tried it on rooted stock and the infallibus deus roms, idf anyone has any thoughts/insight it would be greatly appreciated.

HTC Sense overlay in a rom does NOT enable the proper BT protocols necessary to run wiimote or sixaxis for emulation. Part of the reason i am salivating for ANY fully functional AOSP-ish rom regardless of performance.
Thanks for the info guys, hopefully we get one sooner rather than later.

well i got the gamestop tablet gamepad..WORKS on SENSE!!
it is essentially a gamepad that is wired as a BT keyboard...as long as your app/emulator supports key remapping it does the job beautifully! i highly reccomend!

Yes, please tell! I've been wanting to get the ps3 remote going ever since I tried it on the OG Droid with CM7. Would be nice to get this gamestop remote until we get done AOSP goodness.

it works great! i have my 64gb microxd loaded with every conceivable rom/iso that CAN be emulated on a rezound and it works great on ALL emulators that support key remapping.
one caveat though...had to revert to gingerbread rom for functionality to work properly in the emulators and the gamepad. small price to pay for this performance level in emulation though.
would be great if an admin could move this and sticky it in the accessories area, pretty groundbreaking info for anyone wanting to use a gamepad with a sense device..
Wanted to know if anyone who got this has tried it with any ICS Sense ROM and has it working?
EDIT: Tried BAMF 2.0, 2.1 and Senseless (all based on ICS) but could not get the controller to work with any of these. Switched to CleanROM 1.7.5 and works flawlessly now. Going to try and hunt for the BAMF Cubed files.

Feature lost in time, powered off alarm?

Hi all, there is something that quite bugs for a while:
Why did the feature of all phones before the arrival of "modern OSes" that allow phones to still activate for alarm when powered off disappear?
I remember noticing this, and been annoyed by this, since the better versions of Windows Mobile, (Touch Flo 3D, good times!).
Anyone has a technical explanation to this? why will this not be supported by Android? IOS does it, right?
Also I think some people like Chainfire tried to do this at some point?
Thanks!

Yes he did, he made an app called NoMoarPowah check it out on here. I know that you need a kernel that supports the correct modules to make this work, that doesn't mean it doesn't work though....my Galax S1 used to work perfectly with this fantastic app (prior to ICS that was though).
Will be looking into this kind of support for my S3 LTE

UP by Jawbone

I was thinking about getting the UP by Jawbone but have heard that it is buggy with the HTC One. I was wondering if anyone has one and if it works with the EVO LTE and which ROM they are using. I don't want to spend $130 on just a bracelet if it doesn't work. Also what other accessories like the UP there are out there that are compatible with Android. Apparently the Nike Fuelband will never be compatible
The Jawbone webpage states certain devices it is compatible and one of those is the HTC One and it makes me nervous
https://jawbone.com/up/devices <-- doesn't mention the EVO LTE though.
any help would be appreciated!

Hi There! I have been using the up for two weeks now on the Evo LTE. I was running stock with goodies, and I am now on Viper rom. For the up to work with stock with goodies u have to uncheck beats audio when it is plugged in. As far as with viper, there is nothing to uncheck. Anything else let me know!
I've been wanting to get something like this for a while. How accurate would you say the UP is? I'm kinda holding out waiting for the Amiigo but am still interested in seeing how others are. It's pretty annoying that ones like the Fuelband are completely avoiding android and the new Fitbit Flex that only work with the Galaxy S3 and Note 2.

Have you used it with CM10.1 by chance? I only get LTE with CM10.1, any Sense ROM doesn't connect to LTE. long story.
Do you know of any place to go try one on and test it out? I know i can buy them online and from Best Buy and Amazon, but I don't want to drop $130 on something that feels weird.

Well I tried downloading one of the nightlies, and had trouble. I was able to download evrvolv, and it does NOT work with it! Seems like it is only "sense" friendly?

Thanks trsix, but it does not use bluetooth, you sync the UP via the headphone jack on the phone
you should check out the fitbit flex, its new and from what ive read its pretty awesome and its only 99$

I was at BestBuy on my lunch break and the Sales Rep was wearing an UP. She convinced me to buy one because I have 15 days to return it if I don't like it or it doesn't work. So it couldn't hurt right?... well lo and behold it's not syncing on CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightlies
I am going to fully charge it and flash the RC1 and give it a try...Wish me luck

you can use the app to track what you've done since your last sync. only the phones listed as compatible can sync on the fly, this because of specific Bluetooth hardware, which is why there aren't more phones supported. so basically the android app will work on your phone you just cant sync via Bluetooth, so basically you cant get instant gratification.
im in the market for a fitness tracking device as well and after reading a lot on the subject i will buy the fit bit one. it costs the same as the flex but has more sensors (one tracks stairs while flex doesn't) it has a screen that will tell me what my progress is (so i don't need it to sync on the fly to my phone) and many reviewers have stated that the one is more accurate than the flex.

I ended up flashing "Stock with Goodies" and I bought the Jawbone UP. It works like a charm on any Sense ROM I have tried. But I screwed up my 3G in the EPST and now have no service with a Sense ROM so I am back on CyanogeMod. The apps works fine except it won't sync, I am going to try to figure it out and will let you guys know if I find a way for the Jawbone to work on Stock Android 4.2.
The Fitbit looks nice and all but I just think its not for me.
FYI the "silent alarm" on the UP is insane!!! You pick a time for your alarm to go off and + or - 20 minutes from that time the UP will vibrate to wake you up when you are not in deep REM sleep. it has worked amazing so far!
I grabbed a Fitbit Flex last night(the last one within about 10 zip codes lol). Almost got the Up, but the Flex with the lower profile strap under the wrist seemed like it would be much more comfortable to wear at work behind a desk. Plus it's cool to have color options. The bluetooth sync through pc works flawlessly. I'm always near a computer so I'm going to get another bluetooth dongle for my work pc. Was actually able to get the Flex, a second color strap, and an extra dongle for the same price as the Up. The sleep function is awesome. I've been worried about not getting good sleep(frequently waking) and it seems to do the job great. Still really interest in the Amiigo...but I spoke to them and they are launching it with BLE syncing ONLY at launch then possibly doing a USB dongle like the Fitbit later.
So I got the UP and I love it.
A lot of people that I have asked about it said the worst part is the food section and that there isn't a lot of options but I love the food section because you can scan barcodes and it will load the food, you can take pictures of food and everything gets saved in your recent food section.
The battery on the UP states that it lasts 10 days on a single charge. Which isn't true for me at all. I use about 15% per day so about 7 days give or take. Still great.
I sit at a desk all day (Tech Support) and it doesn't bother me while I type at all. It's waterproof, I wear it in the shower.
The only bad part is that you have to turn it into "day" or "night" mode by holding the button down and I forget sometimes. Other than that though I LOVE the UP!!!!

I Hate to ask for a ROM suggestion, But I have an uncommon situation.

So I have an odd situation. I am turning my EVO 3D phone into a Viggle Machine. So it will mainly just sit around the house, not doing much. What I'm looking for, is a ROM that will be SUPER great on battery, and is almost completely bare of apps. The only real apps I need, would be the Google Play store.
I would even prefer a ROM that already has most default apps/phone functions removed. Has anyone run across a ROM that has been converted into a media or MP3 player?
I obviously don't care about 3D functions, MMS, Wimax, etc. I really only need working Wifi.
Anyone out there kind enough to offer a few suggestions? I know telling people what ROM's to get isn't very fun, or usually worth responding to, but hopefully someone is willing to offer some advice.
Negalite rom, has a tablet option, no phone function. But if your looking to sell I'm willing to buy if price is right
