Check the battery connectors if "oxidized" (don't really know if correct) clean them. If after warranty period you can dispatch it and check micro usb connector, if you can solder resolder it if not I saw somewhere a tutorial how to fix it without soldering here on XDA. Next you can check flex tapes for oxidation, gaps, etc BTW check micro usb for that to. Write back if something helped. In case it's under warranty send it to service center of course.

So you have nothing to lose and hopefully fix it. That was a most possible reasons. If none of them, problem is in main PCB. Warranty wasn't so obvious there are still shops that have this phone in stocks. Hope it's something simple and you fix it.

also had this issue mini usb didnt feel solid in the charger port think it was a faulty port was replaced in the store
I think there is a problem with that port in our x10's. I read many topics about charging problems. You have to be very carefull with it. I think micro usb socket is getting loose after 'heavy' use so it needs replacing.
i use momax U-Charger and battery... so far so good... np..

HI boys
i have bought one phone from second hand for good price
phone look like new without any problems working good
but i mean that there is USB port problem, charging OK , but when i plug the charger in first time phone was totally without enegry ( it shows yellow triangle near the battery icon ( but only for few minutes)
in this case when i connect phone to PC there is only charging and nothing more
already trying USB debug mode on/off , download mode when i connect windows just says unsupported device
iam trying 3 SGS2 , 3 PC and also 4 USB Cables
usb JIG working good it go to download mode and earse all data counter without problem
is there any good specialst who can help me ? i want to order USB flex cable part and chanage, it is enought?
many thanks
If it's a persistent problem try cleaning it out with a toothbrush or small brush?

Or try to push the central connector up a bit. That may also help add these things are a source of common problems.

already done , but without luck
iam not stupid, i had 3 sgs2 and this is first problem like this,
in service they told me that i have to pay for diagnostic first,( so no good )
iam without waranty, but if i chanage usb port flex cable iam not shure if this one can fix,
as i didnt know about history of phone ( maybe was water damage ?)
but all working like charm, phone looks like new( except USB connection)
so why the USB JIG working ? which pins is connected via JIG?
Also charging is good , some circle can be broken?
i will try to risk order one flex usb connector for sgs2
http://www.parts4ipods.com/epages/es115703.sf/en_GB/?
it cost just 7 GBP free psotage to worldwide
i hope that i will not more destroyed my phone , dissassembly looks no good ...
Disassembly doesn't seem like that hard a job to do yourself. I'd rather do that than pay for it

i did c the same on my phone while chargin
but i did not harm my phone in any way
it jus shows for couple of seconds and den it comes back to normal
yes iam technican engeneer , but iam afraid about that , if i broke some more thing in, than can be more expensive repair
and iam not sure that is this flex cable problem
but better than soldering someting on motherboard

the issue is with ur micro USB charger port ma8
use a dry toothbrush to thorough clean it and then see
Install battery status from Play Store
If battery health says : over voltage
Thats mean your motherboard is damaged and , if you still under warrenty SAMSUNG will replace your device with a new one

And if your not under warranty and cleaning the micro usb with a toothbrush and alcohol doesn't work then order a new micro usb from ebay and replace it yourself, it costs about 8-9 dollars. There is a video on youtube and should take you about 20mins to change. DO NOT TRY IT IF YOU ARE CLUMSY, you could break your phone
I did that and got my phone working, although the phone is still under warranty but i couldn't be with out my phone for 3 weeks. However the new micro usb came 4 weeks xD Been using the new one for over 6 months now and so far no problems.

im not under warranty and its showing voltage 4031mV ..can u give ma a link to youtube video how to do that
Hi! At first I wanted to say I didnt find any other thread which could solve my problem.
My battery stats doesnt work correctly. I mean, instead of battery status on my display I can see just a question mark.
But before everything I opened the phone to get to PCB and i scratched it near the antenna pins. Now I cant even charge my battery. It seems that the usb connecter doesnt work at all. However I dont think I broke the usb connecter when I opened my phone.
Do you know what could be the problem? Any advice?
Thank you!
Two photos of my device

You're probably right and I should have done it alredy. Im just wonder if it's because of scratched pins that my USB port doesn't work. Thx anyway. : )
So I got this strange problem where my phone stopped charging. I tried diffrent cables, adapters, charging it while being off, charging it via the computer and even tried to adjust the little lip in the micro usb port. Is the charging board dead? If it is, will a replacement be expensive?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Free mobile app
Well dude I think your assumption is right.
It might be the charging circuit only which may be dead.
Because as you told that you have tried diffrent cabels and chargers but still your charging is not working which means that the usb micro port through which we charge and connect our phone to computer is damaged and should be replaced .
There are many possible reason of damaging usb port like you may have drop your phone or by using faulty cabels and chargers or if u have rooted your phone then there is possibility of changing the voltage of current to more than 1000 Mhz etc etc.
You should try to flashed a complete stock rom by downloading from sammobile or directly using kies to update or re-flash your phone
you can try that may it may help you.

Nah, it won't turn on because the battery is empty.. I don't have a spare so it seems buying a new board is my only hope..
I saw there are loads of micro usb connectors on ebay. If I solder a new one on. Might that help?

You can try micro usb port which is available on ebay but it would be extremely very dangerous until and unless you know what you are doing.
My suggestion is to give your phone to the samsung care and tell then to repair it.
If your phone is in warranty then they will do it for free. You just need to provide them a copy of bill at the time you purchased s3.
Press THANKS if I helped you
