Phone doesn't charge the battery - scratched PCB - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi! At first I wanted to say I didnt find any other thread which could solve my problem.
My battery stats doesnt work correctly. I mean, instead of battery status on my display I can see just a question mark.
But before everything I opened the phone to get to PCB and i scratched it near the antenna pins. Now I cant even charge my battery. It seems that the usb connecter doesnt work at all. However I dont think I broke the usb connecter when I opened my phone.
Do you know what could be the problem? Any advice?
Thank you!

If it is a hardware issue, why don't you take it to the repair services?

You're probably right and I should have done it alredy. Im just wonder if it's because of scratched pins that my USB port doesn't work. Thx anyway. : )

[Q] No Screen after Digitiser replacement. LCD replacement did not resolve. Mobo?

I recently replaced a cracked digitiser in my X10. After replacement, the LCD no longer displays an image (but it lights up).
I thought maybe the LCD ribbon was damaged as a result of the repair, so I got a new one and replaced the LCD to no avail.
I also found the vibration motor had came off, and I soldered that back on (the motor is working again), but I'm thinking that maybe it ripped some of the board off with it, as the bottom of the motor as some green board on it, and it's slot on the mobo has some brown board showing in that area. This could just be a convenient seating for the motor, but I'm not sure, as I don't have another to test with.
The phone boots, and it makes a sound when I hit the volume keys, and it vibrates when I unlock it (even though I cannot see anything).
Does anyone have any further experience with the X10 that could help me diagnose my issue?
Thanks
Bump?
look for broken circuit traces and check the display connecton the board it may have pinns ripped out of place pictures would also help
I desoldered the motor again so that I could show you.
and re-soldered it (The motor still works, btw).
I also cleaned around the board with isopropyl alcohol.
As far as I can see, there is no further damage to the board, and the screen is new, so it shouldn't be an issue.
The digitiser, and the sound works, (I can hear sounds with the volume keys, and I can feel the vibration of unlocking).
I removed and re-inserted the pins on the removable connector on the LCD screen, with no avail. They seem ok.
I'm outta ideas. Anyone?

Which cable? I tried pressing down on all 4 of the connectors (one at the top next to the USB, and the three on the sides on the bottom next to where the battery sits.
I also tried pressing on the motor. Nothing.
Anything else?
Yup remember a PSP screen acting erratically cuz it's cable is damaged

Could you desolder the board stuck to the motor see if there are traces leading to the LCD connector if it is then repair is least likely since there are no traces left below or the whole layer holding the traces are ripped off
Sent from my X10i using XDA
Do you have another board or another flex cable?
Sent from my X10i using XDA
I don't think it's a good idea to de-solder the board attached to the motor, as there is no fixing fixing it that part anyway, and it will just risk further damage.
I have 2 LCD screens. This one is new. Both don't work. I don't think the LCD screen itself is the issue, which makes me believe the problem is the mobo.
Thanks for your help so far. If you or anyone else has any more ideas, then I will listen, otherwise, I'm gonna try cook this board as a last resort... got nothing to lose, really and in a rare-case, maybe it will help fix some loose solder joints I can't get to
Are you using the old cables

Are those caps/resistor beside the motor on the ripped of board?

I don't have another mobo, but the cables on the LCD are new. The other cables are old, but seem to be working. Everything but the LCD works.

Replacing usb port on s3

I recently bought a s3 to repair and resell.
The phone has 2issues
Broken digitizer
The usb port doesn't charge or is recognized by the pc.
Does anyone know how i replace the micro usb port?
What i know:
it's not connected via flex cable, is soldered to the board. so will need soldering
To replace i need a hot air blower, my soldering gun has that function.
Please tell me more

that's pretty much it. desolder the old one, solder a new one on there.
Does anyone have good resolution pictures of the usb port on the motherboard, so i could know what im getting myself into.

Dear Glebun and other users,
I'm thinking of replacing the Micro USB port on my black GT-i9300. I've had charging issues some time now. First I had to some ' tricks' examples: Turning off, getting it to charge then turn on. Repeatedly jack the cable in and out. Rebooting and what not.
However now it wont charge at all. When plugged in to the wall socket it just stays at the level it is (when not using and screen off) when plugged in and using it the battery drains. Also my laptop won't reconize the device. (also won't charge when pluggen in the laptop).
I got this phone from my brother who has installed Cyanogenmod on it.
Now what kind of equipement do I need exactly? And do I need to work with some anti-static armband?
I am more interested in how you plan to fix the digitizer and make money on it?

[Q] HTC EVO LTE Charging issue.

Ok, im trying to figure out why this phone wont charge or connect to pc via usb. I have done testing on the port, and it appears the port is good. and it seems to be making good contact with the board. I have posted pics of the port and the area that connects to the board. I have checked the continuity from a cut usb cable i have, plugged it in port and have good continuity across all the pins of the port. My question is, are the pads on the other side of the pcb points for the usb port? becuase i have no continuity on any of the points with any pin in the cable. the phone turns on, i bought a brand new battery and screen for the phone, i got it for free from someone and it was completely shattered. I have about 75 dollars invested in it. It works perfectly, completely virgin no root or unlocked bootloader. Running the latest update.
I also posted a pic of the jtag pads, there is no continuity on any of those either to the USB. Nor any other pad on the board anywhere. And i think thats odd, there should be one somewhere.
Sorry if i posted this in the wrong area, mods can move it if they need to.

Oh yea, ive done all the obvious things to try and figure it out. When i got it, they said it just quit charging, so i figured it was the battery, so i bought a brand new battery, which came charged, and a new screen, since it was shattered. It turns on, works perfectly, but it will no charge or connect to pc. ive tried 4 or 5 different cables, and ive wiggled and bent and pushed and pulled and everything else on them to try and get a sign of connectivity. So far ive come up with nothing.. This appears to be a common problem with this model, i guess i should have researched it more before i spent so much on parts for it.
Maybe the circuit board is fried.

As in the port lost connection to the board/broke? or this same situation, where it just quit working for no reason? The port is working as it should, and making good connection with the board. I'm stumped. If the port was broken, i could replace the port, no problem, but im 100% positive the port is not the issue here.

Did you figure out what happened to it? Mine suddenly developed a problem last week and would appear to be charging (charging light on) but it does not really charge. The port looks ok.

S.O.S! Zu is seemed dead!

Somethin' wrong is on my new Zu.
I charged my Zu with magnetic charging line, but I made its electrode wrong.
Then my Zu's screen was off.
now i tried many ways to save it,but failed.
Can anyone nice to help me?
Thx very.
This is the third time I've read about this, and I believe you'll have to send it in for repairs.
I think @hamdogg had this issue, so he can probably explain it.

I had same issue. Had the send it away to get fixed. Mine still worked, but would always think it was charging.
Just do a hard power of using the red reset button
Wait a minute, so basically if the magnetic charger touch the port the wrong way once, it's broken?

From my understanding, when u reversed the polarity it will damage the charging circuit like IC or diode...
If it still can be turned on means it a minor damage but if it cant be turn on at all then the mobo is effected...
Electronics are very very sensitive...

Wow this is crazy. I bought a generic magnetic charging cable and I know I reversed it a few times trying to see which way it fit best. Phone still works fine but now I'm afraid to use the cable for fear It could kill the phone.

[Q] Galaxy S3 (i9300) won't charge

So I got this strange problem where my phone stopped charging. I tried diffrent cables, adapters, charging it while being off, charging it via the computer and even tried to adjust the little lip in the micro usb port. Is the charging board dead? If it is, will a replacement be expensive?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Free mobile app
Well dude I think your assumption is right.
It might be the charging circuit only which may be dead.
Because as you told that you have tried diffrent cabels and chargers but still your charging is not working which means that the usb micro port through which we charge and connect our phone to computer is damaged and should be replaced .
There are many possible reason of damaging usb port like you may have drop your phone or by using faulty cabels and chargers or if u have rooted your phone then there is possibility of changing the voltage of current to more than 1000 Mhz etc etc.
You should try to flashed a complete stock rom by downloading from sammobile or directly using kies to update or re-flash your phone
you can try that may it may help you.

Nah, it won't turn on because the battery is empty.. I don't have a spare so it seems buying a new board is my only hope..
I saw there are loads of micro usb connectors on ebay. If I solder a new one on. Might that help?

You can try micro usb port which is available on ebay but it would be extremely very dangerous until and unless you know what you are doing.
My suggestion is to give your phone to the samsung care and tell then to repair it.
If your phone is in warranty then they will do it for free. You just need to provide them a copy of bill at the time you purchased s3.
Press THANKS if I helped you
