Anyone have Stock Hboot to revert back from ENGhboot? Thanks

You could just extract the hboot from the recent OTA or get it from the RUU at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2092469

Is the hboot packaged in the radio zip that people have posted? I was thinking the stock hboot and recovery were included in that radio update package.

When did you get a DNA!?! Get back over at the Rezound thread!!! lol
But the hboot is not packaged in the radio zip found here if that is what your asking. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155915
Here is HBOOT-1.33.0001 (Stock)

If I was on the original hboot and flashed the ENG hboot, can I flash directly to the hboot from the new ota? Didn't know if it's ok to piecemeal things in like that, just wanted to make sure there are no potential " incompatibilities" with other things. Have already flashed new radio too.

Cool, I don't anticipate ever having to relock my phone but I was thinking of flashing to a standard Hboot just because. I like to minimize the possible ways i can brick my phone.
I'm no dev anyway and I don't think there is any possible reason I would need to have the ENG Hboot on my phone. So thumbs up to flashing the newer hboot then!

Cool I flashed them both and the version didn't change. Oddly enough my phone wouldn't boot on the ENG hboot and as soon as I flashed the stock one it booted right up.

So if im on the SHIP version of the pre-ota HBOOT and i'm s-off and unlocked is it safe to flash the OTA hboot? what would my steps be and what would the end result be. Would i still be unlocked and s-off?

The 2.04 and 1.15 hboot are the same you can if you want to... ive done it w/o any problems you wont lose s-off or unlocked but you arent going to gain anything either
download the 2.04 hboot place it where you would for any adb/fastboot command
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Code:
fastboot flash zip PL83IMG.zip
when the terminal says its done wait a few seconds (the green bar wont fill up 100% so dont worry it will stick at about 3/4 the way)
Code:
fastboot oem boot
My goal is to have the tampered Flag removed. Thats why I was wondering if i could Flash ship Over other ship and remove it.

The only way to get tampered removed as of today is to flash the ENG hboot unless someone (regaw) makes a stock hboot plugin for his bootloader customizer
Flashing to ENG and then back to Ship wouldnt remove it?

sorry for newb question. Not new to android but new to htc. So its my understanding to revert from engineering hboot. I would download stock hboot then rename it to pl83img.zip then,
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip PL83IMG.zip
fastboot oem boot Is this correct? TIA

Once I get S-OFF I can just flash the latest GB OTA RUU and that should bring me back to HBoot 2.11?

Yap. The ruu will drop you back to 2.11 and also reinstall the older radios. I did this right after obtaining S-OFF to start with a fresh phone. I am now on GB firmware(ENG hboot) running ICS using the old firmware patch.

So you ran the full gb ruu and your hboot downgraded to 2.11 but still s-off/locked correct? Then you fastboot flashed the 2.11 eng hboot correct?

I just tried this running the juopunutbear modified hboot 2.21 s-off locked. I ran the full gb ruu, bootloader no longer said juopunutbear, it just showed a stock 2.11 locked s-off. I flashed the 2.11 eng hboot in fastboot. Now it shows locked, hboot 2.11 eng s-off. No issues at all. I never once had to unlock.

Ok but right now I'm on ICS firmware from the ICS Leaked RUU and HBoot 2.21 and at the top of the bootloader it says Tampered ReLocked.
So your saying that at no point do I need to unlock? I'm gonna go home and s-off the run the GB OTA RUU and then flash Amon Ra recovery and possibly flash ENG HBoot, and I don't need to unlock?

The unlock is useless once you obtain s-off.
The ***tampered*** is showing because you are still using the stock 2.21 hboot. If you flash the juopunutbear modified hboot in fastboot you will no longer see the ***tampered*** or the ***locked*** in the hboot, it will only show Juopunutbear at the top.
here are 3 pictures to better explain using the 2.21 hboot.
left: unlocked/s-on/tampered.
middle: locked/s-off/tampered
right: s-off/juopunutbear
juopunutbear is a modified 2.21 hboot, almost like a eng hboot for ONLY ics firmware,
make sense?
Yes but do I have to take the jbear hboot during s-off? I just want to go back to GB and I don't mind using the GB HBoot. I may try the ENG HBoot after I'm on GB HBoot.

rename jb_hboot.zip found in the "controlbear" folder to PH98IMG.zip and flash it as you normally flash a PH image.
that will change your hboot to their modified version where is says juopunutbear.

i did not take it. i flashed it manually as i heard others saying it did not flash. so i skipped it and did it myself.
as far as downgrading a stock hboot 2.21 s-off to to stock 2.11 s-off i do not know...i see no reason why you cannot?
the gb ruu will give you a stock 2.11 anyway while keeping your status to s-off.
i will try later tonight. i just came back from the doctors a little nauseated from some meds....

No authority here, but just passing along a couple of things as they were explained to me:
1. Even with S-off, you might not be able fastboot flash (installing recovery, for example) while locked. Alternatives would be to either unlock, install the ENG HBOOT, or flash with PH98IMG.zip.
2. Also, I believe there was a big note in a thread saying that you could brick your phone by relocking over the ENG HBOOT. The instructions were to restore the correct HBOOT for your configuration before relocking.
As for me, I decided that I do enough flashing that I want fastboot commands to work, and I'm less afraid of resetting everything to restore my phone to factory "LOCKED" indicator than I am afraid of reflashing the only thing that absolutely must be intact to keep from bricking the phone. So I unlocked the stock loader despite having s-off already.

#1 is definitely up for debate but so far I have had no issues using fastboot to flash recoveries and kernels. I tested this stock hboot 2.11 and 2.21 with locked s-off.
#2 I was advised not to try when this question was asked from another thread. I would not even want to. the chances of big brother actually checking for s-on/s-off or locked/unlock/relocked is slim to none.....i would not even bother with an s-on command.
I am currently locked on 2.11 eng s-off running RezROM S4 v1.1 with his firmware patch. phone has great battery life, no data loss and operates much much cooler
I'm currently s-offed and running 2.01.605.11 gb ruu.
Now I need to use the warranty so I need to change the status s-off/unlocked
to s-on/locked not s-on/re-locked.
How can I do that?
the fact that you are S-off doesnt matter as some devices shipped are s-off but to get to locked run the same gb ruu again but dont unlock.
but if you really care about it saying s-on follow the instructions in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612937
since you are on stock hboot you'll be fine with these instructions

by doing this, I can get the s-on, but still I can't get locked.
I need to know how to get locked on the bootloader to use the warranty.
Find a thread that has the correct hboot for your firmware then go to fastboot and type
Code:
fastboot clear cache
fastboot oem reboot ruu
fastboot flash zip (zipnamehere).zip
Then wait a little then do
Code:
fastboot reboot bootloader
That should do it and also I'm not sure it there's a space between reboot and ruu so try both

my first post is the only way to get to 100% stock that i am aware of ... if he is unlocked he will have to s-off to get it to say locked and then s-on to get it back.
if he locks it with the fastboot command it will say lock and if he is s-on not sure but i know if you are s-off you will stay unlocked or relocked even if you flash new hboot's
Thanks if i helped
Sorry about not being very experienced with the way HTC works.
How can i downgrade the 1.58 hboot if i'm already S-off?
thanks!
Since you are s-off, you just need to download the hboot you want, rename it to PG86IMG.zip, and place it on the root of your sd card. Boot into bootloader and "update" to the older hboot. Remove the zip from the sd card and you'll be good to go.
Read, Search, Read again, ... Then Ask with Tapatalk 2
All you need is the ZIP file with the Hboot version that you want. Rename that zip filename to PG86IMG.zip. Here is a quote i posted earlier.

The easiest way is to flash a PG86IMG of an older hboot through hboot.
Beware... If you're on hboot 1.58 and you switch to a lower hboot, you're phone might not boot up unless you change roms.
Which do you want, Hboot 1.4 or 1.5?

DO NOT attempt this process unless you are on a STOCK, HTC HBOOT.
S-ON with an ENG HBOOT will BRICK your device!!!
In other words, Only attempt this AFTER flashing back to a STOCK RUU. (as this will flash the STOCK HBOOT.)
I know the process JUST came out, but I'm sure this will eventually come in to use.
Instructions:

2) Open a cmd window. Plug in phone, charge only mode, usb debugging on.
3) Run the following:

Whatever it said when it was S-ON is my understanding. but since I haven't yet tested this for our phone I can't say 100%
From the looks of your post, I guess you sourced the information from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612937, which I also had bookmarked for my future reference. From that thread, here's how I understand it:
If we S-OFF then unlock, we can expect RELOCKED after S-ON.
If we S-OFF but keep bootloader locked, we can expect LOCKED after S-ON.
It doesn't look like we can expect a custom tag to stick around after S-ON.
Source post (different phone, so may not be the same for us)

correct. only way to get locked back,is to turn s-on,then re unlock and re-s-off. and then,do not unlock after s-off. your hboot will stay locked and you can s-on again,if you need to. just keep in mind that turning s-on should only be done for warranty purposes.

andybones refers to this, but to clarify, the DirtyRacun hboot is an engineering hboot. If going s-on, make sure to run the RUU first.

your link to ruu's doesn't point to RUU's for the HTC Evo 4G LTE. Here is the correct link http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Jewel

that's because this is the HTC DROID INCREDIBLE 4G LTE FORUM... NOT THE EVO 4G LTE.
I know my RUU's point to the correct thread... because I made it!
Do I need to flash the dirty racun hboot from their page? Is having the dirt racun hboot important? Mine says 1.15.000 I have since gaining s-off have had to flash our ruu.
*Edit* I went ahead flashed it now I'm back to where I was after the s-off tool right where I needed to be

Hi,
I need stock "Locked" bootloader.
I've RUU the DirtyRacun Phone by advice as an attempt to fix (SIM failed) and now the Phone is S-OFF with stock Hboot "RELOCKED". Had to unlock the device again for last fix attempts.
Will flashing with S-OFF with stock signed Hboot clear bootloader security flags changing "RELOCKED" back to "LOCKED"?
Now RUU doesn't deliver "Locked" bootloader status. Should I next Flash signed stock Hboot first? Or should I Flash a DR Hboot then RUU again?
Last I would do your posted above for S-ON from Fastboot down since OS locks (no ADB).
Don't want to brick my phone.
Thanks In Advance!

Ive downloaded HBoot from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38379254&postcount=19
typed this:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip PL83IMG.zip

Just checked and it does upgrade to 1.39

So the ENG version worked ok? thats good I guess you need it to flash splash screens anyway.
Lol he was flashing the ship hboot which is the stock bootloader... I posted the stock hboots, they both have the same version number, just ones from the ota and then other one is the 1.15.605.4 hboot
@OP that link that you linked too is the stock hboots both at are 1.33.0001
I didn't link to the eng hboot that's why the version number didn't change

In that case, where can we find the 1.15 hboot (as opposed to the 1.33 hboot I have currently that is preventing me from using RUU.exe method to return to stock)?

the 1.15 hboot is version # 1.33.0001
but here is the post that I have: DNA Stock hboot and Radio / OTA(2.04) hboot and Radio
Sorry about my nooby-ness, but I'm a little confused here. The problem I am faced with at the moment is the inability to flash the stock radio onto my DLX using RUU.exe (error 155 because by hboot is 1.33.0001 not the 1.15 version needed for the RUU flash). I need to get my hboot to 1.15 instead of the 1.33.0001 that it is currently stuck on. Any idea on how to do that? Will the file you posted previously get me to 1.15 hboot, or 1.33.0001 hboot?
