I have an old droid x2 that has a clean esn id like to give my friend.i tried to switch the esn numbers but the websites that do them always result in an error.
I dialled *228 and i ended up getting a new number activated on the phone....
How do i activate the phone and get it running on his account?
All you need to do is call page plus.

I am currently on Page Plus with my DX2 and indeed all you need to do is call them up.

I keep getting an International Data Roaming Alert on my phone stating I am in an international roaming area and will be charged for data usage. I live in rural Nevada but that by no means should be an International Roaming area. If I choose yes to accept the message I still get data but the message keeps popping up. I have had the Droid Incredible, and Droid X and have never had this message pop up with those phones. I have called Verizon and they have verified I am not getting charged roaming but said they can't disable the message.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop this stupid alert?
Please, and thank you!
Have the same thing. Really annoying. Verizon sent me a new phone but that didn't do the trick cuz its built into moto's crapware.

Not sure if this works yet but try ....settings...display... uncheck roaming banner

Thanks for the reply but I didn't have roaming banner enabled.
Same problem for me - pretty much the ONLY thing I am unhappy with on my X2 at this point. In fact, it locks up my phone during the night disabling my alarm when the warning is left on my screen for too long. Maybe a script fix for this possibly?
Everyone with this issue should request the developers to work on fixing it... for example under the X2 Development page there is a form called "[DEV] Affinity ROM"... if we all ask him and other people working on roms to put this fix high on their list of priorities they might just listen.
Have you guys tried *228 and then option 2? I believe this resets roaming.

im wondering if this phone has a MEID for CDMA uses....im trying to flash this phone to metropcs but i cant seem to get a MEID only the IMEI....
if anyone has any info please help....
I have 2 MaXX's on order..
My son has a bionic.. on the box for the bionic, there is an IMEI number and no MEID
The VZW rep said the SIM card is for 4G but he didn't seem to know much..
This is al li know for now but I've wanted to research it a bit myself
I think you still need a sim to activate the phone. Even though it is for 4g data purposes. You need the sim even if you dont plan on using verizon's 4g.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
Even you are able to flash to metropcs you can't use metros 4G since Verizon and metro 4G networks are different. You will be stuck with metro 1x service.

can someoen please send me their email if they have a solution and i will pay for it!! i add esn's to metros inventory they dont accept ones with 99xxxxxxxxxx . any help would be appreciated
Motorola phones have an IMEI and MEID.
The MEID = IMEI - Last Digit
I have a Droid X2 laying around and was wondering if I was able to switch this phone to a Verizon prepaid or any other pay as you go service?

I'm pretty sure it will run on pageplus. They use Verizon's system so the coverage and service would be the same. As long as the esn is good on it.

Whats needs to be done to the phone before attempting to activate on PagePlus?
basically just filled out the account stuff here: http://www.pagepluscellular.com/Online Store/Activate.aspx
once that was done I had the activate phone thing come up and dial out with verizons horrid music..
But I bought mine used lil over a month ago, from cowboom for 150$. (might not be a great deal, but was with AT&T before, 2g towers locally = max of about 150MB used a month, and miserable lol)

You are using a Droid x2 on Page Plus Cellular? I've been looking to go prepaid but most prepaid networks that allow you to bring in other carrier's phones (the X2 is Verizon's) require that it be a GSM phone so you can use the new carriers SIM card. The X2 is a CDMA phone, and they don't make a GSM version. I'm curious how you got it working, because Verizon is driving me nuts and I'm looking to switch.

I did a ton of research on trying to bring my X2 to a prepaid network, and on all the networks I checked it couldn't be done. Then again I've never heard of Page Plus so maybe they can. I looked at Simple Mobile, Boost, and Straight Talk and they all require a GSM phone if you want to bring in your own.
page plus resell only verizon services. so cdma only.

I think your phone has to be rooted for this to work
I'm on page plus too. Root isn't needed nor any flashing involved. Just activate on their site or call in. Doesn't even need clear esn.

Thats awesome. Thought I was going to have to ditch the x2.
Running mine on page plus with no issues

Can confirm dx2 on page plus no flashing needed but I do think it has to have a clear ESN.

I was told they don't use Verizon blacklists so the esn doesn't matter.could be wrong though!

I was able to get PagePlus working on it...thanks for all the replies.
I use my x2 on prepaid and I pay $95 a month and I have unlimited data.

Definitely has to have a clean esn in order for any vzw device to be on PagePlus.
I gave my X2 to my roommate so he could set it up with page plus. He's coming from straight talk. They couldn't get the X2 to activate. Do you guys think the problem could be from the X2 or more likely from somewhere else?

Hello this is my first post using my Droid RAZR. I got it on page plus this morning and everything works but it all ways says in roaming and no service even tho I can call and text and use data too. Is there anything I can do? Thanks and I am loving my RAZR !

I would guess that something got messed up when the phone was flashed/programmed for pageplus. Try flashing it again.
Well would it be in the Dfs software or cdma workshop ? Also my phone says when. I call *228 to update roaming it says your phone has been activated and your so is updating your roaming. So my pho.e works to call and data, text so nothing worth there

I am currently using a Droid incredible on Straight Talk and used the BYOP program to do so. And today, just for sh#ts and giggles I ran my xt912's MEID through their compatibility checker. and it claims that it will work. Now from what I've read online and on XDA I've come to the conclusion that it is not a possibility. I'm just wondering if possibly they (Straight Talk) have made it possible or this an error. Any insight is appreciated thanks.
Try it out!

My mom has straight talk , i have an xt912. currently active with verizon . how can i try it out if it works with her sim ?
The xt912 will not work with her sim from the straight talk sim program that would be T-Mobile of AT&T this phone will not work with them because of the lock on our phones. To use straight talk on this phone u need St byop cdma program which does not give you a sim just uses the old 3g phones and u may have to do some cdma workshop changes like you have to do for page plus, hope this helps
