[q] [samsung galaxy s3 unified toolkit v7.0] - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I updated my UK unbranded s3 to 4.1.2 XXEMB1 and can't find this option in the toolkit.
I was previously on 4.1.2 JZO54K XXELLA. Can I just use that option or will the toolkit be updated to include the new firmware?
Thanks..

If I remember correctly it says it doesn't have to be identical firmware. Example if you are on 4.1.2. Just make sure the numbers match up. It actually says it on the toolkit what to do. If you read the instructions on the toolkit you'll get all the info you need.

I have the answer isn't there, but i will look into another method. I downloaded the toolkit as it was an all in one option.

It says to use a later build. There is no later build than XXEMB1 on the toolkit

This is firmware versions and you could normally expect that the newest (highest number) always is the one to bet your money on ^^
So XWKE7 is the latest firmware upgrade?
How come kies shows I'm up to date with firmware XWKE2?

There is nothing wrong with your new baby...
What you experience now can be compared to the feeling you could have if you suddenly thought there was something wrong with your new chick and everybody else had an upgraded and better one..
Relax and chill down.. Your new girl is just fine ^^
What you could do is to ask yourself if you want to tickle her under the “hood” or wait for the official fix every new girl will get later anyway..
If you would like to be hero or not is up to you…

Hello, I have a 2 doubts: my samsung galaxy s2 is factory unlocked. My first question is: how to see the current firmware into my phone? - Where I can find the latest firmware (XWKE7 - to update via Odin) ?
The second question is: To overclock my samsung galaxy s2(factory unlocked) is necessary and required to root your phone??.
Thanks, regards
so, shall i take it that these are not official updates ?? If so, i am relaxed. But forgive me for the question but i am only a blond girl ).. : i am reading that there are many updates after my version.. and why i am told on kies that 'this device will not get the update.. and at the same time they say that there ARE new updates.. And one more question : when i get ( if I) my update, will it be to the next version .. or it will be to the last one? because my version is very old ... ( xwdc) Thank you for the answer in advance ))))

The answers to your questions takes about 10 seconds if you use the "search" function, something that I politely recommend to you as a new poster - it will make everything easier for you. Why not start now?

These ARE official updates.
This all depends on your carrier. If you are on O2, for example, you will not yet see KE7 in KIES as it hasn't cleared with O2 yet (probably).
What you can do, and the instructions are in the 'Development' section of the forum, is remove the O2 branding from your phone. Your phone is then just 'generic' i.e. it hasn't been modified by O2. This means you get the updates as soon as Samsung release them!

But you may no longer get them via Kies .

Update path one official via Kies requires the phone provider to update the firmware from Samsung and upload to Kies server . Kies update is to latest version phone provider has uploaded .
Path two are Samsung stock roms that we flash ourselves via Odin .
As this may debrand your phone it may and i repeat may effect the warranty from the seller but not Samsungs warranty .Two the upgrade path via Kies may be closed and updates are now stock roms via Odin .
jje
thank you for the answer. I bought my phone from Amazon . uk. , unlocked.. how could i know who is the phone provider???

Its probably generic then you try Kies for an update .No update on very old firmware i would try Samsung Service centre .
jje
:-(( what if my phone is 'generic'? does it mean that i will never get any update ??.. And i really tried Kies.. but i was told that there is no update for my device... Please tell me what does ' generic' mean?.. sorry to be a nuisance .. but i am new at these ...and want to learn ... Unfortunately there is no samsung service in our country .. Anyway, thank you for your answers ))

Galaxy S3 Israeli carrier firmware update

Hello,
I have a galaxy s3 I9300 (international) running on:
AP: I9300JKALE2
CP: I9300JKLE8
CSC: I9300OJKALE6
I've rooted using CF-Root 6.4; I'd like to know how to update my firmware manually, because the Israeli carrier is really bad at releasing updates. Which version should I get? I looked over the list of firmwares but I couldn't find one for Israel.
Would I need to enter any values and settings manually once I update?
Will the new firmware override the rooting?
Basically, what version to download and what is the right way to get it on a rooted phone.
Many thanks in advance

Via the two stock rom, threads or via Sammobile or via Checkfus may find your areas firmware .
Root via Chainfires CF root thread .

Usually not if you upgrade without Wipe.
You may have to enter APN settings manually on Wipe if they cannot be loaded from the SIM-card

Flash with Odin, then re-root the phone with CF-Root.

The problem was that there is no official update for the Israeli orange-partner rom. So checking via sammobile and checkfus didn't give any results because I believe an update especially for Israel doesn't exist yet. I meant in OP which firmware would be closest and safest to flash, considering what I have now. I apologize for not being clearer.

You can flash the latest firmwares found in sammobile, you don't have to use firmwares made for palestine..
They all work.

That makes no sense at all. How can you call a car a cat? Two different things . Anyways have some respect to other members on a public forum, no one needs your political crap about Palestine/Israel its against the rules. I can call Jordan, Palestine as well but I won't. Trust me don't get into politics here, its a modding forum for Christ sakes.
