Hey guyz I wanna install a custom ROM which doesnt have battery drain, app crash and not working, slow performance,etc issues.
Am very confused coz m unable to find any such. So kindly suggest me which ROM will suit me and work well on my device with locked boot loader.
Below are my phone details:
Model: Sony xperia live with walkman (wt19i)
Current Rom: ics 4.0.4(stock)
Root status: Rooted
Recovery installed: CWM RECOVERY
Boot loader: locked
Plz be clear n simple.

Firstly general sections is not intended for such type of threads and we cannot ask the best ROM or ROM with less lag. Just try each and every ROM yourself and the one which suits you the most just go with it. Anyways on locked bootloader you cannot ever expect great performance and asking such type of questions is really not allowed. Reported for now and will be closed soon by the moderators.

I believe this is the wrong place for this topic... it should be in Q&A section I think.
Definitely not the good forum. Also, your question is pretty weird : sim lock has NO link ever with installing custom roms. If you were a bit curious, you would see you've posted in a forum with LOTS of custom roms, so it *might* mean you can set up custom rom...
1) How did he post here if he has less than 10 posts?!?!?!
2) He probably meant rooting, or got confused with all this mess about bootloader, or comes from another device. Use SuperOneClick v1.6.3
Finally i learned to root and sucessfully rooted my XPERIA U,thanx to xda developers staff...
now i want learn to install CUSTOM ROMS onto my phn please help me iam new to this please answer some of my questions below i would be very thankfull for ur answers..
1) what are ROMS..?
2)Where do i get them plz give me the site for downloading them for my xperia U...?
3) How can i install them plz give me easy and safe procedure to install CWM...?
4) Do INSTALLING and FLASHING roms are the same..?
5)what happens if i install the roms of other phones onto my phones..?
6)How to get into recovery mode for my xperia U..?
7) what are KERNELS and how do they differ from ROMS and how to install and where do i get them...?
Any help would be appreciated...

1) read only memory !
2) check the xperia u development section for lots of custom roms ( only 3 or 4 )
4) roms are flashed and apps are installed
5) u will end up sad
7) kernel is a communication between the data and the process ( I read it somewhere bt not sue)

I am new member of XDA Developers. I have been using Sony Xperia Neo L (MT25i) for quite some time. By searching on Google I found out about this site. I am really very excited to know that I can all sort of MOD's on my phone.
But I really need to some basic information, as it is my first time.
1) Upside & Downside of Modding
2) What is deference between Custom ROM and Stock ROM ?
3) What is deference between Custom Kernel and Stock Kernel ?
4) How can I make backup of my phone's Stock ROM & Kernel ?
5) Is there any newbie guide available ?
More Questions coming. And I am kinda lost with all of the topics for Neo L Roms and Kernels .
Any Help will be appreciated.

Stock Rom and Stock Kernel are the ones which Sony gives you when you get the phone...
Custom Roms and Custom Kernels are the ones which the Devs here make...these are the modified ones..with tweaks for better battery, performance..ui changes etc..

You will find that by using the XDA search & advance search features, you should find all your answers.
There are sometimes when you need to do a Google search. Just type in your question in Google and add XDA at the end. This will narrow your results down better.
If you have a question about a specific ROM/kernel/MOD, then ask in the existing thread for said development.
Have fun, and search and read.
The information is out there you just have to read it
Hi team,
i have a problem with Xperia neo V , after long time i want to reinstall custom rom, I can not install custom kernel on device , the first restart after installing the kernel returns to the factory and remains stuck in logo, can not install another custom ROM's, remain im not so newbie i know how to install them , sorry for bad english, pls help !
