Hi All,
I have this particular app called " Jimbl Road Planner " which has the ability to import & export check lists.
Now when I try to import a saved list I get the following error :
"Unable to import. Please re insert SD card ..."
But it doesn't work even after re inserting external SD card.
Could some one please help me solve this problem.
Thanks

check your app settings if you are saving / importing from the external sd card or external_0 sd card, phone storage is external sd card btw, also check if your sd card is working good, take out of the phone and connect it to your pc or laptop, check the folders for your app, or , move all the folders you need to your pc, then format the sd card and try again, hope this helps.

Just insert it android will tell if it needs to format the card.. if it says you need to format it will give the option to format it.

- copy your old SD card to PC via USB cable
- shut down, remove the old card, stick the new one in, turn on your phone
- let the phone format it (will prompt you if needed)
- copy the contents back via USB cable
Can do the above in PC as well, that way your phone will not even notice the card has changed.
will the "format prompt" automatically appear? how will i know if it needs a format?.thanks guys
Yes it will if needed otherwise no.

It's better to format the new card from the phone before using it, this lets you maintain the native file system and prevents any anomalies that can arise from a pre (pc) formatted card. This might also help preventing the auto unmount issue that some users have reported.
Upon inserting the new card and on powering up the phone, go to Settings -> SD Card & Storage, select the Unmount Card option, then select the Format Card. When done Mount the card if not automatically done. Ensure that you have taken a backup (if you have some data on the card) before you format the card.

It is not necesasry to format a newly bought sd card as all sd cards come pre formatted with the file system that suits it best(FAT32). SD Card manufacturers will never ship an unformatted card.
If you get unmounting issues with a new card its prolly not the cards fault but the phone's firmware.
hey guys, it seems that the sd card that i have brought does not need formatting,.i just copied everything to it and it works just fine! thanks again for all your help!!! shalom!^^
Yeah. It doesn't need formatting. Recently I bought a 16gb card, switched off phone, took out my old card, inserted new one phone, went into recovery, partitioned it with recovery, inserted old one in laptop card reader, USB toggle in phone, copy and paste all old SD contents to new one, then disabled USB toggle, restore a nandroid backup with ext4 and finally reboot. Phone was as it was before. But now 16gb from 8gb.

i didn't do any partitioning on mine,.just fed the new card with all my files, and poof,.it works, haha
Hi. im new owner of Samsung galaxy S3. i bought an external card(EXTsdcard) Sandisk in order to transfer files from main memory to external. however when i try to copy-paste a file(like a photo or mp3) with a file manager(es explorer, original samsung file manager cannot recognise ExtSDcard) i saw this message "android open failed: EACCES (Permission denied)"
i went to settings menu->storage->mount sd card select it and i saw this message "preparing SD card"- "Blank SD card"
i dont know if that problem comes from phone or sd card. any help??

i format the sd and galaxy did not recognised it again, but i think the card is problematic(sandisk) and not the phone.
does anyone has the necessary drivers for samsung galaxy s3?
Format it in the phone settings menu. If not working, use h2testw.exe in windows to test using a card reader.
Drivers are in kies although no use to you

Hello Guys.
I own a Samsung Galaxy S iii and I have insterted a Micro SD 8GB Card, which I was using for quite a while.
The other day, while on a trip and taking pictures, the SD Card got full and from that instant forward the phone stopped recognised it for some reason. It gives the following message: - SD Card Blank or it has an unsupported file...
I have also used an adapted to connect it on the computer, but the pc does not recognise it either.
Therefore, my question is: Is there some way I can retrieve the data (pictures) from the SD Card?
Thanks.
Download the sd formatting tool and use your pc to full format the card, if that doesn't work then bin it and buy a new one.
As for the data, the file allocation table probably corrupted when the card was filled. If you search on Google there are programs for the pc that might repair parts of it but I doubt you will get much back, it's like trying to unscramble eggs.

before formatting your sd just try mounting the sd card on your pc with some sd card connectors.

Hello XDA.
This is my first time to come here and register, i heared that XDA is the best android developers website so i came here to request your help.
Lately i bought Lenovo Vibe S1 that comes with 2 Nano-Sim slots but if i'm going to insert a SD Card then there are 1 Nano-Sim slot.
I have a 4GB SD Card. I inserted it to the phone. The problem here that when i copy/move files to the SD Card it doesn't show in the apps. Like, moving Photos from internal storage to SD Card it doesn't appear in gallery. Same as songs, when i move them from internal storage to SD Card they doesn't show up in 3rd music player apps. Unless i unmount the SD Card from the settings and remount it. But it is a pain to unmount and remount when i move anything to the SD Card.
So, any help to fix this?
PS: I don't want to root, flash or install ROMs to my device.
Thank you for taking your time by reading my thread.
I started a Thread before but it was in the wrong section.
Brother what Android OS has your phone? If it is higher than 5.0 backup your files on the Sd Card and then format your Card in your Phone. After that put the files back on the Sd card. This worked for me on Android 5.1.1.

It is 5.0. Anyways, i will try your method and inform you if it worked. Thank you.
I did the method. It worked in Gallery while moving the photos from Internal Storage to SD Card it appears in gallery. But in ****ing music app it doesn't appear.
Which music app are you using? There is sometimes an issue with apps that don't use the sd-card an option called ".nomedia" filter or something like that is checked. Try to find it in your app and uncheck it. I hope that will work.

I use MusiXMatch. And i check my music in Google Play Music to check that it is not MusiXMatch's problem but the same thing. My music aren't in .nomedia. When i unmount the SD Card and mount it again i see the songs.
My files are suddenly started getting automatically from my SD card and whenever I try to transfer any file from internal storage go SD card it shows "Cant fine target path"
It's resolved momentarily after unmounting and then mounting it but the file immediately gets deleted
Don't know if I should try a factory reset or buy a new card?
Any help will be appreciated
Try a new card
