Thanks man I updated the script and it worked(see screenshot 1), but i have some questions
1 We need to start VNC server manually or it starts on its own.
2 i have done the setting provided in install guide but it shows the error
VNC connection failed!
failed to connect to localhost/127.0.0.1 (port 5900):
connect failed: ECONNREFUSED (Connection refused) .
Don't exit before connecting with vnc. exit when you are done completely.

It would seem that backtrack have dropped support for ARM so for the time being we are stick at what we have, but I will try to change this
I'm curious to know if you guys are looking at doing this without VNC? I haven't found much, but here's a video of someone who seems to have figured it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxats9ejrG0
I'm hopeful that as the Ubuntu phone/tablet projects progress, we'll get some useful bits from them, since they're currently built on top of CM10.1.

I am sorry if everyone knows this. we can actually run turbo c++ and old pc games in andosbox emulator which is a x86 emulator in our android phone. Its a best dosbox emulator by far. Its same as Dosbox emulator for windows7. Turbo c++ cannot be run in windows 7. Using Dosbox we can run turbo c++ in windows 7 too.

Ive read for about 3 days and tried everything. Can someone please make a layman's guide on how to get ubuntu on my atrix so that I could use it on my laptop dock.
I am unlocked, rooted with stock rom but willing to change to any rom.
Are you getting the stock webtop when you connect to your lapdock? You should see a desktop, phone window in the upper left, browser window, and and the AWN dock at the bottom.
All that without any modification.

yes I get the stock webtop, but i want to try out ubuntu because the stock one is too boring
A quick search will find you quite a few methods of modifying either webtop, or maybe even installing debian in a chroot environment.
Start by reading the NOOB guide to modifying webtop at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1397583
Webtop is still being understood by many of us, especially how far we can push it before it breaks. I've just downloaded the source and am trying to generate a clean webtop image from it, and down the road seeing if I can create new and updated packages in a repository.
Hey hopeing yous can help me out I am looking for a guide on how to make my own rims I am trying to make a rom that will be native ubuntu with ATRIX 4G drivers (for data and sms)

Through VNC, you will get blank screen with mouse pointer. I've tried on 5 different roms.
Same with me... frustrating
you can try with kernel from CM7 or CM9

I apologize if this has already been mentioned elsewhere, I did skim through the main posts and perform a search for the general topic. This root method is basicly just djrbliss' over @ droidrzr.com except it was massively simplified by another user named marty45714. So essentially this is technically now a method to root xt910 using windows! And its SUPER simple, especially for non Linux users like myself. Here is a direct quote of his post:
"Moderator,
I spent the weekend working on something really lightweight to get this done easily, and I've finally got it working and ready.
Using Oracle VirtualBox with a Tiny Core Linux VM, I've managed to get this down to a 46 MB download.
Everything is automatic... helps the user get connected to SMB, then helps with getting connected with USB debugging before running the exploit.
I spent most of the entire weekend tweaking with Tiny Core Linux to get this ready. Please share. Where's the best place to start a new thread to get the word out about this?
Here are the steps:
1) Install Sun VirtualBox on your Windows PC. [EDIT: Link ---> https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads <--- Provided my MichelBFR, aint he swell? ]
2) Download the VirtualBox .ova file here:
dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/bb53ayj5c3nd5ie/Root_Bionic_JB.ova?token_hash=AAGSOYfPuDXTur_e9qlYl2JRERovPyfMwe-2xNzHXg4Lxg&dl=1 [EDIT: Link dead, see below]
3) Import the .ova file into VirtualBox. (Click "File" then "Import Appliance".)
4) Start the imported VM in VirtualBox (Click the big "Start" Button. It has a green arrow icon.)
5) Follow the instructions on the Linux console."
I also apologize for not coding links etc, I am not an advanced forum user. I just really wanted to share this with anyone who may not have come across this as of yet. If any of you need any further assistance I can try to help as I have successfully used this method and I know absolutely nothing about linux. Enjoy!
EDIT: New link uploaded for step #2 http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?84f3hkx11bpl3fc <---- Thanks MichelBFR!!! [LINK UPDATED]

Well, I'm trying to apply the root on my Razr Maxx, but idk I did something wrong. The process seems to be frozen after the usb connection verification.
Edit: I found the problem. The Virtual Box isn't recognizing the Razr at the USB port. Apparently, the system is conflicting with another request in the same device.

I'll still be improving the code on GitHub so it's more optimised in the future but I'll let you guys do whatever you want with this. Can't wait to see what you will come up with. Enjoy!

Did you install the app with it's dependencies?
If not then try installing the app using Windows Device Portal with the ARM dependencies.

Okay, the app seems to be a bit unstable on Mobile. If you are uninstalling an app, and you relaunch the app launcher, it will crash until the app is completely uninstalled. On desktop it will run anyway.
So try installing the app again with its ARM dependenices using the Windows Device Portal if you haven't already.
If you can't use the portal then you can install the dependencies manually on your phone but you will have no idea when they have finished installing.

There are so many ways of installing this. The easiest way would be to extract the .appxbundle file from the zip and selecting this on the file explorer of your device.
In case that doesn't work, you can try installing the app using the device portal by uploading the .appxbundle file and it's dependencies. More information about the device portal is here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/debug-test-perf/device-portal-mobile
UPDATE: You can now use my app "Package Installer" to this app instead. Thread Link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/wi...mes/appx-appxbundle-installer-phones-t3669665
Don't worry guys, I haven't forgot about his project lol

I've released a new version of this launcher with support for background images and swipe right for Cortana! (I can't really show you it in action because I can't record from my phone at the moment but you do see her icon before the app gets launched.
Download the latest version here: https://github.com/colinkiama/UWP-App-Launcher/releases/tag/v1.0.34.0-beta

I have to admit that the app takes way too long to load (9 seconds on the 950XL!) There is actually a time limit for how long a UWP app should take to start up and I think I'm breaking that limit low end/mid-level devices. This what I think because it works fine on my computer and phone.

I don't know (I didn't write the apps). I could try to rewrite the way that I load all the apps so asynchronously but honestly, I don't have any motivation to even try right now. I'm working on a project that is going to be in the Windows Store.
If anyone here knows c#, the source code is here: https://github.com/colinkiama/UWP-App-Launcher. Feel free to try and fix it yourselves if you really want this to work on your device.
