Hi. I dropped my gplayer 5 and the way I dropped it it landed right on the headphones in cable and pushed the audio jack too far in. I then did something really stupid and tried to pull it out with a tweezer and now its definitely broken. I was wondering what audio jack i need to buy to replace it and if someone can post a link to the thread that shows the 5.0 being taken apart.
Thank you
You might just want to replace your SGP completely

im thinking about adding speakers on the back of my fascinate, kind of like the ones they do for my psp. any advice, tips or anything useful you could give me.
if all goes well ill post an in def tut.
Why? and Where ? i would think making a cover that attaches to rear of the phone that plugs in to the 3.5 mm jack would be better ,so you can use the 5.1 ch surround sound thing ..
Just to show off, I mean I did it to my psp and its awesome so I figure why not my phone

Also the reason why I thought of this is because when I took my phone apart the casing had pins for a speaker and enough room to run speaker wires from it and attatch a small speaker

I recently replaced my screen and now when i plug in my headphones the music only plays through the right speaker. Anybody know why this is happening??
Have you try with other earphone? Maybe the earphone is broken..
Yea i've tried different headphones, the left speaker is always out, if I pull the jack out a little the left side will work but the the right stops so im assuming its some sort of hardware issue but I dont know where to look

You'll have to take the Streak apart and check the jack. It's likely the solder connecting the jack to the board is broken. Either that or the contacts aren't making contact by being bent.
Yea I was inspecting that piece but couldnt tell if anything was defective about it, I think i'll just order another one of that part since thats probably the problem, thanks for your help

Hi,
I received my YP-G70 (US 5.0 Version) in the mail today and I'm loving it so far. The only problem I have with it is that sound won't go through my headphones unless I have the plug in a "sweet zone." The plug can't be all the way inside of the jack or else there is no sound from the speakers and headphones. However, if I pull out the plug then put it in part of the way, the sound works. I should probably note I am using headphones that have a standard 3.5 mm plug (the included headphones have the same issue).
Does anyone else have this problem? How would I fix it? Do I have to send this back?
Thanks.
TL;DR: My headphones don't work unless they're plugged in perfectly and not all the way in. Why?
Send it back
You should probably return it.
If this is happening when you use different headphones is most likely a hardware issue, like a cold solder point.
You should send this back without hesitation.

I contacted Samsung to get that taken care of. Thanks.
I had the same problem, turns out that I didn't have the plug pushed in all the way. I gave it a really hard push and it popped in just a bit more and voila! It worked! Just try it before you bring it back... Let me know how it works, or doesn't...

Hey XDA.... Figured I'd share another helpful hint in the world of cellular communications. So here we go:
If you are listening to your car stereo and supplying music or videos from your phone by the way of a 3.5mm stereo cable from your headphone jack into a 3.5mm jack or RCA adapter into the headunit, you can hear callers over your car speakers and use the phone in headset mode without needing to use the speakerphone. I put the pictured item inline to my phone and it works like a charm. Even the end call button works. I paid $2 open box from BB and they normally sell for 3-4.
Hopefully, others can capitalize on this and make life easier in the car.....

I have one of these( i think i got it from ebay) . Actually got it for exactly the same reason. They are very flimsy and i broke the first one. Got another one and still love it.
I have Samsung Galaxy S2 with MIUI Rom.
I have this some unique issue which i tried looking up on net but am unable to find a solution.
I recently Purchased a Sennheiser MX 170 EarPhone.
When i normally connect this to my S2, the music still plays through the speaker of the phone.
But when i tilt it & put a pressure on it then it plays through the headPhone
& as soon as i remove the pressure it again plays through the speaker.
This happens with most of the headphones, only few earphones do play correctly on my phone.
I dont know if anyone else is facing this issue or not.
But please help me out.
Where the problem is.
Go check or your headset is really complete inside the jack. I also had that when i first got the phone and by iphone.

I am pretty sure your headphone output is broken, at least partially. Depending on the design and material of the headphone plugs, some headphones might work while others won't. I had the same problem. But luckily, it is actually very easy to repair.
You need this: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Orig-Samsung...zer_Ersatzteile_Werkzeuge&hash=item2337019eec
and a screwdriver (just go to a builders store, I got mine there). Luckily there are just 7 screws you need to undo, all the same size.
I found this video helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65pvAINg2ME
from 5:15, the guy explains how to replace the headphone jack.
For me, everything is working fine now!
