yes I found following method to install playstore (old version)
If your tablet did not come officially with the google play store app, try out this method to get it manually. download the zip file here: (http://dploy.in/downloads/2) unzip it and you should find 4 apk files, move them to your tablet`s internal storage or microsd card. Use a file manager app (any one will do, look for one from your pre-loaded app store) and install the 4 files in this order:
1. GoogleServicesFramework-signed.apk
2. OneTimeInitializer-signed.apk
3. SetupWizard-signed.apk
4. com.android.vending-3.1.3-signed.apk
reboot when done and you should be prompted to sign in to your google account if the method worked.
But no methods available for rooting / updating the hcl me y3 tablet.
Plz don't install GoogleServicesFramework-signed.apk, OneTimeInitializer-signed.apk and SetupWizard-signed.apk....just install com.android.vending-3.1.3-signed.apk file.......I have found incoming call problem after installing these 3 files ... .. com.android.vending-3.1.3-signed.apk file works fine for me.......

no you cant update till its officially released ......
but you can install playstore .....
and u can also root it

You can root it using Unlcok root pro
1 : just put your tab into debugging mode
2: connect your devices (y3) with your pc
3 : just start unlock root pro
4 : click on root
5 : and your done
6 :your tab will reboot rooted

hi. im also facing the same problem. but i have already tries reseting it and uninstalling the playstore. still the prob prevails. can u pls tell me how did u get out of this prob?

To fix the problem you have to reset the tab.........to reset it just press and hold the reset button(available on the back side of ur tab) with the help of some sharp objects ie. ball pen,pencil etc..(warning :This will erase all the apps,contacts and messages from the tab) Plz do it at ur own risk
how to solve the problem of incoming call...
BY DOING THIS YOUR DOWNLOADED APPS,CONTACTS,MESSAGES AND GOOGLE ID WILL BE DELETED.
Go to settings>backup & reset>factory data reset>reset tablet
and done your tablet is fixed now,don't worry,same thing happened to me and i fixed it...!

yes it is possible. just use kingo android root. download it and connect ur tab to pc via usb. connect high speed inter net and press root . its done

Hi guys..
You easily Install PLAY STORE on Hcl Me Y3
Step 1:- first of download the "SRSRoot for android" Software on pc and install it and Download play store latest apk file from browser and install it...dont open it!!!!
Step 2:- After, Connect with Debugging Mode....(settings>devlopers setting>mark on debbuging mode)
Step 3:- in SRSRoot software choose - "ROOT Device-all method"
Step 4;- after complete process tablets is rebooting..you can see the superuser apps in tablets screen
Step 5:- now your tablet is rooted...so go to browser n search "system app mover " app's apk file n download
Step 6:- now after install it and open it...it say for download BUSYBOX apps....choose apk download
Step 7:- after you can see in the list of apps...choose play store and move to system app.....your tab is rooted so its move...
Step 8:- Done!!! after restart you have genuine play store....use it,....never get error...

@prashanthhari007, your device may brick if u install SIII rom on ur hcl y3 tab. u can root hcl me tab easily. Just follow the steps.
1. Download and install the hcl usb driver and root genius.
2. after installing usb driver, install root genius software.
3.Open root genius software.Click on root button.....
4. Wait for few minutes. Ur device got rooted... enjoy

You can install playstore via downloading playstore.apk,
u can also update y3 to jellybean by going to the following website hclsupportservice.in/drvr-dwnld.jsp
And u can root easily via rootmaster app

yes, my internet connection is good. but i downloaded fil from some website and then transfer that file to my mobile thorugh bluetooth, when i tried to install. it showed me the above error.

Although there is a way to install .apk directly. You have to allow installation from unknown sources (settings -> security -> unknown sources).
But I'm not sure, maybe phone root is needed.

It's a tricky question coz it depends on your skills with PC but in general it takes few minutes if you have proper USB drives for your phone

If you really want to root, you have to know what firmware do you have (settings -> about -> build number) e.g. "6.1.1.B.1.54" is the latest from sony. I don't have english menu, so I'm only guessing names of menu items.

For USB drivers:
install and run PC Companion from Sony http://www.sonymobile.com/us/tools/pc-companion/
then connect your pnohe to PC and install drivers through PC Companion

if you are using gingerbread, you have to unlock your bootloader first, then you can only root your phone. if you're on ics 6.1.1.10, you can use Root & Restore to root your sola... about 6.1.1.54 version, i'm still not clear about rooting it....

Hi. Don't root needed. Simply go to "settings > security " and tick the "Unknown sources" and OK the message that will appear.
That's it! This is for android icecreamsandwich (4.0.4) version, if you are in gingerbeard (2.3.7) this option may be in other place in settings(instead of security).
Can anyone help me to root my karbonn smart tab 8?
You can root Smart Tab 8 and Smart tab 10 by following the method of rooting used by Ainol Novo 7 Crystal as it uses the same Chipset and is running JB 4.1.1 and almost all the specs are the same too.
Download the Crystal_Root.zip from attachments and copy it to a microSD card (do NOT extract it)
Charge up the battery in your Crystal, Power Off and remove the charger cable.
Insert the microSD card into your Crystal
Get into Recovery mode.
In the recovery you can move with the Volume- button, you can select with Power or Volume+
Select the apply update from EXT option
Select the Crystal_Root.zip, this will install the package
Wait for the update to finish
Select reboot system now
Follow the instructions properly and it should work.

I have made the CWM Recovery using Recovery Builder, made the update zip and signed it too. So can anyone just please test it by flashing it through stock recovery. My tab is not with me right now. I love to help. But i would love to have the original stock recovery image as well, so that in worst case i have some backup method. But still i want to know how to go about it? Any way to backup stock recovery and then load it again if things go wrong ?

I didn t hve enough knowledge about porting rom...but i have li'l knowledge about rooting,flashing rom,cynogenmod.
I hve rooted my 6042D through vroot desktop app...
Our phone has kitkat version so its confirm we can only root it wid pc
Vroot can root ma mobile wid chinese root app....but it can change into supersu through these turtorial.....u can also find vroot download link there...
After rooting ur phone u can also flash cwm mod on it like mine....
I learn these method of generating cwm mod from IIN ( idea internet network)
I can share it wid u....

Please, upload an original firmware anywhere and PM me the link. I'll share it to the comunity with all the credits to you.
You know, for the last two months there was so many fakes about working firmware for this phone... I hope that you've got this one for real.
Did search facebook. The only group i found was "alcatelonetouchflash6042". There are people asking for the firmware, and no links to it.

So i cant upgrade it bcoz i hve cwm mod recovery....
Although i forgot to take backup of stock recovery i also dont knw how to take back up of recovery....

When u want to flash recovery from flash tool.....
U jst need to turn off ur phone then u can flash recovery or etc.
So,non removable battery is not question
Or when phone got bootloop u can turn off phone by press and hold power button untill phone restart n when bootlogo appear 2nd time then screen off release button
Yeah ur phone will switch off although u got boot loop....
Then u can go to recovery by pressing volume down n power button......

I didn t hve enough knowledge about porting rom...but i have li'l knowledge about rooting,flashing rom,cynogenmod.
I hve rooted my 6042D through vroot desktop app...
Our phone has kitkat version so its confirm we can only root it wid pc
Vroot can root ma mobile wid chinese root app....but it can change into supersu through these turtorial.....u can also find vroot download link there...
After rooting ur phone u can also flash cwm mod on it like mine....
I learn these method of generating cwm mod from IIN ( idea internet network)
I can share it wid u....

Now my phone hve cwm mod and its rooted wid super su.....yeah
U can change its font using ifont app and u can also give its support of other langauge.......

Every one who hve 6042D should join it.....
We will post n create best roms in that group.....agar sikhne ki chaah ho to insaan kuch bhi kar skta hai:angel:

Thx. I already saw that post but I didn't understand how to flash it. Mine is already rooted and it has CWM. Firstly I have to mention that I have a TCL S720 not an Alcatel, but it is the same phone as I know (not sure 100% but 95% sure) and I tried to flash the zip from CWM and it said Flash failed. Have I done anything wrong? Should I do it otherwise? Thanks.

Download the root genius.
Download the Rootgenius,search from google and install in your pc and connect your phone,be sure that usb debugging is on when you are connecting your phone to pc.One thing is that you have working internet connection on your pc because this root software download some usb driver file of few mb.You root your mobile in less than three minutes

Hi guys i'm using **Wiko Lenny 2** which is a one of the newest phone of wiko with android 5.1 & build number : ALPS.L1.MP6.V .and i'm trying to root this model i searched online for rooting method & also tried to root using application like King go root,King root,one click root etc but no luck... if anyone knows how to pls help.And thnx in advance

Go to the link that's posted above. Simply flash the kernel and the custom recovery. Once you've got the custom recovery, just install a SuperSu zip from the SD card while you're in recovery mode. Done! SuperSu is the best root manager available!
No need to risk using Chinese rooting tool! You won't know what else is being put on your phone. And you won't have to tolerate any unwanted ads.

this vpndialogs part of system apk which allow to runs vpn on phone.but i deleted to this system apk by mistakes and i need it again but i have not because i delete it.can u give a copy of this vpndialogs apk please?

sorry unfortunately I don't have the phone anymore but I think if you install wiko lenny 2 official rom it will resolve it. (i think you can find the rom on the official site of wiko... I'm not sure or you can search on Google and make sure you have correct rom)
you need to have installed TWRP as well
and installing new rom it will reset all your data.
plz go to the thread that mentioned on comment by CVangelo and let me know your progression

I got a new Set top Box model EC6108V8 and I'm trying to Root this device to install GAPPS. Searching for solution bring me nowhere because this STB ROM is already updated by Vendor of TM UniFi.
Today, I found this recovery img inside /system folder and I wonder if anyone can port this recovery img to CWM @twrp or maybe can add the "INSTALL UPDATE" menu back into it, as it was removed by TM in last update. To flash this img is by using "write_raw" command.
I'm not really sure if this img is port-able. However, it is worth a try by Pro Porter out there. :highfive:

No I am not.
But fortunately, there was some other tricks to install APK files like Youtube, Chrome etc. But I just get struggled to include GAPPS core apps into this STB. Installing Play Services Apk & Play Store manually seems incompleted

Pls guide other tricks to install apk on the latest updated version of hypptv app... Tried so many times and stuck with unknown source locked...

Hi ..
I dont know which version of android ur STB currently using, and I also in doubt for the tricks, maybe its not working for latest udpated version due to security reason.
And also, since there are lots of AndroidBox Tv in market, people are not looking for 'STB hack' anymore
