[Q] Help to Root Smart Tab 8 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anyone help me to root my karbonn smart tab 8?

You can root Smart Tab 8 and Smart tab 10 by following the method of rooting used by Ainol Novo 7 Crystal as it uses the same Chipset and is running JB 4.1.1 and almost all the specs are the same too.
Download the Crystal_Root.zip from attachments and copy it to a microSD card (do NOT extract it)
Charge up the battery in your Crystal, Power Off and remove the charger cable.
Insert the microSD card into your Crystal
Get into Recovery mode.
In the recovery you can move with the Volume- button, you can select with Power or Volume+
Select the apply update from EXT option
Select the Crystal_Root.zip, this will install the package
Wait for the update to finish
Select reboot system now
Follow the instructions properly and it should work.

Enter Recovery By Shutting Off & then Keeping the Volume DOWN Button Pressed Along with Power Till the Tablet Boots up. Then Let Go of the Power Button, But Keep the Volume DOWN Button Pressed.

Strange that this tablet is using JB Phone UI. We can change it to Tablet UI which looks much better. Can someone tell me what's the value of lcd density in the build.prop.???

I have also successfully swapped the internal and external Cards in the device again using your vold.fstab file
I registered here just to thank u mate and even disclose that your found exploit really work's on ST8.

I have made the CWM Recovery using Recovery Builder, made the update zip and signed it too. So can anyone just please test it by flashing it through stock recovery. My tab is not with me right now. So please let me know whether it's working or not so that I can release it officially. Download the zip from the attachment.

Even i am looking for the same At least i want to experience it once. So that i can decide which one suit me better. Anyone knows how to do it? BTW my device is rooted.

I love to help. But i would love to have the original stock recovery image as well, so that in worst case i have some backup method. But still i want to know how to go about it? Any way to backup stock recovery and then load it again if things go wrong ?

To go to Tablet Mode install Apex launcher and choose tablet mode. Its great
My Question: How to unroot and revert to stock? Before anybody roots this escape plan should always be there.
