for starters look in the development section and follow each and every instruction to the T.
1.4.3 is annoying to work with from what I hear. You should've just rooted it and installed a custom rom. You wouldn't be dealing with this in the first place...

1.4.3 is pretty easy to root. I had no problems with it at all.
Of course the only thing I did with it was root, install CWM Recovery, and put CM9 on it.

i always back mine up on the internal sd card andhave a rom in there just in case..others may do it differently, but there are many options recovery allows you to download from pc via usb... but its better to always have a back up on your internal card in my opinion.. because in some cases you can lose access to the external sd card..just my opinion..just remember to take your time and read/follow instructions VERY carefully!!!

if you dont have room on internal sd card..then yes get an external sd card(you should always have one) and move some stuff over like media..etc

You might be misunderstanding on the sd card, you have an internal sd the phones drive, this is where I put my ROMs to flash. The external sd that you can put into the phone is or can be your backup, I use an external meaning I can remove it, this is where I put my backups of items.
I only use the built in drive internal sd for storage of my ROMs to flash. There are lots of video on this subject, just do a youtube search on the subject.
While we are at it, if you are on a computer check my links in my signature, I have a {General information and Helpful Tips} section for some good reading and the GNote Super page also for all your flashing needs. And you can PM me or just keeping posting lots of good folks around that will help.

Honestly, you need to use the search function. Read everything you can. If you have to ask if you're wrong, you're wrong about something. I know you don't like to hear this, and I also know you don't want to ruin your device. If you don't take the time to read and research, you won't understand the Rom that you flash anyways thus leading to more questions from you that can be solved by searching and you will only annoy the developers and ruin things for everyone because you developed bad habits of wanting things dropped in your lap. No one is here to hold your hand through the process when there's a wealth of information at your fingertips. All of the people that have accomplished flashing their phones have done so without a thread like this begging for a walkthrough. With all due respect, follow the rules because nobody is responsible for damage to your phone, but yourself.

I wasn't asking them to thank me. I was reminding them to thank those who helped them. You would know that if you read as per the forum rules. You know what else is part of the forum rules? Using the thanks button. Imagine that. Perhaps you should spend less time trolling me and spend more time watching the Official XDA Welcome video. Seems like you still need it. Can anyone help me to root my karbonn smart tab 8?
You can root Smart Tab 8 and Smart tab 10 by following the method of rooting used by Ainol Novo 7 Crystal as it uses the same Chipset and is running JB 4.1.1 and almost all the specs are the same too.
Download the Crystal_Root.zip from attachments and copy it to a microSD card (do NOT extract it)
Charge up the battery in your Crystal, Power Off and remove the charger cable.
Insert the microSD card into your Crystal
Get into Recovery mode.
In the recovery you can move with the Volume- button, you can select with Power or Volume+
Select the apply update from EXT option
Select the Crystal_Root.zip, this will install the package
Wait for the update to finish
Select reboot system now
Follow the instructions properly and it should work.
THANKS
THANK YOU SO MUCH BUDDY IT WORKED

No Issues in moving Apps to SD Card
Hey Chaps,
Whoever, has this app vanishing issue, did you try installing ES File Explorer, I insist since the built in file manager is not all pervasive.
I have moved one app to the SD card, rebooted, still launching and working fine.

I tried to unmount the sd card before rebooting the phone. And then after rebooting it automatically mounted the card and miracally the apps apps appeared again! But after that when I tried it again then the apps were gone as usual. I suggest you try it with only one app so that you don't loose all the apps again like me.

It installs its own superuser app for app permissions. You can anyways install a different superuser app from play store.

Hi all,
I have such a device too. I found no custom rom for it.
I have another problem. Did one of you have problems with updating the firmware? I am stuck on the FW from 2013 and I can not install the one from Archos Homepage -.-
And another strange thing: I only have 8 Megapixels! Whats wrong with my device? It is definetly an oxygen 50 (no b no c)!
I rooted it, but I just can not install this original FW.
Any help would be great

Hi !
I've the latest version of the firmware installed on my device. How do you try to install it ? On Archos's French website, it's written to download its software to install the firmware. And I check with Antutu Benchmark, and I've 13,4 Mpx. Maybe you should delete datas of your camera , or re-install it ?

Hi! Thx for your answer! I tried to install it like it is discribed on the archos Homepage. I put the *.zip in the root of my phone and it should automaticly start the installation.
My phone just dont recognizes this file and if I start the installation manually, it displays a failure during the installation.
I am new to android. So I dont know how to reinstall a firmware -.- Factoryreset didnt change anything.
It would be kind of you, if you could help me. The community is very small for our divice ;-(
If you want to know, I rooted it with frameroot 1.9.3

Hi again,
I have read about CWM recovery... Maybe this is a way to flash the update manually? So I downloaded "RomManager" and started it. This Program wants to install CWM recovery but my device is not supported. Maybe I am on a good way, but I am scared to go on. I dont want to destroy my phone.
Maybe you can help me with that or you have any other ideas?
Greets Lupus_3
Hi !
I think you should try to install it from the recovery mod... You have to shut down your phone then you will have to restart by pressing the volume down button AND the power button. Then you will arrive in a menu. Navigate with volume buttons to "install zip from sdcard" then select your .zip ROM...I'm not sure it will work...but it should

For CWM, I think ROM manager is not important...you have to put cwm file (.zip) at the root of your phone, and then install it as I explained above for the firmware... You can easily find the file on the web...but as you, I don't know what will happen if your phone is snot supported.

Hi!
Thanks for your reply! I allready tried it via recovery, as you explained. The installation begins, but it ends in a failure: "invalid partition setting 20". It is realy strange. Can you dump your Rom and send it to me? Is there a way? Or do you have a recovery ROM or something like that? I am scared to install CWM, because its not supported

Well, I think you could search if someone had the error message you had on another device. I don't understand : could you explain what you want me to do with my firmware ?
And, I know it's stupid but...what's happen when you go in settings -> about phone -> system updates ?
Sent from my Archos 50 Oxygen using XDA Free mobile app
I searched for it allready with no luck
If I try the OTA update via wifi, it says "networkconnection failed" and "System is up to date" (translated).
Forget my idea with your firmware. I think, it will not work, without custom bootloader
I just have no clue what I could do. I think the only way would be a custom bootloader, but I am too scared... And I think we will never get support for our phones -.-
Could you please check your "Build-Number" in settings -> about phone -> Build-Number (at bottom) and post it?
Greets Lupus_3
Well I think I'm up tout date

Yeahhh! Congrats! You have the FW I want to install ^^ How many points do you have in Antutu Bench? I have somewhat about 17000. I have to restart my phone once a day or some games crash... It would be nice if I coud install a backup from your FW ^^ But without custom bootloder...
I wrote my story in 3 forums and you are the only one responding... Thanks for that! Do you have any software with your phone? Maybe a program for PC? I have nothing..
Greets Lupus_3
For the benchmark...I've the same
Sometimes it freezes but it's quick. I just had big problems (I had to reboot my phone) with apus launcher...

You're welcome For the backup of my firmware, no problem, I just have to think about how to extract and send it

Ah, ok. So my phoneporformence seems to be ok. I thougt there could be a problem, because my offlinemap in c:geo is very slow... My Nokia 808 is a lot faster with that. I thougt quadcore would be fast ^^
I have RAM Booster installed and it speeds ab the sytem a little, but not mach.

I think for extracting and installing your FW both of us need a custom bootloader... But maybe I'm wrong ^^ Rooting is easy, but this loaderthing is not ;(
Greets Lupus_3
Yeah we are both rooted so there is a solution...I think there is an app to do that And I will search a custom bootloader I've a little ram booster, but I know that we can swap ; it means that you let some space (maybe 512Mo) in your internal storage and it is adding to your RAM
But, I had a question, do you have any problem with network ? I mean that I enable or disable datas but it's not working..

It would be great, if we could find a way to install a custom bootloader savely!
So you expand your ram with a program? Does this work good? What is the name of that program?
I do not do anything with mobile internet on that phone, so I can not give a good answer to your question. But I can say everything is fine via wifi!

I found something here: http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-un...-root-asusgoogle-nexus-7-on-jelly-bean-4-2-1/
It is a Guide for the Nexus 7 on Android 4.2.1... As far as I know our Android is an untouched one like on the Nexus-devices.
But I do not know if we could use this guide, because it is 4.2.1...

Welll....I think that it's a great idea to unlock the boot loader But I am not an android professional so I don't know lots of things about boot loader

I find on a French website that unlocking bootloader allows you to install customs Roms but you won't be able to update firmware with a computer or OTA !
Maybe I get something very helpful !
Have you ever installed ROM installer from Jrummy Apps ? Maybe you could install your .zip firmware In addition, maybe I will be able to backup my firmware to a .zip if yours is not valid
I'm searching about that
Im not a professional too, but maybe we can achive something together I had a ROM loader installed, but you need to install this CWM for doing something good with that. That was the point where I stopped ^^
But maybe your loader is anotherone? I dont really know.
Greets Lupus_3
Hi !
I'm searching a way to send you my firmware but I don't find yet. My app actually don't work without a custom bootloader. But maybe I can extract it directly from a computer ? Maybe this is a good way

I don't know if you can read French but I find something interesting ! If I understand well what is written, you can extract different parts of your firmware from your computer.

Hi!
I can not find a way without having that bootloader... THX for your help, but I can't read french. I had russian at school ^^ The german sites dont help either -.-
