Xbox 360 controller with evo 3d gsm? - HTC EVO 3D

I read people connect ps3 controllers to their evo 3d, but i do not own one, unfortunately. I do own a pair of xbox360 controllers, and since i do not use the console anymore because of its outdated graphics, i was wondering... Is there any way i can connect it to my phone?
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using xda premium

Outdated Graphics?
Not even gonna comment on that..
I haven't found a way yet, I'll look into it.

Wait, so you're ditching your Xbox's "outdated graphics" and going onto a phone's"super dated graphics"?
That makes a lot of sense.
Anyways, a OTG should work fine if your kernel supports it.

No guys, outdated graphics compared to pc, not phone, lol . Anyway, the otg I doubt will work, since my controllers are wireless and i have tried using a play and charge kit as "cable", but nothing happened, even though my kernel supports otg, I tested with a few flash drives and they worked

The reason why ps3 controllers work is due to their use of Bluetooth, the 360 controllers use something completely different.

The play and charge kit is not even close to an OTG cable. You need a completely different cable for that.

Unfortunately i kinda knew that, but i have not seen any other type of cable for them. Also, the play and charge does support data transfer, but it is disabled through the driver in windows...

[Q] Can you play Crysis in HTC Evo 3D?

Can you play Crysis in offline autostereoscopic 3D on low settings in Windows 8 which is emulated on a VirtualBox that is installed on an Ubuntu that is installed on Android on HTC Evo 3D where Crysis is in the HTC Evo 3D's microsd (or in a USB flash drive that is connected to a USB hub that is connected to a projector and that USB hub is connected to a USB OTG cable that is connected to the HTC Evo 3D)?

Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using xda premium
There isn't a single mobile GPU right now that could even begin to render Crysis at 1 fps.
What 3D Windows games can you play in HTC Evo 3D?
ok, I was serious j4n87 because I'm thinking what Windows games I can play on HTC Evo 3D if I were to buy an HTC Evo 3D.
Thanks poweroutlet.
How about this?
What 3D Windows games can you play in offline autostereoscopic 3D on low settings in Windows 8 which is emulated on a VirtualBox that is installed on an Ubuntu that is installed on Android on HTC Evo 3D where those games are in the HTC Evo 3D's microsd (or in a USB flash drive that is connected to a USB hub that is connected to a projector and that USB hub is connected to a USB OTG cable that is connected to the HTC Evo 3D)?
I'm thinking none.
Just running Windows 8 through emulation in Ubuntu would cripple the Evo 3D. Let me put it this way, you probably wouldn't even be able to play minesweeper. Not even a top of the line Mac should be able to play crysis through an emulated OS... That and the fact that crysis wasn't arm compiled. So even if you had a Windows 8 arm version, you simply can't play everything. Just what's was compiled for arm processors...

Tv out, how does it work?

Just as the post says how does it work, I have the feature on my Rom and I went to Best Buy and bought their $50 dollar cable but I got nothing on my TV's. I think I got audio once but no picture so other than plugging the cable into the phone and into the tv and turning it to the right input what else us there because I did all of that?

Ya you do need to connect the wall charger, but for some reason does anyone know why it doesn't actually charge my phone? While using it my power drains very slowly.
The mhl adapter and phone is being charged at the same time. It's a weak charge to begin with when you aren't displaying anything. Just have to deal with it.

I knew this was going to happen, I am not talking about mhl's, I know how that works. I'm talking about the function where you can use the headphone port to use a RCA type cable to play or send images and or videos to your tv.

I'm pretty sure that even though the ROM you're on may support it that this phone isn't capable of it. I've never heard of anyone getting that to work. Let us know if you do figure it out though. I just don't think that the headphone jack can output video. It only does audio. I believe its a hardware limitation.

You know that some roms are ported from other phones. Some settings will make its way over. There might be a setting for this, but from what I have been told is that the hardware will never support it.

3VO to external hard drive

Is it possible for me to connect my phone via usb cable to an external hd? And transfer files ?
I have a bunch of movies on my phone, id like to transfer them to a hd, and than connect the hd to my bluray player, so they are always at my disposal.
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using Tapatalk
Not yet AFAIK.. what your looking for is called usb host. And you would need a cable too. We need support from a kernel as long as hardware supports it.. not sure if it does.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
I don't know what the hell a 3vo is, but I know my Evo 3D can't do it. I know Ice Cream Sandwich is supposed to have USB device support, so maybe we'll see it when that comes around.

Usb host/usb on the go

Does anybody here know if the evo lte is compatible or is working with that kind of cable?
Some places I read that is the kernel and this phone is not compatible, but other places they are selling the cable and saying it works.
Also someone tried transfering pictures using nfc?
I can transfer youtube or website links, or contacts; but not able to transfer pictures.
Sent from my EVO using XDA
I have tried this with two different host cables and it does not seem to work for me (works just fine with my xoom). It sucks that they would not include this as this is part of Android since 3.2. HTC needs to fix this.
Ok, thanks for the info, I hope htc fix this soon, is a good feature to have.
Sent from my EVO using XDA
Yea you can't send picture using Nfc. Samsung tweaked s beam to do it using Wi-Fi direct and I'm fully expecting Google to assimilate that into 4.1 or whatever jellybean will be.
With usb otg it's in ics but needs to be enabled in the kernel. So hopefully when the source is dropped we can get that done. Don't know why they would do that from the beginning.
Sent from my EVO 4G LTE
Yeah I thought i saw somewhere nfc being use to transfer photos but then thats what it is. It would be nice if it was a nfc feature.
Hopefully htc makes an update to use usb on the go.
Sent from my EVO using XDA
I saw that bump to send feature in the new Windows Phone 8 keynote. I'm assuming it uses NFC to initiate some WiFi connection for transferring.
If we can get USB hosting to work, that would be awesome!

Most basically it allows you to mount usb drives. Full functionality allows you to plug in controllers and other usb devices which the OS has drivers for. In the case of my asus transformer it allows the use of 3g dongles as well as flash drives.
Awesomesauce has OTG enabled in the kernel, but i don't know of any rom that has auto mounting baked in, i had to use a 3rd party app to mount my drives and even then it was a little clumsy and took forever to mount.

OTG adapter with ps3 controller?

Now that I believe this is supported with JB on our phone has anyone used a ps3 controller to properly play any games like GTA 3? If so is it as simply as plug and play or so you have to go through a setup and tweak it to your needs like the Sixaxis controller app is? Where did you purchase your otg adapter/how much was it? Thanks in advance.

OTG does work on JB, BUT it won't read ps controller with six axis... Tried millions of times. Flash CMX... pair controller... And then flash back to sense or whatever and it will work flawlessly. This is what I do and GTA will automatically read the controller... No need to set a profile or anything
***Your Tears Are Sweet Ladies & Social Rejects***
You don't need the cord to connect them if it the dual shock (wireless).
Install sixaxes on the phone and run it. On the bottom it will show the bt address.
on a computer, install the sixaxis connection tool and run it. next, connect the Sony controller to the computer using a mini usb to usb cord. A dialog no will pop up. In the there will be a master #. Below that is an input box. Copy the bt address from the phone into the input box in the pop up on the computer. and submit it.
Now disconnect the controller from the computer. Hit the start button on on the phone. Next hit the connect button on the controller. You should now be paired.
Then buy a GameKlip and rock out games on your phone...
I love my GameKlip.

I never use a cable. Just use the Sixaxis app and my PS3 controller and play wireless. It's 2013, we don't need no freaking wires between our devices!! Lol
PS3 controller with Sixaxis app and HTC Media Link makes my Evo LTE like a PlayStation. HDMI-miniHDMI in place of the Media Link makes my Asus Infinity like a PlayStation. Though I have a PS3 and an XBOX right beside them, it's just fun to do on my mobile devices just because I can, haha.

So your saying that if I flash this... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851912 and then hook my ps3 controller up to my phone it will automatically work? Then I can restore or do I have to flash a fresh new ROM? After a full wipe this won't wipe clean the ps3 controller connectivity? Also I'm currently on MeanBean if I go from JellyBean to CMX then back will I have any problems? I'm S-ON with the latest HBoot and all. Thanks for your help.

Its as simple as this. Have SIX AXIS APP... FLASH CMX... PAIR CONTROLLER. It will stay paired on any Rom because the main Bluetooth address will be set to your phone instead of ps3.
