Hello, I have an android Sony Xperia Arc, I bought it in Mexico but now I'm in australia and when I use a sim from here (yes optus) it says that I have to enter the Sim network unlock pin. My question is: how do I know the PIN? or is there any other solution so I can use the optus sim with my mexican phone?
These forums are not for sim-unlocking your phone, but the steps you could take are:
!: Ask your Mexican provider for the emma/imei code to unlock your phone. (That may be free if you bought your phone on contract and your contract has expired)
2: Use the Omnius-software to sim-unlock your phone (You will have to pay)
3: Take it to a shop to have it unlocked (You will have to pay)
Good luck.

Does the message come after you've typed the actual pin? If yes, you can click "dismiss", and access your phone.

Hi, just a quick question because I have been a CDMA user for a long time now and don't have any experience with GSM phones. Is it possible to use a T-Mobile prepaid SIM card in an unlocked HD2 and not have to carry a contract. And if so, what all needs to be unlocked, the phone and SIM or is it an all in one deal?
Thanks,
An unlocked phone could work with any sim carrier ever.
For unlocking, u could buy the unlock code from any unlocking service on the net
Thank you for the response.
Hi
I am looking for some help for Japanese Motorola-Photon.
I have purchased Motorola-Photon (Japanese version) with Au-Kddi carrier.
Now, I want to use Photon with Softbank carrier. When I am putting softbank sim, it is asking unlock code.
I know that some web-site give unlock by paying $30. but I am looking for any other work around.
Is there any other way (Free mode) to unlock it and use with Softbank carrier?
I hope that some one will help on this.
Thanks.

Any help on this????
My only idea is do a factory restore in recovery and see if it flushes out the lock code.
The KDDI radio opens the US phones, no sim locking problems.

It sounds more like the sim card is locked and not the phone. I don't think they lock the phones in Japan?

Hello to all xda community, I have an XU from Yoigo and I want to unlock sim in order to use with another company. I don't have the possibility to use any sim unlock service because I'm a minor. If there is any way to get sim lock code and get my XU free please tell me.

to my knowledge, that's not the sim, is the device, telecommunication companies close the bands to that of another operator sim not work.
to open the bands must physically manipulate the device.
I'm not sure which to do so tutorials are on XDA, I just wanted to make correction that is not sim.

I bought a Moto E in Chile several months ago. It came with a SIM card from the company Claro, but they assured me it was unlocked. I switched the SIM to my Entel SIM card, and it worked fine. I took a trip to the U.S. and tried to use a SIM card from someone else's phone, but it asked for a PIN. I just figured the SIM was PIN locked, gave up and forgot about it. Now I'm in Colombia, and I tried several SIM cards from Claro, but they don't work. With my Chilean Entel SIM card, I still get roaming network access, but if I put any other SIM in (even my Chilean Claro SIM), I get no signal. Bizarre because the phone was originally a Claro phone.
So did the Entel SIM card somehow lock my phone to Entel?? That's the only explanation I can think of... If so, how can I unlock it?

Bands might not be supported! That's the best probable explanation since you have an unlocked phone, inserting a sim shouldn't lock it!

I checked that just in case, but the bands are supported. Anyway, if the bands weren't supported I wouldn't get roaming access with my Entel SIM either, right?
The people at Claro (and at Movistar too) told me I need to contact the store where I bought the phone and ask them for an unlock code. Unfortunately I don't have the receipt with me in Colombia, and I don't remember which store I bought the phone at... I guess I'll try just emailing every store I might have bought it at, but if that doesn't work, what other option do I have?
hi, I have two phones blackberry priv and zte axon 7. they seem to be unlocked, because when I insert sim card they won't ask for unlock code. originally phones were for Movistar Costa Rica, I bought them on ebay and want to use in europe. but when I insert sim cards they don't get service or any signal, but recognize that sim is inserted and even read sim card number. any idea what can be causing this? btw I can't change anything from secret menu when I call *#*#4636#*#*. please advice me something, thank you very much
someone any advice?
