Hi guys I am sorry I've been reading a gazillion articles today and I simply got very confused with all this things. All I want to do is install CWM and then install CM10 or 10.1 on my ST15i. Bootloader is already unlocked with official Sony guide and Bootloader code I didn't know if it had to be done before root but I did it anyway. I tried many MANY options including Flashtool, RecoverX and some other things. I do have everything setup but I think I am having problem with my baseband. It's 4.0.2.A.0.84 and I don't see 84 anywhere. Can you please just at list point me on where I can find 84 root instructions or may be downgrade to other baseband cause I do see some older baseband rooting instructions in here.
Thank you very much. I really can use some help.

this is not q and a
here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837863
though u don't need anything else if u have an unlocked bootloader,
download the rom, and gapps
extract to pc and copy to sd
flash boot.img in fastboot
boot into cwm(u'll have after you flash kernel)
flash zip from sd card, romm and gapps.
Okay this is what I call "From last dying breath" I found this life saving post. I was be able to downgrade to 42 using flashtool 0.9.10.1, then root device with same tool, then use RecoverX to install CWM and ...well then I did backup of my current system and that's it.
Thank you guys for bringing all this knowlege I guess if you search long and hard enough you'll do it cause it's out there. In my case it was just that I didn't see that baseband and android version have nothing to do with each other ...like 4.x.x should be ICS right ? ,,,,no it still showing Android 2.3.x
Anyhow thanks a lot !

Sorry, my bad it's just late totally fried in here.
Just flash any pre rooted kernel with cwm and then no need to root it again. Anyways if u want to root.84, then follow the same method that is for .62 and u might be successful. Please let me know if u cud do it
Press THANKS if I helped,
Best Regards,

the .84 baseband is GB based ...you will need .587 ICS baseband(Baseband 77) for CM 9.1,10,10.1
Upgrade to ICS .587 (there are bunch of ftf here and there )
then follow this instructions
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_smultron
Get the release wither from CM or from FXP ..Both are same usually ...FXP is weekly ...
Root is not needed to flash ROMs with unlock Bootloader ..The fastboot kernel has recovery and is prerooted usually
The problem is .431 and .587 are on ICS bootloaders (Baseband 77)\
and 0.62 and 0.84 is on GB bootloader ..(Baseband 84)
.84 may be newer firmware but it is still GB ..
Upgrade to ICS for CM

Hi
If you follow the forum you will find some posts of me trying to have last fw .62 rooted with CWM working. Even if some users can do it by OTA, other by other process I never have total success but like most of you…I simple wont to have last fw .62 working, rooted and with CWM also working. The best I get was .62fw rooted but without CWM working and if install fw.62 by the traditional way I just get SE logo and have to flash it again.
After several times I finally have it work…
The only thing I have so far is that I believe I flash what I think is last baseband and after I flash it my computer says I have a new fw to install!!
This process is using pieces of ideas from others so I just get a way of put all together and have it working for me and decide to share with you.
Like always you can try it at your own responsibility.
Fist you should have .42 fw installed.
Root it.
Install CWM XPERIA from market (not the traditional way)
Download this and put it on your SD card: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sea...tloaderlock/generic/generic620.2.zip/download
Reboot NEO on CWM and install the file.
Reboot your phone and install the previous downloaded file.
At this time you have fw .62 without kernel.
Reboot your phone again and again go to the icon of CWM and reinstall again CWM.
Put you phone off again and flash just the .62 kernel. You can use .62 complete fw and choose only to install kernel.
At this point you should have .62 fw with .62 kernel.
On my case I install CWM again just in case.
If you reboot and press down volume you will have access to CWM.
I flash what I read that was last baseband using this file: http://www.mediafire.com/?tfd8bdbdrcd4bpq (after that my computer advice me to update phone…don´t know way)
For those that consider my guide too nooby…guys was the only way I found…sorry.
For those that somehow contribute with links to have it compiled I thank them.

Hello guys
I´m a newbie in this new phone... i owned an HTC HERO that i was completely good on rooting, installing ROMS etc...
But i´ve got this phone now.
Did a lot of research, read a lot of things but i´m not sure. Hope you guys can help me.
My Xperia mini pro is on its stock(factory) rom:
android 4.0.4
baseband 8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028G-72
2.6.32.9 kernel
version 4.1.B.0.431
I´ve tried a lot of apps to root it(superoneclick, z4...) but none of them worked.
I´ve read that to root it, it should downgrade to another android version, root and them upgrade.
Is that correct? Or this device with this version of android and baseband can be rooted?
Thank you
Sergio.
It can't be rooted as it is now.
Either unlock the bootloader and install a pre-rooted kernel, or downgrade to GB and root it following THIS tutorial.
Also, if you read it already, I don't really understand why you are still asking how to do it

ICS Firmware is impossible to root directly so far , you need to downgrade your phone to an older GB firmware if don't want to unlock bootloader here's the tutorial it's working 100%
Ok.. understanding more now...
which one is "safer" downgrading or custom kernel direct?

It's not bad if you try to install custom kernel with locked bootloader. The installation won't succeed as custom kernel has no official signature, so the installation won't be done.

I used the dwn gradng process,,,nw rooted.

i advice yhu Unlock BL first using Test Point Method den install Custom Pre-Rooted Kernel or get a good Pre-Rooted ROM!!!
Test Point Method:- http://androidflip.com/unlock-xperia-phones-bootloader-without-losing-drm-data-track-id-working/
i used dat for my mini pro.....
Both methods are interesting......
Anyway, thank you very much guys, really.
Will try any of them soon.
Hi again Guys,
I need an info here.
I´ll downgrade the mini pro to GB and root.
After that, should i flash the ICS via flashtool or can i update it from SUS/Pc Companion or OTA?
In which case from SUS/PCCompanion or OTA i will loose the root?
Or i should ignore it and update via Flashtool?
I did not understand that part of the guide(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695514)
try to make in a few words(correct me if i´m wrong):
Download GB firmware and flash using flashtool
Root via Doomlord
The part III(preparation to root 4.0.4) ok.
After this, this is my doubt. Should i Flash ICS from flashtool or update it by SUS/PCCompanion/OTA ?
Flash GB.
Root it.
Run push_local.prop.cmd
Upgrade to ICS:
a) Using Flashtool -> Make sure you don't Wipe data. uncheck that box.
b) Using PC Companion / SUS -> Make sure you choose not to wipe data, too.
Run the other file which name I don't remember
That's all
ICS is not available via OTA.
Doesn't matter how you update, as long as you do the 01-....cmd file before updating.
If you use Flashtool, make sure to uncheck Wipe Data option.

So can anyone tell me how I can root this firmware?
Also can I go back to stock GB? if yes please tell me how.

Does this method require unlocked bootloader? I mean the one involving flashing .10 kernel and then back .54 one. Sorry for the "noobish" question, but I just began to explore the root/flashing aspects of my XGO and the proccess is completely different from my previous samsung phone, so it's like begining from zero point again at knowledge.

Thanks for the reply. Indeed I managed to root, install CWM recovery and flashed my first rom at my XGO.
Another "noobish" question if you can answer is that I backed up my rom before flashing the custom rom, yet in the clockwordmod folder in internal memory now there is nothing in it. Did the flashing erased my back up? So I cannot get my original FW, since I didn't back it up at my pc? I mean I had greek FW branded to a carrier, so if I need to send it to service, how am I supposed to get it back? To be honest I didn't see a such situation coming so I was unprepared. No i didn't. I still have locked bootloader. that's why i flashed v4 rom for locked bootloader. Yet I may try v5, since it's compatible with LB as well. just i'll have to flash the boot.img through flashtool if I remember correctly from what I read in that thread.
hi.
i have a "lww". im root. my model is wt19a 4.0.4 build 4.1.B.0.431 kernel [email protected] # 1.
can i flash any kernal for my phone? if no, does it have to be compatible by build or model?
First of all to install custom kernel You need to unlock bootloader. Not every phone can be unlocked, cause it depends if Your phone's bootloader unlock status is yes or no. You can check this in service menu (in dialer tap *#*#7378423#*#* [ *#*#SERVICE#*#* ] ) and go to Service Info and Configuration. There should be rooting status.
It's also good to make .FTF files from Your ROM to use them in flashtool BEFORE any modifications. Just in case http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075736

Thanks for the reply.
my bootloader says yes. now i thought the whole thing witht the bootloader was for rooting. like i mentioned before i am rooted. i have already made a backup of my stock rom if thats what you mean by making my own .ftf file. dude where is the thank you button?
Nope, rooting Your device will give You access to system partition, but it doesn't allow to change kernels.
Backup in .zip is fine, but I suggest to make a .ftf. It will help You to "unbrick" Your phone if something bad happen (cause if it's problem with ROM U have to flash any working ROM anyway, but if U unlock Your bootloader SUS and PC Companion won't work, so the only solution is to flash it using flashtool). Also .ftf will allow You to revert software to stock one, with branding, customization etc. (if U would like to use warranty for any purpose stock ROM and branding are necessary).
So if bootloader unlock status is yes - then U are able to unlock Your bootloader and install any custom kernel. Check this thread, it will help You with everything. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2148684

Also .ftf will allow You to revert software to stock one, with branding, customization etc. (if U would like to use warranty for any purpose stock ROM and branding are necessary).
So if bootloader unlock status is yes - then U are able to unlock Your bootloader and install any custom kernel. Check this thread, it will help You with everything. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2148684

i found that thread last night thats why i posted this question.
my boot loader says yes. i also flashed cwm using recoverx.
just to be sure. with my phone software the i mentioned above ^^. using lets say flashtool i can flash any kernal rom combination even if it .587, or for lets say or the wt19i?
thanks again for the help.
No, not every combination will work And flashtool is used to repair phone, not to flash custom ROMs. There are some ROMs working on stock kernel (which U have now) - mainly based on stock .431 or .587 software. U can flash them using recovery (which U have now). To be honest I don't know what are the differences between wt19i and wt19a. But as a experiment (lol) I flashed baseband from SK17a into my SK17i and everything was ok. That's why I told U to create a ftf package, which will allow U to flash stock ROM if something went wrong.
So, for now:
If U would like install any ICS ROM (based on original Sony .431 or .587 compilation - You can try it right away.
If U would like to flash CyanogenMod ROMs (CM7.2 [android 2.x GingerBread], CM9 [android 4.0.x IceCreamSandwich], CM10 [android 4.1 JellyBean], CM10.1 [android 4.2 JellyBean], CM10.2 [android 4.3 JellyBean] ) and other based on it, U will have to unlock bootloader at the first place and then flash kernel suitable for Your device (LWW is coded as coconut) and then flash ROM.

im sorry i asked so much. as your aware im a noob. till now i only rooted/flashed a galaxy 5 (not s5). it was so easy.
i assume im going to use cwm to flash the kernel, am i wrong?
if not a tutorial link will be fine and ive got all the points. and this is one hard phone to customize. but i wanted the 1.ghz processor.
thank you like in a big way man.
CWM is used to backup Your ROM and install custom ROMs. To flash kernel U will have to use fastboot mode, and it has nothing in common with CWM. Check this thread, 2nd post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1730874

Just in case http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075736

hi again. sorry last question. i installed flashtool. when innstalling the flashtool driver i cant find LWW in the list.
what did this noob do wrong??? lol
If U'r trying to install one of d latest FT just install fastboot and flash drivers (2 last options as far as I remeber) and that's it.
