No charge solution! ;) - HTC EVO 3D

So recently I had the issues when I turned off my EVO and wanted to charge it the red light showed up and then just turned off.
It didn't charged at all and the only way to bring it back to life was with ADB.
After reading a lot topics and answers i concluded that this maybe could be a recovery issues ( installed was clockworkmod ) and I was right.
So I flashed 4EXT Recovery, turned the phone off and yay it was charging
My phone is S-OFF but I think it should work for S-ON too.
Please post back and hit thanks if it worked.

Yeah, 4ext works very well for our phones. I'd stay away from cwm or twrp.

I had an issue that when the battery drained to 0%, it wouldn't charge at all.
Only way to get it to charge was with the tablet charger which pumps out much more power.
I know it's not good for the phone/battery, but I would only charge it to like 5% so I could turn it on, then change to a regular charger.

Battery Caliration??

What the best way to calibrate the battery on the EVO 3D? Most of the apps say you need to be rooted.
Any time I did it I was rooted with my og evo. I'm pretty sure you need root.

I have done 2 charges now and both times I let it go green. Then unplug, shut off the phone immediately and plug it back in. It takes forever for the light to turn green again. Once it did, I unplugged and plugged back in and it again took forever for it to turn green. I did this on my evo and the light would also turn green quickly. So not sure if I just need to do it more or if doing that on this phone doesn't help I'm not sure.

"Battery calibration" does not needo us root guys. The method was handed down to us a while ago on the OG EVO forum.

correct, you only need to wipe the batt stat bin from the previous rom, buuuut we dont have a "previous" rom, so this still applies
thanks CJ

Abysmal Battery life but different after reboot?

I have an HTC EVO 3D, the battery will literally melt down to "red" in about 3 hours, and charge extremely slow or not at all, until I reboot the phone, and then the phone will reboot with a charge of around 60% and normal recharge rates.
What the heck is going on? My phone is not rooted, so I can't reset the battery configuration....or can i?
Stock everything...
try this. Let the battery die completely. With the phone off let it charge till you get a green light.
Do that a couple of times, will more than likely fix it.
You can also charge and then wipe battery stats in recovery.
charge and wipe stats ftw
You guys are so smart..it's not like he just saidb he's completely stock

Yes it's as stock as it gets, lol
Yeah I missed the part where he said he was not rooted.
Factory Reset.
Are you using the stock charger? I had this issue when I first got my EVO but it was because I had been using a different charger

three evo3d batteries completely fry.. coincidence?

Guys ain't sure this is out there and I did search but couldn't find much on subject so looking for someone to confirm...
I now know of three different peoples 3vos batteries to completely fry around the 4 month mark, this includes my 3vo which is why at the moment I'm posting this from my hd2...
I've looked at all variables in the three different cases and nothing stands out... is it just HTC supplying crap batteries that can't keep up?!?
Appreciate some comments back guys and girls!!

That is built in the Kernel I believe. Basically, your phone charges to 99%, then internally stops charging until it hits below 95% and starts again. What I do is when I wake up, unplug, then plug back in. By the time I leave around 45 minutes later it is back to 99%. You can if you have a recovery, let it charge to 99%, then power off, boot into recovery and wipe battery stats, then resume charging. Do this 2-3 times and you can get to 100%.

Actually I thought I read not. I seem to remember that is HTC's kernel and the same problem doesn't happen to CM but I've never run it so I couldn't say myself.

Phone acting weird then doesn't boot or charge

So I have a evo lte that has been unlocked. Flashed the custom viper rom... After 2 weeks, the phone started acting weird today. I booted into recovery to wipe dalvik and cache. Then the phone started going crazy. Rebooted a few times and now it's a brick. Can't turn on or charge. Tried hard reset and combination of buttons to boot into bootloader. Nothing works. Any idea?

Ahh okay, then my idea of just smashing it and getting a new one probably wouldn't help much.
Hopefully someone can come up with something useful. I hope it gets worked out for you.

Seems weird its doing that on its own. Sure u didn't run the S-Off MOD? Have u plugged it into the PC to see if it recognizes it?

hmm...
read somewhere that putting the phone in the freezer would work.
i left the phone in the freezer for 5 mins and it turned on... But after 1-2 mins it should shut off again and not allow me to boot. any help?
how long have you left it on the charger? are you using the 1A HTC charger or a different one? when mine has shut off due to low battery and i've tried to charge it at someone else's house using an old micro-USB charger it would take HOURS before it would even show the light and allow it to be turned on. the light would occasionally blink but that was it. turns out the charger was a 180mA charger... you said you're overseas, maybe it's a power issue.
myself and a few other members have had this issue! i wasnt rooted but i had the issue of it not turning on or charging. i took it to the sprint store and they gave me a band new evo. =p

Has nothing to do with the charger. I always charge with the oem charger.

Try letting the phone die completely..once dead plug into charger and see if it starts lighting up. If it does, attempt to boot into recovery. Best of luck!

Can't even turn on the phone. If I put it in the freezer for a few min, it would boot. Recovery says 75%charged. But it would shut off by itself after a minute

[Q] Evo 3D won't turn on after full discharge - mwakious17.1

Hi,
My evo 3d went through a full discharge when I wasn't using it - i figured I could just charge it and turn it back on - apparently not! It was running 17.1 absolutely fine, but now it won't even turn on! When i charge it the led flashes a strong red a few times then shuts off..
Try leaving it on charger for few hours. I had the same problem when I flashed my first ROM on EVO and just leaving it on charger did the trick

I guess your battery died then. I'm using the same ROM and I have ono problems whatsoever. You could try someone's battery if you know someone who has an EVO to be sure it's a battery problem
