Hi, simple question and im sure u have heard it a lot
I recently did the whole xrecovery thing and have successful made
a nandroid backup, whoohoo.
Now im trying a simple thing like installing a custom boot animation.
So first i see a animation here on xda tht i like, make sure its for fimware/build number
2.1/2.1.A.0.435 , then download the .zip file. I picked this one:
http://www.4shared.com/file/BJrGIdCY/bootanimation.html
Then place it in the folder i made for boot animations.
Then go in recovery mode and go to "install custom zip",
Select the zip file and confirm installation.
The only thing is, when i then reboot, the stock animation is still there.
AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG?????
That's not a flashable zip. You have to use root explorer and replace the existing bootanimation.zip located at /system/media or /local/media can't remember exactly since it has been a while. Check this link:

Cool, thx tht works. I can now switch between stock ani and custom ani.
However the two diffrent custom ani i tried, both dont look like they should, all tht comes up on screen after white sony ericsson writing is a blue-ish, geen android word, with a light flashing over it.
The one i want to install is an angry penguin with a gun who shoots holes in the screen.
Suppose im getting closer, smh???

Don't worry about it. At least you know how to do it now and it's just a matter of getting the correct zip. Google XDA BOOT ANIMATION X10 and you should see quite a few xda threads. Happy hunting!!

This means that it didn't work. This is the stock android boot animation. Even if you delete bootanimation.zip it will show this anim. You most probably did not set correct permission. You need to copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/media and change the permissions to:
X X _
X _ _
X _ _
using root explorer or something equivalent.
His last post already confirmed that it worked.

unknown sources is working it wont work at first boot ...
after first boot enable unknown source and reboot recovery ....
now reboot system again it will be working now
this happens because of defualtsettings.xml in system/etc
the problem is not APN, but baseband (I think).
Did he use the baseband fix or old sources?
Greets!

Hi there! ROM looks awful, but I've found another problem. After flashing, and booting first time, gsm network doesn't worked. I've thought, that after quick setup, pin code request page will be shown, but not. Tried to restart phone, but still no gsm, cause no pin code request page again.

"ROM looks awful"? That's very nice of you to say (me being a fan of the sense ui)
This rom uses the new baseband. If you do not know what it is, you probably have the old baseband.
Maybe if I understand baseband differences between stock froyo and stock gb, and I've flashed cm7 nightlies over v20g, and nightlies worked, sense port should worked too.

sim card problem
That problem with the sim card its similar to one that cm7 nightlies and luporhip's cm9 had a while ago, i think they have fixed it, why don't you ask on cm7 nightlies or cm9 threads? probably they can help

bug
wifi and microphone please...
Some bugs that i found out
First of all i have to say that this rom looks amazing. the text is crisp and clear and is very smooth but there are lots of bugs in this rom.
Following is the list of the bugs :
1) As reported the camera and wifi does not work.
2) the phone takes a lot of time to boot. (i know the first boot takes a little time but even after that it takes more than needed time to bootup)
3) When your phone is locked and you press any hardware button to turn on the screen, the screen goes black and it's only when you touch the screen the lock screen shows up.
4) Also none of the hardware buttons have backlight when pressed.
5) The microphone does not work as well.
6) whatever settings are made it reverts back to what it was before. for example if you chance the brightness or set any ringtone or make other changes it reverts back to what it was before.
7) Also the date and time does not change even when you try to change it.
I have faith in the developer and i know soon a stable version of this rom will be out.
Thank you.
Nice work..when will you update it..I love HTC sense ui

Hi !
I've recently disturbed you with my issue of xRecovery uncapability to flash any ZIP
Now , I can say that this issue was totally solved , thank you so much
But , the smile has re-disappeared from my face , because when I flashed the first ZIP "Xperia S music player" the music player disappeared at all !!!!
Secondly , I tried to flash a new status bar , and the status bar disappeared too !!!!
Then I tried to flash an ICS theme , it boots , I could see the new lock screen , but I couldn't use my device , it reboots after every boot :-(
So , what can I do for that sh*t ?? :-S
Thanks in advance
Y U NO answer me pals?? :-D
Thanks for your powerful help !!!
Reason why no one answer you may be because it's a issue not many have had.
You should try to ask in the thread for the statusbar you flashed and the ICS theme.
I think you should flash new ROM if it reboots after every boot.

Hello everyone,
Cm7 themes are dying but fortunately
many cm9/10 themes work on it.
Some result in bootloop!
Anypne knows anything about editing the
apks so as to make th work?
Peeps, many devices wont have stable ics
cyanogen. We could help them.
So far Ive found:
Install cm9 theme on sd card and then
apply it so even if it reboots, it wont be a
boot loop.
If the statusbar fails to appear/ is blank,
launch screen filter or any app that has a
notification.
Changing the density helps in many
cases.
So anyone can add anything?

Hi,
I recently updated my XP to JB using PCC, everything works fine except my lockscreen, the problem is that the new lockscreen wallpaper does not change according to the theme.
I was previously using a modded JB style lockscreen on ICS and I'm sure that is the cause here.
- My phone is not currently rooted but I will root it in a while
- I do not have a stock ICS firmware available
Any solutions?
Thanks in Advance
P.S: Attached is the lockscreen SS, it stays like that always

Similar case with mine....
The lock screen works fine.... but there's no words" swipe up or down to unlock" after a while since boot...
The wallpaper does not change with theme, at least that was the case for Xperia z and other xperia jb phone. For the "slide to unlock" message, I think was programmed by Sony to disappear after 3 slides

That's not correct, it changes with theme. I 're-flashed the official Sony jb firmware after making a tft from pcc and the locksccreen is changing as per the theme.
My lockscreen started working correctly all by itself though before I flashed the firmware again, I used the pattern lock for a day and when I switched back to slide it was working great!
Sry, my bad

hye i got the same problem,
i cant reset back the lockscreen wallpaper even i change the theme colour.
i try to change to other lockscreen like pattern , its change but then i change back to swipe the old lockscreen wallpaper still there.

Do you have a firmware ftf?
What you can do is make a backup of your data using Backup and restore app and then re-flash the stock JB firmware. Though it is not the best solution, it is bound to make all your problems disappear

my phone already rooted and install some tweaks.
if i flash the firmware and use restore app will it give my root and all the tweaks back?
If u want to chamge ls wallpaper go to setting display
Lockscreen wallpaper and change it..
Or if u like original stock jb ls just delete uxplockscreen.apk
U had 2 ways
