I´ve had some bad and scary experiences trying to move my GS2 from Illusion-ICS v1.0.1 XXLPB-I9100 (kernel 3.0.15-XXLPB-CL99600) to ICS 4.0.4 via CWM.
Can anyone point me to an Odin flashable ICS 4.0.4 compatible with my current rom?
thanks in advance
number of roms in dev section ,see which fits u...
I´ve been browsing for ages but they all seem to be CWM.
You are going to have to read every single rom post to find an Odin flash if their is such a custom rom ..
100 CWM flashed today no problem .
4-04 rom do you mean non Samsung rom as 4-04 is not a Samsung release .
jje
Samsung did to start rolling out the 4.0.4 ICS.

I don't know where you get your information... latest Samsung stock firmwares are 4.0.3 still.
As of right now, the only 4.0.4 firmwares are AOSP or AOKP.
Cm9 got a special Odin ROM for people like you.
I am using stock rom and keep on having a weird problem, when I plug in my phone to charge the wifi option keeps on turning itself on even if u turned it off
same happens when I put it on mute or vibrate it goes back to sound again on its own
and the same happens even when it is not plugged in
any options?????????????
any ideas to help please?
If u are on XXLG8 stock rom which you probably are there is a known issue if u are using another kernel than the stock one... so just in case check if your ¨stock rom¨ ( debloated, rooted, super user app, and other goodies for stock zipaligned tweaked stock rom) that u probably flashed from the development thread is not using another kernel than the stock one if it is different flash the xxlg8 stock kernel and problems should be solved...

Interesting - 'cause you said "there is nothing there", which seems to contradict that you knew.
But anyways - JPKJ2 appears to be for the Middle East region. So if you care about having Middle Eastern languages, then stick to one from that region.
Otherwise, as long as your phone model is I9100, then it shouldn't matter what region the firmware comes from, as long as it is specifically for an I9100. Just make sure you don't use an I9100G firmware. Though, I have heard of people having issues with firmwares for the China region. I can't speak on that personally though, as I've never tried one.

ICS is not really a very good rom and I would recommend KK or JB
you should be good if you go from a GB firmware to a JB one
or if u want you could flash a custom kernel in odin and then flash a KK ROM like CM11 or Slimkat

It`s very safe to flash Jellybean or Kitkat. Download the latest jellybean from sammobile and flash it with odin.. Look around for tutorials how to. Note that you will lose all your data, but your phone will 100% work. That brickbug was only on 4.0.4 version.. To be sure and safe flash jellybean and after that flash PhilZ-cwm6 - Safe Stock Based Kernel. If you need more info, i`ll help you. Cheers!:good:

What do you mean by "original stock rom?". Are you talking about Gingerbread or do you simply want to flash an i9100 rom?
I mean 4.1.2 stock rom of 19100 by Samsung

So a few questions:
- Are you currently rooted, and if so what firmware (rom) are you running?
- Why do you want a stock rom? This device has two 4.1.2 custom Samsung roms that are equal to/better than any i9100 rom!
I see in another thread you said you were on Neatrom, which is 4.1.2, and that you were having problems accessing recovery after updating SuperSU; are you still having those issues or are you able to get into recovery now? It's important to know, as it will change how you install the rom you're wanting. .
