So there aren't very many kernel options for AOSP/CM ROMs on the VZW Note 2. Does anyone know if kernels for the International Note 2 (N7100) would work on the VZW i605?

It's for TW ROMs, not AOSP/CM. I asked in his thread if he would create an AOSP/CM version but haven't gotten a response yet.
Ah...sorry. Missed that part. Good luck in the search.
My guess would be no and don't try. You can always ask the developer try a pm see if they respond. What do you need a new kernel for? It usually is a bad idea to screw with the kernel as it can cause major problems if you do something wrong.

Yes but new kernels can often greatly increase battery life and otherwise improve performance while adding features...
I have never really experienced that except with over clocking. And neither of those is a problem in this phone.

Exactly. Even on CM9 alpha, I777(GB) modems do not allow audio in calls(everything else works). Like you mentioned, seems like RIL/modem interface is broken making GB modems useless at the moment.

Kernel source will not likely help us with RIL/modems - but it might allow us to reverse engineer the RIL interface and figure out what's wrong.
Either way - it's not looking good if GB modems don't work. Either way - without kernel source, too much is broken to even start.

We may be in luck - the i9100 users were/are using gingerbread modems on their ICS builds. I may try the latest KK6 with it today without modification.

I tried KK6, KH7, and KJ1 yesterday with no luck. Give it shot if you want. Those users are also on using the I9100 not the I777(I believe that the issue for us)

So I9100 users can use GB modems, but I777 users cant? According to the referenced post above we cant use I900 modems but they can use ours?
I saw a video of how this looks. Samsung Sucks. The TW makes ICS looks exactly the same as Gingerbread. Can't wait until a stock ICS rom works..

That's good news - if I9100 users can use GB modems, that means that only the audio output libs may be a problem for us once kernel source is released. This could be a pain to deal with, but hopefully the same Samsung Noise Reduction hacks that worked on Sammy-based ROMs could be ported to CM.

I checked out the phone.apk for the correct references in the xmls and noise suppression was gone already from what I could see. This was in the latest airbus build ala cm9.

CM builds don't have noise suppression control in the first place - so it would have to be added and then set, since the default doesn't work for us.

I was referring to a thread on XDA for the i9000 (NOT i9100) users. They were using gingerbread modems on their ICS builds.
But, in regards to data I had no issue with the latest build from airbus (cm9) using a modem built for the i9100. Sadly, in audio calls did not work. Has anyone experimented using Google Voice instead as a workaround?

I'm rooted running stock ics and am looking for an oc kernel. I will consider switching to a custom yet stockish rom in order to accommodate the kernel suggestion.
Please.... I know you've seen this thread before, but I've comed over the development section, searched my ass off, and yes, even Google this.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
why are you so desperate for an OC kernel?
what doesn't your phone do with a stock kernel?
Because I want my new note to run as well as my old note, but I don't want to run the same rom.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
no 2 phones are the same; setup your new phone exactly the way your old one was, and see if it works exactly like the first one..
adding an kernel that you can OC is NO GUARANTEE that your phone will run "better"..overclocking often causes issues, and based on a lot of your posts that I have read, you probably should not bother with overclocking at this point..
What post have you read that suggest that I don't need an oc kernel at this point? Why are you so against me over clocking my phone. This is my 3rd note and my first 2 ran a hell of a lot better over clocked. I'm convinced that it makes a difference, so do you have a suggestion for me in regards to a specific kernel?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
I'm on stock ICS and I use this kernel. I have never OC'd it though. I only use it for BLN functionality.

If you have read so many of my posts why are you assuming anything? It sounds like you haven't read any of my posts. If you had you would know that I've never bricked a phone and both previous phones were sent back for charging port issues. It sounds like you've had a bad morning and are taking it out on me, please don't post unless you have a suggestion.

Curious to see what changed so I'm downloading it now but man is it slow. Is everyone at xda downloading it now or something? Usually 100MB is quick on my connection.
Also keep in mind 1.26 may be older than 1.29 but the revision .10 is newer than .3 so this may have some benefit.
Update: International firmware just got source code released for .12. Let's see what happens tonight. This could be interesting. .12 I believe has the touchscreen fix in it!

Lots of different tweaks that developers work on, it all depends - saving battery life, better color reproduction, overclocking with possible better performance and...and....and...
