Cyanogen 10 Big Mistake(how to fix my tablet) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, i made a terrible mistake and installed cyanogen 10 for nexus 7 on my protab2xxl tablet.
Is there any way to save my tablet?
Cant use touchscreen so im using mouse/keyboard, but i tried 100 ways to fix it and cant do it.
Recovery mode always goes to Android 3e and not CWM, so im getting "signature verification failed" error

Also tried with nexus tool without any luck.
If anybody can help, it would be much appreciated. I will PayPal $10 if somebody helps me to fix this tablet.

I use Windows 7 64
I downloaded the lates firmware: 10 inch TAB-PROTAB2XXL(4.1)-Android 4.0-20120409.zip
Inside there are 3 folders: LiveSuite, 10 inch TAB-PROTAB2XXL(4.1)20120409, UsbDriver
In UsbDriver there are 7 files and non of them is .exe:
usbdrv.inf
usbdrv.sys
usbdrv_AMD64.sys
usbdrv_IA64.sys
usbdrvi64.cat
usbdrvx64.cat
usbdrvx86.cat
I also tried to install with "Device Manager", but when i click on UsbDriver it gives me empty folder.

I think im going to break the fking thing. Im on the edge of my nerves.
I manage to reset it to its original android 4.03 and touchscreen is working now, but
still getting the same "signature verification failed" error when in recovery mode 3e.
Also, tablet is not recognized by ROM Manager CWM, so booting to that recovery and
toggle between signature verification option is not an option.
I think there is no "download mode" on this tablet.
Anything else that you suggest? Im running out of options and the tablet already
received couple of punches. Not sure how long is going to last.

i guess download mode is the recovery mode? When android is on his back?

Anybody got any advice?

SuperOneClick says that my tablet is rooted, but SuperUser cant gain root access. Also i installed Titanium Backup and its same, cant gain access to the root.
What else can i try? Is this tablet lost?

Did u tried to install the USB drivers from the method given in PDF file

Use z4root to root ur tablet.

Thank You Yash for all your help. Finally managed to install Cyanogenmod.

So wow ur done ......

Confusion on rooting, recovery, everything

Ok, I am really confused. I have a Dell Streak 5 that has been carrier unlocked with the unlock code from Dell. I got that far.
However, I am going crazy trying to figure out how to root and get a custom recovery and ROM on this phone. There are 50 how to's and tutorials and they all have a different process and dead links.
I am not a noob when it comes to rooting. Have been doing it for a while. I am just confused because the Streak is different from HTC and Samsung.
Here is what I understand so far: Sorry for the repeated thread, but with dead links, it is making it really confusing for me.
1. I need to install the drivers. Where are the drivers? Every link I am finding is dead.
2. I need a custom recovery I have downloaded Team Win Recovery Project 2.3.
3. I need to install the recovery with Fastboot? How do I install fastboot?
4. From the Recovery, I need to install superuser.zip.
5. After Superuser is installed, I am rooted.
I will find the drivers and put it on my Box account, and give a link. . . . . I have a superuser.zip. . . . You just put it on the sd card, then with fastboot put streakmod on to install .zip. . . . Then you install romsbthat way too. Im on windows 7...i just went into windows explorer and made a folder on the C drive, called streak. . . . I put all my files in here. . . . Even made folders inside for stock rom,and custom roms. Qdl tool, fastboot
posted from my Pimped out Dell
you can download the superuser.zip from here with your phone,it will be on your sd card(root folder)
Superuser.zip
https://www.box.com/s/j4h9jylsss4p53ze5j6o
put all these two folder in a folder you name on your C drive....then you run the drivers, after that you should not have streak plugged in to pc,hold power and camera button down till white screen...then hit "fastboot"....wait a few seconds before you plug usb cable into pc,now plug your streak's usb cord into pc....if you installed the drivers right....it should say fastboot mode on your streak now.
now open the folder you made, and put all these files in,on your C:\ drive, now click on "Multi-Flasher"....then "multi-flasher.bat (windows batch file)...then go throught the steps in the CMD window to install whatever recovery or baseband you want, which now is custom/Streakmod
now after you fastboot the streakmod recovery, then it will say reboot,in that same CMD window,do it...but make sure you hold both volume buttons down on that "first" reboot(dont let it boot up normally,or youll have to start over) .now when you boot up,youll be in the stock recovery....but hit the second number, install from sd card, and hit camera button....it should go to the streakmod recovery(the Blue letters)
.....now you can navigate to install from .zip , and install the superuser file(usally in download folder)....now hit back, then hit reboot.....you should be rooted now.I updated my busybox app after this.
tell me if you got it to go into fastboot

[All-You-Need] # Rooting / Custom Recovery / Factory Restore #

Rooting MediaTek MTK6589 phones without Flash Tools:-
EDIT: Just use Framaroot. Simple. No PC required. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276. Just install the App and use one of the exploits.
*You can ignore this* OLD METHOD: (use this if you have a lot of time to waste )
Get "Motochopper, developed by djrbliss" for rooting Motorola devices. It works on most devices running Jelly bean 4.1 and above.
Original post (requires logging in) / Thread on XDA / # Alternate Download (Mirror)#
Here's what you need before you Root.
1. Any Phone with MediaTek MTK6589 Processor and Jelly Bean 4.1+
2. Drivers for ADB (connects the pc with the phone through USB Debugging) - there are many sources to get these drivers. If you're running the stock micromax firmware, it's found onboard when you connect the usb. For others running custom firmware, you could download from moulnisky.com. Even windows update might automatically install these drivers for you, but it's time consuming. After you've installed this, proceed to the next step to find out if you've established a proper connection between phone and pc.
3. Connect the phone to PC via USB cable and run the motochopper (run.bat file). press ok. then connect the phone to pc and enable USB debugging from the developer tools. Now the tool should push the exploit and root your phone. if no device is detected, go back to step two and install the correct drivers. if it's done, you're a superuser.
Note: In Android 4.2, Developer Tools will be hidden by default. You'll have to enable it first. For that, Go to Settings > About Phone > Build Number > Tap 7 Times.
Wanna Unroot and go back to Normal user?
SuperSu > Settings > Full Cleanup and Manually Reboot.
Installing Custom Recovery:-
This is a Must-if you have a rooted phone. Install a custom recovery before you start changing any system files. this will come in handy in case you mess up your phone and stuck in bootloop. It is commonly used for installing unofficial firmwares and also for backing up your perfectly working firmware.
To install a Custom Recovery, follow these steps. ( Root permissions needed )
1. Root the phone (refer above).
2. Download Mobileuncle MTK Tools from the Play Store.
. Download a Custom Recovery of your choice and place it on your external SD card without any folders. the recovery image file must have the word recovery in it for the app to detect it. i.e twrprecovery,recovery-twrp,etc.. so whatever sources you get the recovery image from, rename it accordingly.
Clockworkmod and TWRP are the most commonly used custom recoveries. It's up to you to decide which one you're installing. TWRP vs Clockworkmod: Which custom recovery is the best?
TWRP Custom Recovery
Clockworkmod Custom Recovery
3. Now run Mobileuncle Tool. Recovery Update > You'll find the recovery image there. Select and confirm to install. Done.
More info: Backups taken with clockworkmod don't work with twrp. so choose your family wisely.
Re-installing the Stock Recovery:-
If you want to revert to the Stock Recovery at some point due to some reason, HERE is the stock recovery taken from the stock firmware. You can flash it through Mobileuncle just like you flashed custom recovery.
Launching the Phone in Recovery mode:-
Switch off the Phone and wait till it's completely off. Pressing Volume Up + Power will enter the Recovery mode.
Factory Restore:-
Wanna Upgrade to a Newer version of Android ? or Have you just messed up your Phone ? Worry-Not. Here's the solution for all your problems. As the saying goes " A MediaTek Phone can never be Hard-bricked ". It can only be Soft-bricked and then it's easy to resurrect it back from the Dead with SmartPhone Flash Tool.
Here's what you need:
1. Micromax Micromax Canvas HD (I'm not sure if this firmware will work with any variants of this Device.)
2. The Latest Firmware for Micromax Canvas HD: S9201_4.2_MP_F3F8_B1_IN_MMX_14_FLASHER_USER (Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean, Released on 18-October-2013)
3. Download the latest version of Smart Phone Flash Tools: Download v3.1312.0.139
4. MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM Port Drivers - (Download) - This is the most important part. If you don't install these drivers, SP Flash Tools will not work.
Note: these aren't the same drivers that comes with the Phone or those Unsigned Drivers provided by many sources. These are signed drivers and works with all versions of Windows (includes 7,8 x64 versions)
How to install: Don't download the first file (it's just an installer). Get the two other files which are the Drivers. Keep them in a folder and extract them. You will have two .inf files. Right click on both of them and install. Simple.
5. After downloading all the required files and installing the drivers, power off your phone completely and remove the USB cable. Now remove the battery from the phone.
6. Extract the zip file containing the micromax firmware to some folder and then run SP Flash Tools. Now select the Scatter-Loading File which is inside the extracted folder named as "MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc". Press Download and connect the USB cable to the phone (without battery). It takes around two minutes to complete. Removing it mid-way will only mess-up the phone. After a Green circle is shown on screen, you can remove the cable and turn on the phone. That's all.
Note: If you're upgrading from Android 4.1 to 4.2, for the first time, You might enter an app called TP Upgrade that will run on the first boot. It's a Nice app. It upgrades your TouchPad drivers to the latest version and will ask for confirmation.but the thing is "DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING ON YOUR SCREEN WHILE IT'S THERE (NOT EVEN THE OK BUTTON)". It will start by it's own and completes in around 5 minutes approximately. If you accidentally touch the screen, your TouchPad will stop working. Now, Don't Panic. Welcome to the League. Now remove the battery from the phone and restart. You should see the same TP Upgrade coming up again. Have some snacks and don't do what you did last time. It'll be fine.

It's not necessary. You should install it only if you love to flash custom ROMs (Customized Android versions) to your phone. You can flash unofficial android versions to your phone with it. It also allows you to make a backup of your stock ROM which you can't with the stock recovery. You should always make a backup of your stock android to make sure you can always reset your phone back to normal whenever something bad happens (that is if you brick your phone trying to install a ROM).
If you only looking for swapping the memory cards, root is more than enough. Look at this Guide for instructions.

Root Micromax Canvas HD A116
(without installing Custom Recovery)
Most Guides talk about using SP Flashing Tools to flash the Custom recovery and then rooting the phone. But Here we root the phone first and then install Custom recovery. This method is much easier. You don't have to install any Custom recovery to root your Canvas HD. Which means, you don't have to go through those complex procedures trying to install usb drivers for your device or removing the battery and connecting the usb. I used Motochopper by djrbliss to root my Canvas HD. I didn't face any problem. so it works. Here is the link

Tips and Tricks:-
How to Swap internal and external Memory Card - link
Although your phone is powerful enough to run high definition games, the manufacturer has provided little space to install any such games. Your internal memory of 2Gb storage fills up as soon as you install something like Need for Speed Most wanted. So the first thing you must do after rooting the phone is swapping the memory cards. Insert a 16Gb external memory card and use this trick to transform the external memory card into internal memory. Now you can have six hd games at the same time on your phone

You have to flash the image files via fastboot, not through recovery.
no wonder i couldnt do it ..lol..havnt to used fast boot since the og evo days hope i can remember how..
Connect the phone to your pc and boot into bootloader, then go to fastboot.
you can test if your comp sees your phone by using
Code:
fastboot devices
Then, just open up cmd wherever your recovery image is stored (if on pc) by holding shift and right clicking. Then in the code below, replace recovery.img with the name of the recovery file you have.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

You can also download the version that's included in my Hboot guide (top link in my sig). It's not the entire SDK-just ADB & Fastboot. It's what I use. Just download and install. Once installed, highlight the file & hit Shift+right click on mouse, and you're ready to go.

Follow these steps.
1. First make sure that you have your device drivers installed on your PC.
2. Download your preferred superuser package. ( search the forum for superuser.zip files or just google it)
3. Download CWM recovery image file for your phone.
4. Once you have downloaded these two files, copy recovery.img to the folder where you have fastboot and adb. (If you have no idea what they are, please search the forum) and copy superuser.zip package to your phone's SD card.

Follow these steps.
1. First make sure that you have your device drivers installed on your PC.
2. Download your preferred superuser package. ( search the forum for superuser.zip files or just google it)
3. Download CWM recovery image file, for your titanium s1 from the link below.

I'm sorry for my carelessness, the download link I attached in the previous post was for S1. The method is similar to almost all android devices. The only thing you should worry about is CWM. You can follow the same steps but make sure that you have a CWM for your phone. If not, you may try porting it to your phone or just download ROM manager on your phone, it will provide you with all the options for flashing CWM. You can download ROM Manager from google play. Other than that, the steps are all the same.

I run superuser after rebooting the phone while using the volume + power buttons. But after installation when I check root it says no access.

Try doing this. Install SuperSU using CWM. If it installs, reboot the phone and check whether it has been installed by looking at the All apps section under settings. Then try to use any root application. If you encounter any problems in these sections, kindly specify where you get the problem.
Waiting for device
I am facing different problem.
Command prompt displays nothing after writing fastboot devices and on further process it says waiting for device.
i have karbonn drivers installed in my pc with windows 7 and usb debugging is on.

Hurray! Your phone is now rooted!
Just reboot to access the superuser app!
Press thanks button if i helped you!

Tried the steps set out by http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2422353 with
no success.
The device can be rooted by enabling developer and select USB debug on 1301 device. Installing and running ADB and Impact applications in windows; .
When the device reboots it defaults to factory settings with no root.:silly:
Can you give me the link of hp 7 plus 1301 asian tablet?
please bro if you have the file give me its link

Guys, KITKAT is out for HP 7 Plus. I had successfully rooted the tablet on JB with no bootlooping issues but lost root when updated to Kitkat. Plz update your tablets and let us all work together in developing Custom ROMs and Recoveries.

Kitkat is available but it's flawed. Received "update -1" and left in recover mode until I rolled back.:silly:

No, it is not flawed. When you flash the zip the first time in recovery, it flashes your bootloader and recovery. Reboots into recovery again showing received update-1. Then choose the zip again. You have to do this 3 or 4 times. Keep on choosing the revovery zip again until it says completed.
Has everyone given up?
