Hey guys.
Hoping y'all can help me out a bit. Don't ask me how I did it, but I've managed to format my internal SD into two partitions, see following images.
The first is the first partition and the second is the second one. I can erase the second partition, but can't seem to merge them.
Anyone know how I can fix this? Either merge or repartition the internal SD card?
Thanks for looking!
Cheers
Caiden

I've got the same. 1 almost 2gb and the other 11,5gb.
The 11,5gb is the internal sdcard the other 2gb is all other stuff like /system /data etc.
AFAIK this is normal.
Ummm....you didn't partition that, Samsung did.

Hello Everyone!
I partitioned my SD card back when I had my Nexus One. Now, I'm interested in reversing that process. I just recently rooted, unlocked, and flashed my phone. Unfortunately, CWM doesn't offer an option to partition my SD card. How does one do that these days? I just want my SD card to be unpartitioned.
Thanks
Chump
You should be able to format the sd card form the phone itself, like going to menu, settings, storage, dismount sd card then format sd card, I think this removes partitions, also destroying all data in the card.

Backup sdcard contents to computer. On computer delete all partitions, then you will have one big unallocated space. Create a new partition using all available space. Copy backed up data back onto sdcard. Put back in phone.

I use minitool partition wizard.
Remember to format as primary, fat32 and then apply,

+1 as the standard windows partition tool does not delete the 2nd partition. You will lose everything on the 2nd partition as even with mini tool you can't access it, only delete it and format it.
Oh, exactly.. make sure to back up any important data.

To be honest, yeah. It's cool that he revived it. I am sitting here with a soft bricked Samsung Infuse and can't find a lick of information that is even slightly useful to me. I'm welcome to all new information and answers that could potentially help me. Why waste your time complaining that someone revived a thread? Got nothing better to do with your life, I see... Stop being a jerkoff to people who didn't do a single thing to you. Seriously...

Why are you trying to make an argument about a bricked device, unpartitioning an sd card (removable storage), and a thread that I haven't even looked at or read or anything since May (its now Nov)? and fyi, a quick search of your problem gave me this http://www.androidnectar.com/fix-bricked-samsung-infuse-how-to/ you're welcome. Please refrain from posting antagonizing posts like that as it deters from any use and can be reported to moderators.

I agree, using minitool partition wizard to format to fat32 and convert to primary partition.
Mini tool partition the whole drive as fat32

It looks like I accidentally formatted my emmc memory and it cannot be seen by my computer. Does anyone know how to manually formatting it to make it functional again? I restored to a factory rom and back to aokp. I can see the memory and add files to it but music app cannot access internal drive. I get two drives in my computer but can only access SD card when I enable memory access. Any help on this will be awesome.

This isn't helpful I know but I thought id let you know this does not really belong in development thread. Just letting you know why no one is gonna help. People are crazy

Ill try to be of some help. I'd try reflashing your rom from an external SD card. No guarantees as I've not run into this problem, but it's worth a try.

No luck. I can't use my emmc memory. 8 gig SD is still ok
Here is what I did to fix it...
1) Made a nandroid backup of my RevoHD 6 setup
2) Wipe Data/Factory Reset
3) Wipe Dalvik and Cahche
4) Format EMMC
I then restored from another nandroid backup that I had loaded and I can now open my EMMC from windows computer!
Can someone let me know what they are using to check partitions on their removable sd cards. I have partitioned in the past using the 4ext recovery on my old G2 but now want to get rid of the ext,.....
also what format is best to use for the whole card? 4EXT / fatext or what?
Thanx all!!!!
Please help guys,.....
I thought this would have been can easy one for ppl to give suggestions on?
Also I don't have a separate card reader so need to be able to do it from the phone itself or by having it connected via usb.
Pleeeeeeaaaassssseeee help.

You will need to format the card on the phone itself..it will partition in FAT32 format..this is the format S3 used..you can try NTFS but only Siyah kernel will work with it AFAIK..
FAT32 is the format to use here,,
Thank Z.
So if I format through Cwm recovery it will also get rid of all partitions right?....... Data / swap / extdata?...... I don't actually remember how many partitions are on it.

Format it using the Format option present in Storage under settings..or connect it to a PC and format is as FAT32 ..all the partitions will be deleted and you will have a brand new FAT32 partitioned ExtSdcard.
Thanks again pal. Appreciated.

Hi all, I've accidentally partitioned the sd-card through recovery and I don't need any ext partition (from romracers recovery there wasn't any undo option). I've tried formatting it through windows or gparted. Windows recognise only the fat partition so that one is the only one it formats; gparted sees both but if I try to remove the ext and format everything as fat32, the phone reject the sdcard not mounting it and giving an error. Any solution please? I'd like to have the original storage space! Thank you all!
Delete all partitions with gparted, then partition/format in the phone.

Thanks! What do you mean with "format in the phone"? Through recovery or from settings?

Either one should work.
If one doesn't, try the other.

Format again in recovery. Then choose 0 as ext position size. It will be deleted.

I think my microsd is half-broken but I managed how to use it until it leaves me forever. I surely have bad sectors because a llf encountered errors. I used a HP format tool to do a quick format and of course the phone told me the sd was damaged so i formatted and got the entire space...hope not to lose future data...any suggestion for pictures instant upload?

I had to do it once...easiest solution i found was put the micro sd card in a nokia s40 phone (i used nokia x2) and chose format memory card
i would sugest you to go with gparted if you have access to linux system but i did not so had to do it this way
If so, how?
I'm looking to make either a second partiton sd-ext4 on my internal memory as opposed to the external SDcard.
So how do you do it?

Yes, but it is very dangerous to do and may lead to your device bricked forever.

I was actually able to create a partition successfully, but when I went into tarp to flash a rom, all of the directories labels were corrupted symbols. But the ROM actually did install correctly. Has anyone successfully done this?
