GPS lock ? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Can GPS lock issues be kernel related or strictly a ROM issue?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app

They could be either, but unless a significant number of people are reporting the same issue with either a ROM or a kernel it is likely something to do only with your specific phone.

You can change the setting on stweaks using siyah kernel.
Or download an app to do that.

Big phone issue.

Lately my phone has Been shutting down out of random and I don't know why. In both cm7 and Franco.devoid. The LEDs would flash prior to the shut down. What could this mean for my phone?

It's a kernel panic. your overclock settings must be high. lower them a little and test.
It wasn't even overclocked. Stock speeds....

users who have this problem, i suggest u all to flash void echo and cavermans v3 kernel..
oh, no idea then. Sorry.

I use the latest dream kernel, fixed wifi for me. I also like the speed tweak option for on the fly changes. If your feeling daring search vipermod to lower your voltage even more, I get better battery life that way.

Well I'm kind of new to this root flash. I don't know what version of the dream kernel to use. Everything works good wifi 4g 3g video camera except for swathing youtube videos on web browser I get the sound but no video.

Well if everything works well then you might not need a different kernel. To answer your post its called dream kernel in the development forum and it explains pretty well what the speed tweak and options are. Flash won't work unless you get the 10.1 apk which is also in the development forum. I would them to you but I'm on my phone. Good luck and post back if you have anymore questions

Is that the one that includes call recording?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Yeah it should or I know lean kernel has it.
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA App
Can the call recording be downloaded?
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA Premium App
The option or the calls? The calls are saved to your phone if that's what your asking.
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA App
Call recording like the bamf
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA Premium App
To actually hear what you said in a conversation. Sort if I'm not making any sense
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA Premium App
Call recording isn't an app you download, it has to be supported by the kernel. Dream kernel and lean kernel do, should state the feature in the post. The kernel included in bamf supports it which is why it is listed as a feature

RR 3.0.9 + Siyah is bad...

Hey there.
Im running RR 3.0.9 with siyah for a while now. And I got the feeling that it is worse than the stock samsung rom. It's soo slow some times. And freezes sometimes which forces me to do a battery pull.
And the most annoying thing is that when i turn on my Data. My wifi randomly turna on amd off when im on Data... soo annoying..
How to fix all these? Any other kernels working better with RR than Siyah?
Kind regards

You can try Dorimanx V. 5.90 and use default settings at least for a day before tweaking.
Even with your existing kernel use default settings and clear delvik cache fix permissions which help the stability.

Where can I find the DoriManX? I cant find it anywhere on google. Could you please give me a link? Kind regards
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Here you go http://dorimanx.shine.sk/
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Not the JB kernel from DoriManX? As rr 3.0.9 is based on 4.1.1
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
It is for JB (not MALI) and ICS . If it is for MALI based then you should use 7.xx . I am using rr 309 with Dorimanx 5.89 as of now.
Check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617219

Just had to do a Batt pull cuz of a freeze while using twitter...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
And my wifi keeps turning on and off after i switch 3g on..... how to fix that?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
no issues in rr 3.0.9 + siyah kernel
never had an issue with rr 3.0.9 + siyah kernel...it super smooth in transition plus battery friendly. i wonder why you're experiencing such things even in dorinmax??
And another freeze. Resulting in a battery pull.... Freeze while using twitter. Thats worse than stock rom. Still got the issue of the wifi turning on and off after 3g has been enabled.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
AND. Another freeze. THIS time while scrolling to my homescreen....
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
It's not kernels fault, it's you mate.
And another freeze. This time during sliding down the idk what its called lol. To see notifications. I fail lll

Wow really? What apps are installed. What settings for wifi are you useing. Be specific please. Did you restore anything after you followed the above instructions or did you cleanly install new apps with no restore?

I have accuweather, bbc, adjbrightness, betterbatterystats, cpuspy, es file explorer, flash, grooveshark, gmail, maps, history eraser, horse button, myatt, reddit, xda, youtube, torch, superuser, rom manager, dolphin browser, titanium backup. I changed roms to Nottachtrix with full wipe and no restoring of apps. For wifi settings, I have it go to sleep when screen turns off.

Sent from my MB860 using xda app-developers app

Sent from my MB860 using xda app-developers app
If you need your phone so badly why don't you just flash a GB based rom like Nottachtrix or cm7 ?
With all the JB build or ICS roms i have tried, my phone never goes to deep sleep too, i don't have an answer yet, but even when i plug it to the charger the cpu reminds at 750 Mhz.
The best for you it's to change until someone finds a solution
I'm currently on a gb based rom...
