i flashed omega 44.1 and then syiah kernel,but no bootlogo,just vibration.does the 4.2.1 from samsung support custom kernel??? from what i saw i guess not
From omega thread:
It's known that Siyah still not supports android v4.2.1 which is a base for Omega v44.1

Yes, Siyah kernel doesn't support 4.2.1 roms. So, just flash an older version of Omega, maybe the 4.1.2 one. :good:

In Omega v 42.1 there is not yet Omega Settings available. It's based on leaked v4.2.1 Android and it's still beta. You can have Omega Settings in Omega v43.1 - it is based on newest v4.1.2 Android.

Hi guys!
which roms are compatilble with mhl cable? For sure Paranoid Android is not compatible...
does exist any jb rom that is compatible?
Thanks a lot
I think any Samsung rom will work. Omega for example.

i know what is an AOSP, what i'm trying to understand is that: samsung in this days is officializing the jelly beans rom. today they have released an official rom...so from now on the custom rom jelly beans based, will be a SAMSUNG base ROM or it will be anyway an AOSP base ROM?
Simple as this mate, SAMSUNG base ROM no UI change just MODS to make it faster (why do you think is was called "SAMSUNG base ROMs"?). Do you think that "Paranoid Android" is a SAMSUNG base ROM just because it's a Jelly Bean?? Even at First look it doesn't look like a Samsung Base ROM.
If you're that lazy to search I'll do it for you. here's the list of the JELLY BEAN SAMSUNG BASE ROMs and JELLY BEAN AOSP BASE ROMs = > LINK

rude but helpful...thanks dude!
It is confusing at the begining.
ANDROID is GOOGLE,
SAMSUNG ROMs are Android(google) but modified by Samsung(everything should work since it's their phones)
AOSP ROMs are Original Android(google) but modified to work on our SGS3(or others) by any developpers
AOKP ROMs are Android(google) but modified by Cyanogen
Hope it helps
I use resurrection remix 5.6.9 it doesn't work
Hi,
I've had litening roms on my S2 for quite some time.
I want to upgrade to Jelly Bean but can't find one, I like.
I especially like the features the litening rom has for the pull down menu.
Is there a nice and fast rom that will have the switches, the litening rom has, or can I somehow change just the pulldown menu?
Thanks a lot, guys.
I haven't tried litening but as for Jelly bean ROMs I have tried Resurrection Remix, RevoltJB and currently on JellyBam.
All three are great you can probably look at them and see what is the closest to litening.

ParanoidAndroid is the best jb ROM in my opinion but it's all up to you.
Some help for choosing ROM base:
CM10 ROMS : AOSP almost but with some tweaks for better customisation
AOKP : AOSP but with a lot of changes for customization and tweaks
I think CM10 Roms are better since AOKPs tweaks are useless for me, and ParanoidAndroid let's me set how big the apps are and if they should display as if they're on a tablet or a phone, you can also make the phone a tablet but still use phone apps and so on.
It will be kind of hard to find one like lighting rom since it's stock based and Samsung hasn't released the jb for SGS2 yet.

Been using Jelly King for a month or more now and I love it!
Went back to Dual boot with ICS and even tried Jelly Bam again, but Jelly King just seems to work.
Smooth fast and now on DorimanxV7.4 - battery is amazing.
It's worth trying!
Donmt know about litening rom but for Jelly Bean, I can say in my experience RootBox is clearly amazing. Very very smooth. No fc, no reboots, no bugs. everything is working it is very stable. Go ahead try it for yourself.
I'm using SlimBean 2.8.0 (Android 4.1.2) with Dorimanx Kernel 7.0 (new Mali drivers):
* kernel Dorimanx: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617219
* slimbean 2.8.0: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846227
* slimroms.net
For my daily usage they works fine. Moreover, with Dorimanx kernel, the battery consumption is very acceptable

There are NO kernels that support 4.2.x Samsung ROMs. 4.2.2 from Samsung is only a leak. The Kernel sources from Samsung come out after the official release from Samsung, so you have some time to wait.

They all use a repacked stock kernel so from that perspective, not really.
Apps like greenify, autostarts and startup manager will be a good start though.

my problem is i have this rom (Omega v24 ●►Final JB 4.1.2) and finished flash and put my programs then i searched for good kernel better than kernel in this rom it's kernel (PhilZ cwm6) and i found this kernel Dorimanx, this is the thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617219
i choosed (Kernels 8.34 + 9.34) it's stable, i downloaded the kernel from here (http://dorimanx.shine.sk/) name kernel (Kernel_Siyah-Dorimanx-V9.34-[22-34]-[03-07]-JB-CM-AOKP-SGII-PWR-CORE.zip) then i put it in SD Card and reboot to cwm, then i pressed on wipe cache pation and then wipe dalvic cache then reboot recovery then flash the kernel and after restart open logo samsung then open logo dorminax then reboot again, again etc... and then i flashed the rom again and i don't know what can i do ??
Next time, read the instructions a little better to avoid issues. v9 is for 4.2.x and up. You need v8 for 4.1.2.

I think you have chosen the wrong Dorimanx kernel, 8.X branch is for stock based ROMs and 9.X is meant for CM/AOKP/AOSP aka non-stock based ROMs. Since Omega is based on stock XWLSW firmware, you should try the 8.34 kernel.

really i don't understand !!
one say 8.x is for stock roms & 9.x for roms aokp and CM and other one Says the reverse !!
i will explain : in this link (http://dorimanx.shine.sk/) there are 2 schedule, first shedule name : JB CM/AOKP MALI V2 ONLY! !NO ICS/JB STOCK SUPPORT! Kernels List!
second schedule name : JB MALI V2 + JB SAMMY Kernels List!
and i'm have omega v24 4.1.2 built from aokp rom not a stock rom then i choosed the good kernel (stable) 8.34+9.34 and i choosed the first schedule because in second schedule kernel name : Kernel_Siyah-Dorimanx-V8.34-[22-31]-[03-07]-JB-SGII-PWR-CORE.zip and i download it and flashed and happened bootloop i think
i don't know where is the problem ???

Hm, my bad. I've missed the part that you've flashed 4.1.2, but AOKP. I'm not sure if Dorimanx's kernel (v9.34) supports that Jelly Bean version. What about updating your rom?

now i don't know what can i do ???
Am totally confused mates..
Omega v24 is stock based right? Omega v13 the latest AOKP rom rite?

Dude I will sum it up
Stock/Samsung based ROMs (Stock/Samsung ROM,Omega v24,Revolution,NeatROM,Biftor ROM) =====> DorimanX 8.xx
CM/AOKP/AOSP based ROMs (RootBox,CM,AOKP,Paranoid,Super Nexus,JellyBAM,PacMan) ======> DorimanX 9.xx
In your case,you need 8.xx....download 8.38 for example.It is stable too.

The siyah kernel does not come with an updated mali driver and thus you cannot use a CM10.2 (android 4.3)based roms on it.Thus you can dualboot or even if u install the kernel on an CM10.2 based roms then you will get stuck on a bootloop thus u cant use siyah kernel but you can use Googy-Max kernel as that is the only kernel for s3 that is compatible with rom running android 4.3 and u can dualboot. In simple words Googy-Max kernel is an advanced version of siyah kernel an it is compatible with stweaks !
I made a video on it...do check it The channel name is Abraar Shaikh
Hope this helped
