There are NO kernels that support 4.2.x Samsung ROMs. 4.2.2 from Samsung is only a leak. The Kernel sources from Samsung come out after the official release from Samsung, so you have some time to wait.

They all use a repacked stock kernel so from that perspective, not really.
Apps like greenify, autostarts and startup manager will be a good start though.

[Q] Problem of Random Reboot

Hi friends Iam currently on Simplistic Rom v4 with S3 theme and siyah kernal 4.1 ..
I have been facing an issue of random reboots and rapid battery drain..
I tried to changing the kernal governors to lulzactive and scaled down the cpu speed to reduce the rapid battery drain but everything in vain..
Is there anyway to solve this issue? Can i flash it with some other kernals like speed mod to solve this issue?
Earlier I was using my stock rooted ICS and CM 9.0 in dual boot mode and i never experienced such random boots and battery drain..
I love this rom so much coz of its kies support,S3 UI/apps and Iam in no mood to change the ROM..
Someone help me out guys...

Thanks now trying
But what would be the real problem?
Is the siyah kernal responsible for battery drain as mentioned in the Zedomax's youtube channel or would be the bugs in System frmawork of simplistic rom?

Anything could be causing your battery drain.
Easiest fix for now if to flash a another kernel.
If the problem then persists,, There will be need to find out what's causing the battery fascism.

Since you already tried Siyah, then
1. Dorimanx kernel: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617219
Or
2. Dream kernel: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788021
Both meet their dual boot needs. Both support Extweaks too

Really Thanx for helping me out bro..

Gonna try the kernels which you have mentioned

first if the rom is not optimized to wrk on any kernel then u will face all these issues, and also playing around with CPU and GPU settings will not give u any good battery life, unless ur sure of those settings.
hence the stock settings are always best with any Custom Kernel for sure

[Q] Desperately looking for a Jelly Bean ROM like Litening Rom

Hi,
I've had litening roms on my S2 for quite some time.
I want to upgrade to Jelly Bean but can't find one, I like.
I especially like the features the litening rom has for the pull down menu.
Is there a nice and fast rom that will have the switches, the litening rom has, or can I somehow change just the pulldown menu?
Thanks a lot, guys.
I haven't tried litening but as for Jelly bean ROMs I have tried Resurrection Remix, RevoltJB and currently on JellyBam.
All three are great you can probably look at them and see what is the closest to litening.

ParanoidAndroid is the best jb ROM in my opinion but it's all up to you.
Some help for choosing ROM base:
CM10 ROMS : AOSP almost but with some tweaks for better customisation
AOKP : AOSP but with a lot of changes for customization and tweaks
I think CM10 Roms are better since AOKPs tweaks are useless for me, and ParanoidAndroid let's me set how big the apps are and if they should display as if they're on a tablet or a phone, you can also make the phone a tablet but still use phone apps and so on.
It will be kind of hard to find one like lighting rom since it's stock based and Samsung hasn't released the jb for SGS2 yet.

I would have to say that Rootbox is the best rom right now. Really really smooth, no fcs and loads of features. Even has pa settings now.

Been using Jelly King for a month or more now and I love it!
Went back to Dual boot with ICS and even tried Jelly Bam again, but Jelly King just seems to work.
Smooth fast and now on DorimanxV7.4 - battery is amazing.
It's worth trying!
Donmt know about litening rom but for Jelly Bean, I can say in my experience RootBox is clearly amazing. Very very smooth. No fc, no reboots, no bugs. everything is working it is very stable. Go ahead try it for yourself.
I'm using SlimBean 2.8.0 (Android 4.1.2) with Dorimanx Kernel 7.0 (new Mali drivers):
* kernel Dorimanx: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617219
* slimbean 2.8.0: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846227
* slimroms.net
For my daily usage they works fine. Moreover, with Dorimanx kernel, the battery consumption is very acceptable

Omega 44.1

i flashed omega 44.1 and then syiah kernel, but no bootlogo, just vibration.does the 4.2.1 from samsung support custom kernel??? from what i saw i guess not
From omega thread:
It's known that Siyah still not supports android v4.2.1 which is a base for Omega v44.1

Yes, Siyah kernel doesn't support 4.2.1 roms. So, just flash an older version of Omega, maybe the 4.1.2 one. :good:

In Omega v 42.1 there is not yet Omega Settings available. It's based on leaked v4.2.1 Android and it's still beta. You can have Omega Settings in Omega v43.1 - it is based on newest v4.1.2 Android.

The siyah kernel does not come with an updated mali driver and thus you cannot use a CM10.2 (android 4.3)based roms on it.Thus you can dualboot or even if u install the kernel on an CM10.2 based roms then you will get stuck on a bootloop thus u cant use siyah kernel but you can use Googy-Max kernel as that is the only kernel for s3 that is compatible with rom running android 4.3 and u can dualboot. In simple words Googy-Max kernel is an advanced version of siyah kernel an it is compatible with stweaks !
I made a video on it...do check it The channel name is Abraar Shaikh
Hope this helped

android kernel

hello guys
i have a question and i hope that i will find an answer
my phone is SGS II I9100 and i want to install another model ROM like S5 or nexus rom , Xperia ROM ...
if i replace the kernel of the ROM by S II , Siyah or any i9100 supported kernel, will my phone boot without risks or problems??
please helpe me to know that and thnx
It wont boot.
Wysłane z mojego Xperia Z przy użyciu Tapatalka
So what should i doing to install another ROM??
All custom roms here on XDA are specific to the device and forum where you find them.......
S2 roms can only be found in the S2 forums.....
S5 roms can only be found in the S5 forums....
Sony roms......Sony forums.....
Nexus roms.......Nexus forums
etc, etc, etc........
Look here in the S2 forums and you'll find a wide variety of roms to choose from for THIS device.......
Some are basic CyanogenMod roms, some are stock based, some are themed to look like other devices......
You have ICS, JB, KK and LP based roms to choose from......basically you would be hard pressed to exhaust all the flashing possibilities presented on this forum......
One word of caution......If you're after usability and stability, steer clear of the LP based roms......While it's good that current roms are still being compiled for the S2, it is fair to say that the LP based roms are still relatively new, and are not as stable as the older (ICS, JB & KK) roms.
I'm not going to recommend one rom over another.....For one thing, it's against XDA rules, but more importantly, using custom roms is about trial and error.....about trying things out until YOU find a rom that suits YOU......
Basically it comes down to you putting in the screen time, doing your research and experimenting.......
XDA is a friendly bunch of people, and we'll be here to help if things go wrong, but if you learn the processes before you start modifying, things shouldn't go wrong.......
So....put in the screen time, choose what's best for you, and flash away......
Good luck and happy flashing.....
Keith.

easy, use dorimanX 8.44 v005 by computoncio here: http://dorimanx.casoncia.org/index....005-COMP-[16-17]-[29-09]-JB-SGII-PWR-CORE.zip
If you want a different version, here is the link to the folder: http://dorimanx.casoncia.org/index.php?dir=V8/
(You want any V8 version of the kernel because only the V8 kernels support stock Jelly Bean.
All you had to do was use the search function on XDA or a simple google search and the answers will be there
