This and look at the permissions
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G running Evervolv 4.2.2
So here's what i did, because i dont like apps being remotely installed without my permission.
Go to root of your phone>system>app and rename Google play services which is now called gmscore.apk to gmscore.apk.bak or simply delete it. Hot reboot your phone and you can now uninstall the Google settings app the way you would any app.
Doing this breaks all Google apps... Sneaky google

Oh those... Those aren't a big deal, but I see what you saying about the permissions.

I wonder if you can freeze it. Well also, your XDA app might have disappeared because for some reason it downloads on the memory card.
But I get it. Nanny apps are creepy. Its already weird Facebook wants to know where I am all the time.
I was wondering what the hell that was...
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda app-developers app
Added note once you use my method to get rid of it whenever it comes back it can be easily deleted again via the app drawer
Warning getting rid of this breaks all Google apps...

Anyone know if the patched gapps will fix this?
I remember a patched play store that would skip updating itself

Give it time it will be lol. Also I've noticed on stock and custom ROMs all processes associated with this run in the background draining battery pretty quick. My friends phone with stock GB went from lasting 2 days to less than one

I have been using the new Android market for a week now and it suddenly does not respond when I open it. I just see the screen greyed out and the spinny saying it's loading. The thing is that it never loads. Has anyone else had this issue? Any advice?

Same thing happened to me. It would take forever to load the first page, even over wifi. Uninstalled the updates, and it works great now. The new market is pretty, but I think the old one is more functional
Never had this problem.. hah.
I don't like the new market. I tried it for a week, but just got a new Evo 3D and won't install it on my new one unless we are forced to take it.

New market seems smoother to me, but to each his own

I didn't know what Dead Space was so I looked it up on Google Play. They say that it isn't compatible with the Amaze. Maybe it just isn't reliable so they don't certify for the Amaze which could explain why it works with some and not others.

I hear ya, I'm just reporting what the app store said about the Amaze. I've never tried running it myself but obviously lots of you have... and very successfully.
From what I can tell, there are 2 versions. One that is available for $6.99 on the market that IS compatible with the Amaze 4G and one that is available for $7.21 on the market that IS NOT compatible with the Amaze 4G.
@OP - Which version do you have?
Everytine i switch from the stock browser or chrome to a messenging app or another app for like just a minute then when i go back to the internet it reloads the page i was on automatically. Is there any way to stop this??

no. not until we get kernel source from htc. its due to htc putting in stupid memory (ram) management settings so basically as soon as you leave an app it closes it. i hate this also but theres nothing we can due till htc releases some code for us (which btw should have come out long ago but for some reason they feel like pissing us off haha)

I knew someone would come in here blaming Sense's RAM management. The problem is, Chrome still reloaded all its tabs on my rooted OG EVO when I had it running ICS, and still does the same thing on my Xoom. It seems to be the way Google programmed the app, perhaps to save up on both CPU and GPU RAM. It is annoying, but you'll probably have to bring it up on Google Play or on their discussion boards.

Ok so maybe its coded into chrome. doesn't explain why it happens in the stock browser also or for any of the other apps that get closed as soon as you leave them. I can almost guarantee that tapatalk will reload as soon as I launch something else. It IS a problem with sense so it does deserve blame.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
Oh I'm not saying there is no Sense memory issue. It's a pretty big problem for me with playing heavier games and then having to wait for Sense to reload when I go back to the homescreen. Also coming from using my Xoom it's a bit annoying having simpler apps restart on me just because I switched apps for more than half a minute. I'm just pointing out that Chrome seems to like doing that by itself too.

If not, I think that will ruin my experience.

I tried multiple roms and so far it seems there is no fix.
For example I was on the web browser. Backed out with the home key to go to home screen. I then went to settings to change my display settings went back to browser and the whole page had to reload and refresh.
My GS2 and Galaxy Nexus was better then this phone in the performance department.
Not to mention after you start installing apps and setting up your home screens the phone just gets slower and slower and less snappy.

Yep. It's bad.
Bad enough that my lte is sitting in a drawer as I use an alpha cm9 build on my evo 3d. Multitasking, background downloads stopping, and overall sluggishness compared to stock drove me away.

Nope. Just this phone. I returned this phone due to crappy gps, lag and horrible multi tasking. Having to keep my screen on to download something was unacceptable. Besides the camera and display HTC failed on this phone.
I tend to listen to podcasts and use navigation a lot(I'm a driver) and im noticing more frequently since the update that sense will reload when backing out of Navigation. I also get it when backing out of memory intensive games too. The same games I use to play and the same navigation I've always used in ICS and not have this issue. Back in the day with Sense reloads you would see a "Loading" message and sense would come back. Now it's just a home screen with 0 widgets that eventually reappear.
What gives? I thought I'd be done with sense reloads by the 3rd product cycle. I know the whole manage your apps and use less home screens tips. The thing is I'm set up the same way I've always been set up, shouldn't have to change anything.

I used to get that on my old EPIC. Nothing on the screen and seconds later icons would populate. When I had sense reloads on ICS I always got the loading message. I think you should definitely try a different rom, as it seems no one else is getting it on JB. Goodluck dude, hope it gets better for you.

HTC can't win. People ***** that sense reloads so they implement the most aggressive anti multitasking "bug" to fix it.
Now that they unbroke multitasking sense may reload more.
It works fine for me personally, but I un install, freeze, or refuse to run memory intensive things like face unlock, live wallpapers, and some stock HTC and Sprint junk
HTC can win.. Simply don't F### up and do dumb crap. If they want to continue with sense(which I enjoy) then make sure the device has proper resources.
