Someone help me making an easy task? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I need you help guys
Usually I use quickpic with max auto brightness when watching photos.. But lately quickpic lag a lot in my phone and I don't want anymore to use it
So I switched to default aosp gallery (I'm using an aosp ROM)
Is possible to make a task that automatically set max brightness when I open the gallery? Using auto brightness as standard drive ..
Thanks a million
Erto

Yeah, you can use Tasker (in the Play store) to make brightness max when you open the app and put it back to auto when you exit the app.

But this way you'll never learn how to use Tasker! Trust me, it's difficult when you first start off but then once you get the basics you'll be able to make tasks and profiles very easily.
You can have a look at some examples of here: http://tasker.wikidot.com/step-throughs
I might sound as if I'm not being helpful but I honestly think you're better off learning yourself, much more useful in the long run

You are perfectly right mate
So I need to
1) run gallery
2)disable auto brightness
3)set brightness to 255
4) end task at application exiting
I will try

Try that, if you find that auto brightness doesn't come back on you might need to make an exit task to set brightness to auto again when you quite the gallery app. Also I think you might need to set brightness to 254 (I read somewhere 255 is auto brightness).
You'll be a Tasker pro in no time

Ah I see what you're trying to do.
So first off you'll need to make a Task to switch off auto brightness and set brightness to max, then make another Task that sets brightness to auto. After you've made those two you can make a Profile which has the trigger, the gallery app launch and you can select the first Task you made as the one to be executed and the second Task you made as the exit task to be executed when you leave the gallery app.

Awesome!
I think you can adjust the settings to stop telling you that you have low memory. You can also remove the notification in the settings too. Tasker will always run in the background but it's very lightweight from what I've seen.

Music stops minutes after screen turns off

I don't understand why 2 minutes aprox the screen turns off.... the music stops.
I already verified In task manager the music application is not in auto-end list.
Any help?

i have the same problem.
So I had this problem for a while. I read on a different forum that there's a bug that links the gallery app to the music app.
Therefore, you need to make sure the gallery app is not under auto kill. Make sure you enable viewing of native apps.

Joelszs,

This is awesome I was just about to post about this problem when I saw this. I thought it was something I had frozen in the system apps, glad I don't have to test each application individually that would've been a pain.
Glad I could save you the pain I had. That's why its so important we keep the atrix forums alive!

Any chance you could let me know which other system apps you have on the auto end list? I'm thinking it's still a problem with the auto end because it stops after the screen goes off, so it probably isn't a frozen app, or at least so I think
Try removing all apps from autoend list, and test again.
If works... only add to the list apps not related to music, video and pictures.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
it is still working for me as well. I haven't had a single instance of the problem in over two weeks.
Make sure that gallery is still off?

How do you make sure the gallery app is not under auto kill? Is there a special app for this or could this be found in the settings? Sorry for the newbie question. Thanks in advance.
If you open task manager and then press menu, there is an option listed to show all native apps, in addition to the ones you've downloaded. After you enable that, click on the auto end apps. section of tasks manager. gallery should be listed alongside the. camera, etc.

the important is that , MUSIC and Gallery are all not in autoend list.

[Q] screen brightness Q

Hello!
Very first post in this board...
There's similar threads under different phones but nothing I can find under the mopho forum, if there is please redirect me!
so here it goes: is there any way to decrease the brightness of the screen beyond moving the slider in the settings down to 0?
Thanks!
There's a free app in market called screen filter made by haxor. Try it!
There is also that power widget that allows you to set it to auto, lower and higher. Not sure if that is low enough though.

I think all this app does is "grey out" your screen. I'm pretty sure that the backlight stays at whatever setting it was at before starting the filter. You may get a bit of savings by disabling the soft key backlight, if you have them.
Not trying to be a smarta$$, but I do love this app.

App does the trick ... except it adds another icon to the display at the top. Isn't there a file that can be edited in the system to reduce the minimum brightness level?

[Q] How to re-launch an app after it is killed?

Ok well basically I'm having a problem on my Galaxy S II in which when I exit all apps using the task manager, it kills my lockscreen app, WidgetLocker.
Is there a way that I can have WidgetLocker relaunch after it is killed? Or should I just not bother killing all the apps?
Thanks,
Alex

There is a option for third party apps putting it into suspend mode but no option for Yur task manager not to kill it... The only way to do that is to download something like advanced task killer and just put it on the ignore list....

No? Why on earth would I do that? WidgetLocker is a great lockscreen application and either way, ANY third party locker software will be killed by the default 'exit all' widget.

[Q] How to get Tasker to start daydream when screen is off but not docked/charging?

Hello, all! I have searched tasker guides, and looked everywhere I can think of and can't figure it out. Looking to start Daydream when screen state is off but not docked or charging. Doesn't work for me no matter what I try. "Daydream Launcher" app can not be used as it does not work on it's own to start Daydream much less with tasker profile - appears 4.3 isn't being supported at this time from comments. I am trying with profile:State>Display>Display state>Off to trigger task: Plugin>Secure Settings>Configuration>Helper Action>Day Dream State>On OR task: Plugin>Secure Settings>Configuration>Helper Action>Day Dream>Clock plus (or whatever else) I get nothing either way. Daydream works fine on dock or charge. Anyone have any advice? Thank you in advance for any help you can give!
I'm sure one of our dev's will tackle that eventually..def would be a sweet little tweek.

I had something like that working at one point.
If no one else gets to it I'll add it to my list to take a look at as soon as I get a couple of other projects out and posted.
If you really want it done. get a hold of @nala_ and tell her @mjcollum said to add it to the to do list.

Thanks - it's driving me crazy just because it's beating me!
Do you need a Tasker task it will probably be easier to just add it in as a function of the apk. (With a n off command)

Definitely does not have to be Tasker - that was just the only way I personally was approaching it. apk would be just as awesome or better.

Just found this thread because I wanted to do the same
Found a solution:
Tasker + Secure Settings (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.intangibleobject.securesettings.plugin&hl=de)
--> Install Secure Settings, Enbale System+, Set DayDream to "always", Set a Task in Tasker if Power + Wireless + AC --> SecureSettings Toggle DayDream
So it will be off if you charge and if you don't charge the DayDream gets activated.
