[Q] half root

I rooted my s2 and installed resurrection remix 1.8. I can run apps that request root but when I try to copy a file to the root of the phone I get this message
Copy error
lib core.io.errnoexception
Open failed:EROFS (read only file system)
Does anyone know how I can gain full root?
You need to mount the filesystem r/w with whatever file manager app (Root Explorer, etc, or an app like Remount).
What are you using to copy the app over?
Are you using root explorer?

Depends on what file manager you're using. As an example tho, in Root Explorer, if I say wanted to copy the Polaris Office lib files over to system/lib in order for it to work properly I'd do the following:-
*Fire up Root Explorer & click the little R/W-R/O toggle at the top to mount R/W.
*Navigate to where I have a copy of the Polaris lib files (in my case I have a Roms Modems Etc folder on my external SD card).
*Go into Root Explorer menu & tap 'multi select' because there's two files to copy, then click each file so there's a tick beside each indicating they're the files that are to be copied.
*Then click 'copy'.
*Then navigate to system/lib where I want to paste the files. And click the R/W-R/O toggle again to mount R/W.
*Click paste & the files are copied over. Click R/W-R/O toggle again to mount filesystem back to R/O.
*Navigate back to root folder & click R/W-R/O toggle to mount root back to R/O.
Done.
Is this what you were after ?
Edit to add - You can also get Remount from Google Play which enables you to mount different parts of the filesystem R/W or R/O.
Yeah that's great, many thanks. Just tried it & it works perfectly using root exp pro

If i edit the build.prop of my rom after i've flashed it, will it change the system?

I want to edit the build.prop of my phone to add some lines, but i do not want to flash the rom all over again. If i just edit it through a file manager on my phone, will it take effect on the rom? or do i have to edit the build.prop in the .zip fil;e of the rom and flash it all over again?
Edit the Build.prop and then just restart your phone .

You can edit stuff on the /system partition and they'll survive the device reboot, so go ahead edit /system/build.prop
This does not apply to stuff on the root partition, so you can not edit e.g. /init.rc in the same way and get any lasting change. The root partition is unpacked from flash every boot, restoring any edits you've done. I.e. the running root is only a copy in ram of the root file system from the flash image boot.img containing this plus the kernel. To change files here, you'll have to reflash your device.
It changed after i flashed my ROM
Recently i made a ROM and flashed it , i made many changes to build.prop but when i open it through es file explorer it is not showing those changes ! please help thanks
edit - save - and restart ur phone
Check that you don't have 2 build.prop files after installation

/sdcard/0 folder disappeared from the file manager

Hello everybody,
I've recently moved from omega ROM to revolt ROM, and I had my files stored on the /sdcard/0 folder, and now, I can't see it in my file manager, but I can still see it in the recovery when I want to install a zip file or something. How can I restore it/make it appear in my file manager?
Use root file manager to search the file, then once found, click properties, and it will give you the file path where it is hiding

First of all, do u have any backup of efs? If yes then try to restore it and if not then try the following methods.
Flash latest stock firmware.
Root ur device.
Install x-plore or any root file browser.
Go to root directory and open /efs folder.
Open /efs/FactoryApp/keystr and edit and write 'ON'
Open /efs/FactoryApp/factorymode and edit it and write 'ON'
Change permission of both file to 744 mode and restart ur device. It may help u to get ur phone working. Try it now.

Could you elaborate. Take a screenshot folder "EFS" in the resolution and in the folder contents show what should set the resolution?
