Hello everybody,
I've recently moved from omega ROM to revolt ROM, and I had my files stored on the /sdcard/0 folder, and now, I can't see it in my file manager, but I can still see it in the recovery when I want to install a zip file or something. How can I restore it/make it appear in my file manager?
Use root file manager to search the file, then once found, click properties, and it will give you the file path where it is hiding

Hi all.
I'm trying to copy some files to the system partition after enabling write on read-only partitions and remounting it and everything is success, but when I restart the phone, files get deleted and partition back to original. I tried ES file explore and Total Commander.

Hmm.. seems like a hard question!

Hey,
no not a hard question but a bit confusing
So the copy to system works without probs?
Do u have root-enabled on it?
U can try Solid explorer once, too, to be sure.
CHEERS
I enabled root explorer and I mounted the file system to be writable, yes I have a rooted phone.
I can copy to system root folders anything (media files), the files stay there until I reboot the phone then they disappear, they get deleted maybe? how to disable that?
Thanks

That listen like u have to save changes?!
Pls try the Solid explorer (for me the best explorer ever)
Copy files and have a look for root-acces request (should be asked for Solid, if it's new)
The copy/replace the file.

Thanks Hannibal for reply, I got no luck on doing it, they still get removed after reboot. Is there a way to flash these files that I want to copy to system as an update.zip?

Sure there's a way, but I can't help u with it, sorry.
With new Titanium Backup u can create flashable .zips but for sure only from isntalled apps.
Maybe u have a look at google. I remind for a tool which u just say what u wanna flash an it creates the flashable .zip.
Much success....
CHEERS
Edit: Sorry but couldn't answer u yesterday.

I finally flashed a non stock based rom. Before i flashed I made a backup but the 2 backups I had do not show up in recovery. When I use the file explorer they are in clockwork/backup. I backuped the me room and that one shows in recovery but not in file explorer
Seem to remember but cannot find info about a 0 file that is created when going to non stock roms which I see in file explorer but I still cannot find the new backup that way.

Look in sdcard0 data/media for the one you can't find with file explorer, if it is there you can copy the others to that folder so they will be seen in recovery.
TO DO THIS YOU MUST BE ROOTED
If you guys haven't noticed you can't copy a file from internal sd to external sd (confirmed by me and others) Well I figured it out.
I remember something about OTG not being able to read from external on apps like Tibu with other devices. I did something similar to get it to work on the ZU GPE.
If you are rooted you can copy this file to /etc/permissions/
I tested copying a file from internal to external and it worked fine after this change.
I did make a couple changes to the file, I'm not sure which did it but one of them did. I am attaching the file
Just rename from platform.xml.zip to platform.xml, back up existing file(the attached file is NOT a zip.. it's a XML file just remove .zip from the end of the filename), copy new file and change permissions to match the old file
The zip file is corrupted.

Same with me before.. I got messed copying this.. Had to reflash ROM. The permission is rw-r--r--
Clear steps:
Download file
Copy to etc/permissions folder
Find the old platform.xml and renamed it with platform.xml.bak (as a backup)
Rename the platform.xml.zip to platform.xml
Set the permission as same as old file (rw-r--r--)
Reboot.. And done

Dis fix did not work for me to. What else can we do? GPe is excellent but without SD card is useless to me. Any other solutions?
OK well I'm not rooted and I'm not trying to root for preserving my boot loader is my concern until I'm able to acquire a new device for rooting purposes so is there a fix for non rooted devices

Flash the tweaked version which includes the SD card fix.
http://goo.im/devs/bigxie/togari/bigxie_togari_GPe_KOT49H_tweaked-signed.zip
Will need to flash a kernel with custom recovery first - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49565501&postcount=337 with Flashtool

Hello, can anyone extract this widget and send it to me by email? I removed it accidentally but I don't wanna re flash whole system and loose all my settings because of that. I suppose it should be apk and odex files. They can be found in one system directory. Please pm me for email. Thanks

Why don't you open the flashable zip of your rom? Then you can extract it yourself
How to do that? What ROM?

Download a 2.3.6 rom flashable zip file. Open it and go to system/app extract the file and copy it to your phone. Install it and your done.
If you want to install a system app then you need to be rooted. So i thought you already had a flashable zip file.
I got my firmware downloaded only. It is md5.tar file. Is this what you are talking about or should I download something else?

I didn't install anything, just copied apk file from SD card into system/app directory. Odex file can't be replaced. No matter what error, just tell me if I have to run 7ZIP program, pack both files and then flash via CWM?

You flashed a zip file?
Is the apk file still in system/app? If not just place it there and wipe the caches. Without flashing a file.
BTW I don't know exactly how I make a good flashable zip file. Search and it shouldn't be hard to find and make.

I'm not allowed to delete system files as they are in use and any operation is restricted, even while rooted!
Whatever, I flashed my firmware from scratch and f**k it still won't work because I run Go Launcher Ex which is not compatible with stock widget.
