Hey guys, I recently came across an app which lets you take nandroid backups (EXACTLY like the ones we take from recovery) WITHOUT going into recovery. Meaning, you don't need to power down your cell, enter recovery and then execute backup....you can do that (in a way) 'online' i.e. while you simultaneously use your cell.
I hope this makes you appreciate it's utility.
I've taken (and will continue to take) several backups using this app and they all were flawless! Not a single problem with restoring backups (via CWM) also! Give it a try and you'll be amazed how handy this tool really is...
Hats off to the original dev (Ameer Dawood) for making life so much easier! :good:

Nah! The app takes nandroid backup EXACTLY like through recovery, but it takes it while you simultaneously use your cell....as in an 'online' backup ..You don't need to power down your cell and enter recovery to take backup .....and the backup is stored in sd, not the cloud (although you can save it in your dropbox folder which eventually will be uploaded to cloud storage)....Hope this makes the use of app more clear (I'll update OP too)....just give it a try and you'll know what I mean...

Hey, ppl does anyone know of an app Calendar that stores the entries locally (on the sd or phone) so that I can move them later by hand. I find it much better to have a hard backup on my pc than on some server...
And can anyone tell me whats the theme with the pockets in the corners for 3 apps pls?
Thanks in advance!

until now i had a rpm with phone hack but now i want to change the rom,the problem is that the new rom dosen't have a phone hack so whatsapp wont work on it.i know that there is a way to make whatsapp work without a phone hack i just didnt understand how because im total noob so i will glad if someone here will explain me in details what to do.please dont jump over things because for me its not obvious and i wont do what you wont tell.
thanks for all the helpers!
Make a backup of whatsapp using titanium backup and store it in your dropbox or somewhere. Then flash the new ROM, download your backup and restore it using titanium backup

Whenever you are going to flash a new ROM, I would recommend backing up whatsapp again so you don't lose any of your conversations

Titanium was great
Upon restoring you have to choose to install each app during the process but that's fine, a lot faster than installing from Market ^^
Titanium backup, choose backup my apps ,and then "tick" app only from menu and press GO!!

It might be a bit late but save your picture mail (if you have any) because the sms backup Danny recommended (that I also use myself ironically enough lol) doesn't backup mms

You should also consider using an alternate SMS app like Go SMS with build in backup function.

I prefer the AOSP phone app myself, but why remove one at all? Just use Titanium Backup to freeze which ever one you don't want to use. That way if a problem comes up with the phone app you choose to keep, you can unfreeze the other.
Cheers!
