[Q] Baseband build - HTC Desire X

Hello guys,
I'd like to ask you what's the radio or baseband in our Desire X and if I need to have the ROM with the very same number as mine (1.14 instead of 1.18).
I mean my radio or baseband version is 10.18.40.05U_1.09.45.201 which refers to the 1.14 build (if I'm not mistaken) and I have installed the 1.18 deodexed rom that infernal77 uploaded which I believe it has a different baseband number. Is that a problem? Should I flash 1.14 instead of 1.18?
Thank you very much and I'm sorry for being this noob

Should I update to Modaco ROM or WWE ROM

Hello,
My phone info is as follows:
Model Number : HTC Hero
Firmware Version: 1.5
Baseband Version: 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
Kernel Version: 2.6.27-8dd6deee [email protected])
Build Number: 2.73.728.5 146733 CL#61267 release-keys
Software Version: 1.0.0.A6288
Its one of those East Asian version of the phone. I am not sure if I wanna update my phone to Modaco or the WWE Rom. Any ideas??
Also, if you could point me in the direction of how to go about with either one of those, that would be great.
Please any help in this matter will really be appreciated.
Thank You.
I think you are uptodate. You cant choose though.
To put Modaco Designer (I mean Rom) you have to perform certain ritual called "Root Way", as his roms are not RUU.
Thanks for ur reply Lucan. I dont know if I am up to date or not as yet, cuz for some reason I do not have market on my phone and I surely need to have that to get apps. I dont mind if I have to root my phone, just want to get a good custom rom that doesnt have much problems and has the access to market.
You mean no Market as apk? In that case I would first consult your network provider for their explnation if the said one also supplied your handset.
Or take a journey to Rootway.

HTC Hero 2.1 Radio update

It seems that there is a new baseband version for the HTC Hero
(63.18.55.06OU_6.35.15.01)
I'm using an Austrian T-Mobile G2 Touch and at the moment I'm running on baseband version: 63.18.55.06U_6.35.04.25
Is it safe to update to the new baseband version? It should be now problem to flash the old radio if the new one don't work, but I couldn't find a download for my version. Only for version 63.18.55.06_6.35.04.25 (without "U")
What is the difference in the various versions (without character, with U, EU, FU, JU, HU, IU, OU)
Should I update to the new version?

When you say root do you mean so you can add other ROMs or do you mean so you can add/remove system files?
More information would be handy go to settings > about > software version and post

There is my newbie guide in my sig or there is a "1 click method" being discussed in a topic in the dev forum which you might want to look at.

Well first of all your going to need a recovery ROM onto your hero to allow you to install custom ROMS. Some ROMS come with ROOT, Some Don't.
Because you have build 2.73.771.73 you will need to first install the flashrec application and then download a recovery ROM and use flashrec to load it onto your phone. The recovery ROM is the gateway to unlocking your device for maximum potential.

I have no knowledge of this ROM, but what you can do is ask from where you got it from.

help needed installing ROM

I've seen many roms uploaded here but do not know if they would work on my X10.
I have rooted it. Busybox and Xrecovery installed..
Firmware version : 2.1 update 1
baseband version : 2.0.46
Kernal version : 2.6.29
Build number : 2.0.A.504
I'm new to all of this so any help would be appreciated
I wanted to install this.. would it work on mine?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865580
I think that ROM requires the 2.0.2.A.0.24 build number. You can flash the build firmware using flashtool. And then you can install this ROM with xRecovery I believe.
I've heard you can lose your 3g conenction, is this true? I'm on o2 in the UK.. does this matter?
You can lose your signals if you don't flash the correct baseband I believe.
ALWAYS make a backup of your original ROM before installing a new one, so that if any problem occurs or if youre unsatisfied with the ROM, you can revert back to the old one.
