Add the following line at the end of buid.prop file

But you have change dpi?

wait a sec.. where the hell is dat file?
-- ok found it.
is there any way to change height of this nav bar?
Re: [MOD] Force Navigation bar like<br>Nexus 4
I think to change dpi we must modify framework.apk file...

don't. You need to change build.prop or simply use a program like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.birdapi.android.dpi

Re: [MOD] Force Navigation bar like<br>Nexus 4
Any of you get messed up screen with this mod? Everything is shifted and there is space to the right. Happens only to stick launcher, keyboard.
Also lg quick memo force closes
Undid the mod and everything is back to normal

What's the point of this mod that eats a bit of my screen? We already have the two soft buttons and the hard menu button. Like S3
Re: [MOD] Force Navigation bar like<br>Nexus 4
thats the point. hard menu button!!

I enabled the soft buttons and you are right! I really miss the extra 1-2 lines of text when browsing the web and half of an icon on my home screen!

you must be talking about the stock lg apps such as camera, quick memo and launcher, right?
Re: [MOD] Force Navigation bar like<br>Nexus 4
The reason I got this phone was the 4.7" screen, I don't wanna lose anything of it
this is optional mod. dunno why you complain about it telling us that you don't want to use it. just give it a try, remove or do whatever you want.
I did it as someonq said: hard button. it makes me angry because i hate those hard buttons especially when i was using them for like 3 years on iPhone..
Re: [MOD] Force Navigation bar like<br>Nexus 4
Something about having redundant buttons just irks those with common sense, I guess. All serve an identical purpose and offer no difference whatsoever in sensivity and/or context, so you're basically doing it 'just because'.

Except that clicking sound of home button can wake up wife/girlfriend/children/dog at night. And the button have to be pressed much harder than swipe on touchscreen.
I am terribly sorry that your [finger] is that weak.

i prefer to use on-screen softkey button (navigation bar) home/multitask/back than orignal hardkey ones.
Anyone know there is an existed mod to achieve it ?
[Solved]
Just root, then put this in the build.prop this line:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Reboot the phone, now you can have a navigation bar on the screen. Have fun.
Is there a way to put the back button on the left? I'm used to it being on the left.

You need to recompile it and change the value of dimens.xml inside framework1\res\values\
Why din.t you use button savior app? It works for root/nonroot, with a great ui and customization

In some cases it may or may not work that way... for example if a single mod is being done on the same apk, then simply flashing one mod after the other is just going to replace the old modded apk with the new one
For example: If one framework-res.apk has only Ripple effect enabled, then flashing another framework-res.apk with "weather on lockscreen" will cause losing of ripple effect

That's a good idea though, but who has the time?
I will try to bake all that in my ROM (if I get some free time )

Sorry for OT: Did any of your try ripple effect on lock screen... for me whenever I enable it, my lock screen loses all its color and contrast; but still the "ripple" works.... and if I disable it, it becomes ok again... anyone else noticed this??

But I think the folks at Ace and S3 Mini section found a fix for this... I remember seeing a screenshot of an Ace running JB with ripple effects (without that bug) in a thread somewhere in the xda forums.. I did ask them how they did it but no one bothered to reply...

The ripple effect has a white shadow image imposed on the lockscreen in order for you to be able to see the ripple effect. Without that the ripple effect won't be visible. So it is not a bug really, but it does wash out the lockscreen somewhat and is quite noticeable if you have a transparent status bar. The ink effect doesn't seem to do this tho so not sure why.

I was looking through the framework-res from the weather on lockscreen mod and noticed a differents in the bools.xml
in the stock one it shows:
<bool name="config_isWaterRippleLightEnabled">true</bool>
in the mod it shows:
<bool name="config_isWaterRippleLightEnabled">false</bool>
wonder if that makes a difference.. not tried it myself but just an idea that maybe...

So that means there is another way to enable Ripple Effect - in which that "color loss problem" is not seen...
I wonder, would it be possible to get the "updated" Ripple effect - the one S4.. maybe some kind of smali editing maybe?
Sorry if this is in the wrong spot. Saw this could be done for the S3 in the prop. Would be great if soft key nav bar could be added for s4.

This mod has the option for soft nav buttons. You need the famework and the paid app.
But it lets you customize tons of things.

Hi,
i'm still on 4.2.2 because of one only thing : i don't wanna see the softkeys anymore! (or just when i swipe up)
I read everywhere that "Auto Hide Softkeys" (that i use now) is buggy on kitkat, and that UDN Pro too.
Is there a solution to do the same thing?
Or have i to wait for an update of one of theses apps?
Thanks for your replies
U can install rooted kitkat rom and xposed with gravity box to activate the expanded desktop mode and pie control , thats what I do and it works pretty well

You know I was thinking about installing gravity box. I used it on my Nexus 4. But it seems to indicate that you can't use it on heavily modified roms. So, does GB work well with our G2?

I think that stopped development. It was supposed to go on to another version where it could be app specific. I don't like immersive mode on my home screen. I am using a module called soft keys fade mod... I like it pretty well...
Sent from my LG-D801 using xda app-developers app
so, i'm now on kitkat, rooted.
I've tried immersive me, and it's quiet strange.
There's a blank area at the bottom of the screen on the launcher.
Sometime the softkeys are blacks (not transparent anymore), doesn't disappear.
i don't know, i'm not very satisfied with that.
Soft keys fade mod doesn't do the thing i want...
So, what to do?
wait for an update of autohide hotkeys?

Static Soft Keys
is there any way to make the softkeys static in any orientation? i want these keys always at bottom, like hardware keys.
Hello,
PAC user and devs.
I would like to request the implement of the Quick setting panel smart-pulldown function in PAC rom.
For the person who mostly uses the phone single handed it would be very useful!
Isn't this already in the Pac Pellets? When I pull down on the right side all my quick settings are and pull down from left gives notifications
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
No it's not the same. Smart pulldown function is that for an example when there is no removable notification it will pull the QSP instead of notif drawer.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
This one. The one from Gravitybox cannot/unable to override PAC's QSP behavior that's why I'm here requesting this feature.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
This would be excellent ^.^
