Guys, the galaxy GT I8150, really needs more support, every time i need to do anything for my phone it takes me ages to find a program or a safe way to do it.:crying::crying:

I am getting LG Optimus 2X and now my Galaxy Ace will collect dust...
But instead i will give the ace away to a talented AOSP developer that knows how to do it, and ofc have experience.
The reason i want to give it away is cause there is not enough developers on Galaxy Ace as you can see in our forum.
There is only 1 problem with the phone, and that is the screen.
It is cracked in the display, i dropped it but accident on a 12 hour work day and it just cracked, i cant post the pics but you can pm me and i will send you 2 tinypic links(i can reupload anyway you like but they are ready), 1 that shows the screen off and 1 where it is on.
The phone works 100% other then that, touch(i play GBCoid on it and it works perfectly) gps data calls both mic and small speaker works and the speaker behind works also, havent use it much.
I would figure that the screen it self does not need to be perfect to have a developer phone
I have no idea if it has somekind of protection, it has CWM 5 from the forums and Grifs CM 7.1. no idea if bootloader is protected or other things.
If i find a worthy person of this great phone i will send it to him/her and i will pay the delivery, totaly free, with the original charger and USB Cable also original, and ofc the box.
All i want in return is an active developer, and hopefully you can bring friends so Kernel(if you dont know how to) and other stuff is working.
I must say for a cheap phone the Galaxy Ace is perfect for everyday use and as a member of the android family it deserve atleast some more attention then what it gets already.
On the 5th of January i will have given this phone away, if not here then to a RL friend, if not earligere.
Feel free to ask anything you like, but keep it real(clean = no flamming or disreguard of rules)
There is a guy called Emoboiix3 floating around in the Ace forums. He's done a lot of good things for the SGA. My recommendation =]

tbh he dont update much, and it aint working his aosp rom, i want more blood into the forum, and only way is to get more people with a phone.

You can pause repo by force closing the terminal .
Then when you're re-starting repo just type:

$ chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
$ repo sync

Same as MrChaosDesire; I thought this thread was for developers to come up and ask for themselves, and not the users coming up and saying "+1 <insert a developer's name here>". Some of you won't even know if a particullar dev is in need of the phone or not.
In last (contradicting my above mentioned point) I'd like to suggest fuss132, since he's desparately developing for Ace without even owning one.

IT iz agreed that the phone is a mid-range device and not something very BIG in front of Its Galaxy-S line-up siblings but it is still a very popular VERY VERY popular phone bcoz of its price and looks
it is rightfully in this place. optimus one is older but try comparing that in terms of activity.
in term of developement ace is low activity....
have a look at developement threads of other devices and ace.. hell of difference..
i am glad that atleast we have separate section
bevore i had the wildfire s. ace is much better i think. much easier to root and there are realy cool roms out there. i think there is much aktivity on the ace

Upgrading from the Desire. All the devs I'm used to seem to have moved to the One X.
Just wondering who will develop ROMs for the S3?

Well Gadget Check who is the co dev of the best ever ROM for the SGSII said he will be getting a Galaxy S3 so there is just one of the leading developers who will be coming onboard.
The developers of SiyahKernel and NEAK and Chainfire have also already signaled their support for the S3.
The only question is, whether there will be one or two development threads like the S2.

There will be at least two because im sure the retarded US Carriers will want there own branded version to be different. I expect most developers however will either be buying the international version themselves or will be getting one from our community on XDA ... So if u want the most dev support I suggest the international version.

I am upgrading my phone 9/22, I had a Samsung Infuse 4G, I wanted to get some real world opinions about the Galaxy Note. How well does it work for you? Are you happy with it? Are there any ram issues(not enough?).
I'm trying to decide between the Note and S3, I know the S3 is newer and has more ram, but I'm really leaning toward the Note.
So what say you?

I would also wait for the note 2, if you can hold out that long. If not, with all of the awesome devs here, we have most of the features that the s3 has plus the advantage of the bigger screen. So I would pick the note.

No worries, and if you decide on a Note or S3, or the Note 2, all have great support and the Communities of user are great and providing, I have been in all those threads, and as you know coming from the Infuse Community that being a great supportive Community, You will have no problem in any of these mentioned Threads/Community. IMHO

I have infuse and note. My co-worker has S3. Note is way better then infuse. But only 1gb ram. S3 has 2gb ram so It works better then note sometimes. Note2 will be the answer.

According to the current senario i will say Sony.. Yes, Samsung was very supportive initially.. But now a days Sony seems to extend more support than any other OEM.. dont forget that Sony was chosen as the OEM of the year by XDA last time.. .. And the latest news is that CM backing out from supporting SG S4.. for obvious reasons..
Exactly. Sony has been consistently becoming more awesome. A lot of the CM devs decided not to develop for Exynos devices because of improper documentation and source code for the processors by Samsung. The Snapdragon processor version will certainly get CM, and the other one will also likely get it. Like the Galaxy Note 2. A lot of prominent Samsung device devs refused to develop for it because it was troublesome, so someone else took it up. So yeah, in light of things Sony is the most proactive and actually seems to care about third party development.
