Hi all,
about a month ago, all of sudden, my phone started to turn off automatically every now and then, every time more frequently, until three days ago, when my phone's display definitely ceased to live. I'm still able to turn it on, and I can still hear the vibration sound when I try to touch somewhere in the touch screen.
Now, going straight to the question, I need to unroot SII and send it to the assistance centre, but I just don't know how to do it.
I would really appreciate your attention and your help, sorry for the bad grammar and great congratulations for the community by a fellow lurker
Try to use ODIN to flash the stock rom.
edit: Found tutorial google "[HOWTO] RESTORE STOCK ROM / RECOVER BAD FLASHES", it's on rootzwiki.

Guyz,
I recently lost my samsung guru on my way to office and then I had to switch back the old galaxy i7500 lying around for months. It was still alive and had recently been services(the touchscreen) by the authorized service centre.
I am comfortable with recovery/rom and before sending it to service I had galaxo 1.6(the latest stable back then) on my phone. I even had some(3 to be exact) nandroid backups on my phone. After it returned from the service centre it started acting strange. Now the problem begins.
It looks & works completely fine until I call somebody. Then something just starts running in the background, random keypresses, some random application starts, and I see the volume bar all the time as some continuous volume up command is given, I presume. It just goes on like this during the entire call and even a few seconds after the call. Another problem is it silents my phone every time someone calls me, so no matter what I set in the settings I never ever hear a ring when someone calls me, even the vibration gets off.
Solutions I tried: Obviously I tried formatting the storage(it doesn't have any external storage). Flashing the ROM, changing the ROM, drakaz 2.1, recovery 6.6 etc. Nothing helped, I even tried(with some workaround) and got the old nandroid backup restored . .. but to no avail. I have currently Kaspersky installed on my phone but even it can not detect anything. I have not given odin a try yet as I am on Mac and currently not very comfortable with heimdall.
I must thank you for reading this long post of mine & appreciate any little help any of you can offer, even some sympathy will do.
Thanks in advance,
Abhinav
It's probably not a virus if you completely reflashed your phone, unless it nestled itself in the recovery (or other partitions that don't get wiped).
Have you tried flashing a new radio? If the problem starts when calling maybe the radio is corrupt or fried or somehow busted. Also, the radio isn't affected when you switch ROMs so it would explain why reflashing/wiping/restoring backups doesn't help.
Since your phone isn't officially supported I have no idea how you would go about finding alternative radios though.

Sounds more like an issue with the screen rather than a software issue. I'd take it back to the service center and have them take another look, it could've been improperly fixed.

Hi All
Total Android noob question. I have received my new Galaxy S2 (P) and updated to ICS via Keis. All went well and I'm starting to get to know the phone. (Been a Winmo user up 'til now) Anyway I have noticed that sometimes a red frame around the screen briefly flashes when moving between apps or doing other stuff. The phone seems to be functioning correctly and is certainly fast. I'm sure this "flashing" wasn't there initially so is there something I should be aware of or is this "normal" Any advice gratefully received

I had the same problem on my Galaxy S II & found the solution on another forum so not my solution...
menu/settings/developer options/.... & uncheck strict mode enabled.
This fixed it for me.
Thanks ericb. I had also found the same answer on another forum and it has worked. Thanks again
Just found this, Thanks a lot. Didn't think it first helped on my HTC One X, but after a restart the red frame is finally gone
Thanks ericb

Hello there, i have Galaxy s2 as specified in the title, before installing any costume ROM the phone was alright but after i installed Darky Rom the phone started to be a little buggy, so i went and i followed few simple steps on how to bring back s2 on stock firmware, problem was that it never got rid of those little bugs, from time to time, it freezes, the proximity sensor doesn't work, i answer calls and BAMM it doesn't work, it gets stuck phone is still ringing but can't do nothing, even if i do a wipe on it wouldn't help because i did it few times and it just wouldn't work as it should.. anyone has any idea why does it act like that? the phone is still new...
Symptoms when stuck:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Works laggy
when press on unlock button "power key" screen is black can't see its unlock screen wallpaper
it over heats.

Hi,
A hour ago i was leaving my work my when i accidentally dropped my phone on the stairs.:crying:
My phone screen doesnt work anymore so i have a real problem now because i flashed my phone several times and of course its rooted.
So i thought of restoring my phone with odin to the stock rom unrooted the only problem i will have is my flash counter i want to send my phone back to samsung but how do i use triangleaway if my phone screen is dead?
Edit: Screen doesnt work, Led does sound does, connecting it to my laptop also works only the screen and the touch buttons (menu & Back) doesnt work (lightup)
Can somebody provide with some advice i really would appreciate it also sorry for my bad english.
Hi everybody i am asking for advice on trying to repair a phone for a family member the phone is a galaxy alpha F variant UK stock rom, factory unlocked and unrooted the problem started after finishing a call the handset was left un attended and when it was later picked up the screen was black but does not appear broken aywhere and does not appear to respond to touch
i have tried un successfully to get it into recovery or download modes the handset turns on and the blue lights come on and you can hear the start up tone but see nothing on screen, it also charges and i have tried a new battery, odin does recognise a device but as i cant get it into download i cant flash a stock rom which i have already downloaded.
So my question is, is there any software that i can download to diagnose whether or not the screen is dead or whether it is a f/w issue or is there a way around this where i can use a different tool to get into the handset and flash a new stock rom in case the current f/w is corrupted
Thanks in advance for any useful help and advice
Please understand that i am a newb to this so if i have made some mistakes or my questions have been answered elsewhere previously i do apologise
I think it seems pretty obvious that the problem is the display itself
Hi BigHands,
I faced a problem having the exact same symptoms as yours twice in the last few month: screen was staying black but phone reacted to some "external" actions (ON/OFF), blue light.
Not sure what happened exactly, but removing the battery and trying to restart the phone finally brought the device back to life after trying more than than 10 times!!!
So in my case, the display was probably not the (only) root cause.
Really weird however that I needed to reboot the phone >10times to make it work: usually when software is screwed either one single power cycle will bring the device back to life or it will never power up again!
Anyways, a FW issue is still a possibility considering the number of bug this phone has (for the price it was sold, that phone is definitely the worse gadget I ever owned!)... But it seems there is a bunch of FW updates on going on this model accross the world, so there is still a little hope things might improve... Samsumg may have woken up; who knows...
