ok did you just copy the actual key? not the Identifier Token End part
I GOT it the root kits needs to be updated he did a good job but the files from the sdk apperientaly have been updated sin e he made it so I'm guessing it didn't pan out so well but after I manually set up the HTC dev folder and extracted the files from the sdk it was easy as Hell ran the unlock token.bat had to drag and drop it from down loads to the android folder Nd put the folder in my c directory so after all that it was simple flashed the custom recovery over adb and the su.zip made a nandroid back up and boom rooted I got verification from root checker he just simply needs to update it a bit is all

First off, suddenly the text prediction has stopped working is that what your talking about? And for data try either doing a battery pull if possible, making sure the correct network mode is set under network options in system settings, toogle airplane mode on then off, run a fix permissions utility (Search for fix permissions on the play store), and a basic reboot. Fix permissions should also fix the text prediction issue, for that you can also try going under system settings->application manager->running applications-> keyboard then selecting clear cache. Let me know if you still have questions .

Root now. It's pretty safe (I mean, nothing is 100% certain) but so long as you follow directions, you'll be fine. Use this toolkit and you should be good.

Im assuming you have ATT.
Upon rooting, make sure to stay away from anything that says INTERNATIONAL. If it does not state, make sure to check the posts in the thread, or post yourself to see if its for ATT or INTERNATIONAL. Most of the development in this subforum is for the INTERNATIONAL HOX+ so be aware and be cautious.
Other then that. Rooting is simple and not dangerous at all. Toolkit works perfect, MAKE SURE TO FLASH ATT TWRP RECOVERY

Okay thank you, I just don't wanna brick my phone lol. I was this careful even when i rooted my Inspire 4G couple years back. You can't let your phone die when you root right?
Nope, root alone does no.harm! But you gotta have unlocked bootloader
What exactly does the unlocked bootloader do? I'm pretty much a noob right now. still learning but right now i'm a hardcore noob lol. I'm gonna go on HTCdev.com to unlock my bootloader now.

You can also skip the htc process and just soff and use revone to unlock boot loader. head over to htc international and follow vomer's guide to soff if you have never done it. great guide. make sure your hboot is less than 1.54. its under the "one android development" may be a page back, but it is a wonderful guide.

I had that issue as well, when your copying the token ID you need to make sure you only highlight the characters exactly. I was highlighting just past the last character of the token, like an extra empty space and it gave me problems.

I just received my vzw one max replacement device today and when I activated it automatically started to upgrade the firmware to 4.4 I didn't want that to happen. I didn't see a way to stop the ota process so I turned off my device. It was at 10% when I shut it down. Is there a way to manually make the downloading process stop? If I have to let it continue will I still be able to root/unlock using the same method rum runner. I'm asking because I still have all of the files for rooting and unlocking that I used on my other max saved on my pc. Thanks I hope I didn't make this to complex.

It'll ask to install after downloading. So no worries. Just root as you did before. Download and apply update, reflash recovery/su. Then you should be good to go .

After it downloaded it gave me 2 options 1st option was to install now 2nd option said to install later and it gave me the option to pick a time, I set the time for it to install at 11:59 pm on 4-12-14 eastern time.
