Xperia U known issues (ICS) - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi, I would like to upgrade my xperia U to official ics. Can anybody specify the known issues after ICS upgrade. I am from India, where v...1.10 official ics update is available. Thanks in advance.

1.10 is awful. Use flashtool and flash .54 ftf in development section

In that case what will be warranty ? What about lagging and camera issue of. 54?

Warranty is fine as it's all official firmware. What camera issue in 54? My mum has a U on that firmware and says all is good

There are so many. 54 links in dev section. Which one is original firmware for U?

Original is many times with word "STOCK"

Update availabe for Xperia Neo- Build 4.0.2.A.0.62

Hi guys,
I Just want to inform you that yesterday I updated my Xperia neo and got 2.3.4 build 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Does anybody know what are changes since previous build?
Using 4.0.2.A.0.62 I can not root using DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su,
So becareful, you may need to wait until some solution for rooting is found.
Is It Available For Neo V Too ... Cant Find In My Region.. Will Wait Till There Is Any Solution For Rooting
Which region are you in?
Screenshot of about phone?

I have rooted 4.0.2.A.0.62.
First I flashed InteksV15 kernel. After I used DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.
it's working
But after it will be running on Inteks kernel. You may need to extract original one from 4.0.2.A.0.62
and reflash it.

Thanks for the method will give a go today ......
I have my neo rooted with locked bootloader and 0.42 firmware.
If I upgrade to 0.62 ,I supposed it won't be rooted any more.
Right?
Any way to root it again with locked bootloader?

I can get the update, but I have an unlocked bootloader so I used flashtool. But I had a conversation with @SonyEricssonNL, and it turned out I have a scandinavian SI number.
I think you can just use flashtool to flash the ftf, also non-rooted.

[HELP]Stock ROM

Hey XU guys!
I have an ST25i and I need a bit of help.
I am running an unknown ROM that I don't know how to fix. If any of you have...
-An Xperia U ST25i
-Rooted
-CWM installed
-Stock ROM and Kernel
Can you...
Go into CWM. Go into advanced. And do create firmware.zip and send it to me. I need it back to stock and PCC and Flashtool won't work.
Thanks!

If its all stock than sus should work, did you install all drivers? Did you connect phone properly to the pc? What is exactly your problem?

Hey
Well my problem is that I am running a ROM that is not stock
I would like to revert back to it so I may get OTA updates.
In Pcc it said my phone was already updated.
And I cannot install Flashtool. I tried to use it to root my XU and it never worked.
PS what is sus?
Thanks

Why don't you just go to settings/ about phone and see what you're running?

Yes but I now know what from it was. Its called Infinity Smooth Custom System ROM, and as it says in the title, it was only a system ROM, which didn't require a new boot.img to be fastboot flashed.

Is the bootloader unlocked? That may be why ota updates and pcc won't work

I could do that but I was looking up if there is a way I could relock the bootloader and restore it with PCC?
Sent from my ST25i
I think you can re lock. Not too sure how it works tho. There are definitely guides around tho!
If you're keeping the phone for yourself tho I'd keep it unlocked and just flash cm9. It'll be far faster and smoother than stock
Sent from my Android 4.2.1 Xperia S
Couple of things.
First of all thanks for all of your help.
Secondly, I am keeping it for myself, but I'm a tad concerned about installing a custom ROM and Kernel.
I have heard of CyanogenMod and apparently they offer a near stock experience. But as Flashtool is not working for me, if I fastboot flash the boot.img then would that mean I could never revert back to stock?
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
Yea you can always revert back to stock. But I promise you'll never want too. Lol. If you already have cwm then all you need to do is download the cm9 zip and flash in recovery (following instructions in the thread as to what to wipe)
As for flashtool, have you installed all the drivers from the drivers file?

[Q] Should i upgrade to JB on xperia go ?

hey guys,
I just bought my xperia Go, and i've been reading around, to "assimilate" all this information. I have a couple of questions:
Fact1: My phone is a locked bootloader, and is not possible to unlock.
Fact2: It has ICS 6.1.1.B.1.54
Fact3: My carrier (tmn Portugal) still isnt upgrading to Jb. So for me there is no official update to JB yet.
Questions:
Should i upgrade to JB ? wich rom should i use? If i upgrade to official JB, its not possible to root yet? Or should i root my phone before upgrade? Im confused, if you guys could help me out. Thanks
Do you get notification update at Sony PC Companion?
If no you need to root your phone and change SI number at build.prop to get update or you can download JB ft and flash via flash tool.

Hey Ben, thanks for your answer.
Nope, i don't get any update notification. What method do you recommend?
On the link below, there is 2 JB oficial ftf files, which one should i use?!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2267712
Also, if i update to a stock JB firmware, i will not be able to root?
Thanks
