Hi guys....i'm an experienced developer who ported CM9 on lg P500......today i have a Galaxy SIII Mini and i want to start to develop for this device. Meanwhile i'm helping oliver for cm10, i want to develop a custom kernel. The objective is to have good battery life and great perfomances.
Changelog for v2:
MultiCore Sched Support
JRCU (an RCU optimized for multicore devices)
Optimized Arm RWSem Algorithm
Autogroup Sched
LowmemoryKiller updated to latest version and enabled an option that calculates automatically oom values
Added some Mali patches (thanks to cocafe)
SLQB memory allocator
Row I/O Scheduler default
JIT compiler for net packages
CleanCache
A lots of new Governors
A lots of patches that you can find here: https://github.com/lupohirp/GoldenKernel/commits/master
BUG!!!!! : Reboot option doesn't work. Must fix this in samsung drivers!
Here's changelog for v1:
Kernel compiled with linaro gcc 4.7.3
Added hotplug and pegasusq governor
Cpu unaligned specified path
Dynamic fsync control
Here's the download link(V2):https://hotfile.com/dl/202694028/d947bb6/goldenkernelv2.zip.html
Kernel Sources Here: https://github.com/lupohirp/GoldenKernel
Change Governor with setcpu or nofrills. I reccomend to use OnDemandQ governor for this reason: OnDemandQ disable the second core when is not needed and reactivate it when cpu load is heavy. the result is a great perfomance with a a really good battery drain
For install this FLASH WITH RECOVERY!!!

thx a lot for your work, have installed, there is one problem i can see at once, i can not set cpu freq above 800, when you set to 1000 it´s changes to 800
Edit: forget about 800, i did not understood power saving mode , but governor choice does not persist reboot
Installed and setCPU governor to hotplug and I will see how it goes.
Is it possible to have also stock CWR kernel , just in case...?

If your signature is correct you have the -N version S3 mini would you try to switch NFC on after flashing the kernel? if it works it means he used the right configuration file when compiling and the kernel is universal for all the I8190 variants Thank you very much!

I stayed with smartass2 for a while now on MIUI and Wildmonks Kernel. This kernel lacks that smartass2 govenor, so i am using the tweaked ondemand one. I must say it is smoother and i didn't have any issues so far. Battery drain is ABOUT the same - cannot really give any definite opinions cuz i used it for only hours now.
But i'll report back. Try the ondemand one - its good so far.
How install it? Should i put the zip on the SD card and install it in the bootloader?
Add SmartAssV2 governor please.

Come to think about it, ever since I flashed one of his previous builds, every time I try to flash a diff kernel I get this problem. Think I had this problem with one of IR's kernels...

How To Use Multiboot:
With v1.6 of DM Kernel for ICS, I introduce multiboot feature.
It is similar to the nandroid backup and restore function, but with a new menu and everything is done automatically
The menu is as follows:
Activate ROM
Backup ROM
Delete ROM
Inside each of this option we have 6 ROMs.
The steps to use Multiboot are as follows:
Install any ROM via the Install via Zip option. (Flash DM Kernel v1.9+)
Backup your ROM at any position as per your wish.
Install another ROM again via the Install via Zip option. (again flash DMv1.9+ and Up)
Backup that ROM at any position as per your wish.
Switch between ROM's using the Activate ROM option ( Backup your ROM each time before switching to another ROM)
Also I will try and automate more features.

How To Switch Between Auto Brightness and Compass on AOSP ROM's:
Thanks to myfluxi, we now have support for Auto Brightness and Compass Mode on AOSP Rom's similar to xxfluxi kernel.
Steps to follow:
1) Download the Sensors.zip file from attachments.
2) Extract the files on sdcard.
3) If you want to have Auto-Brightness, then rename sensors.exynos4.so.os to sensors.exynos4.so
4) If you want to have Compass, then rename sensors.exynos4.so.prop to sensors.exynos4.so
5) Remember, you cannot have both
6) Copy that sensors.exynos4.so file to /system/lib/hw/ and reboot your phone.

Yes, it's not flashable .zip. You don't need to install them. The kernel works with stock ones OK. There are only two modules that can be needed: cifs.ko and ntfs.ko.
The free ram never low than 200M. The minimum RAM is too big. Can you redistribute RAM? For example the minimum RAM to 50M. I want to play the Vegas but SP always kill the game process because RAM not enough. Sorry for my poor English.

On the other hand, is there any way to install only a voltage module instead the whole kernel? I've got no unlockable bootloader i fear.

¿How to...
activate zRAM?
If you want to activate zRAM, a ZIP (beta) is available in attachments.
It will create a 64mb compressed block device. Needs busybox and init.d support
A log can be found in /data/zram.log
Please, don't use this if you really don't need it or you don't know about the advantages and disadvantages.
activate SWAP?
If you want to activate SWAP, a ZIP (beta) is available in attachments.
It will create a 128mb file for swap in /cache partition. Needs busybox and init.d support
A log can be found in /data/swap.log
Please, don't use this if you really don't need it or you don't know about the advantages and disadvantages.

Mmm stock xnna2? Can you give me a link to the rom? I want to try with it but I can't find it....
The "unavailable" on the kernel version is an issue about the name but nothing else...
I will fix that in the next version...
What do you want to say with button light? The capacitive buttons light doesn't turn on never?

Yes never turned on
Here is the link
Thanks for the link. I tried the kernel with ANB1 ANA2 and the only problem is kernel version unavailable... Please, you can try to check what says CPUSpy about kernel version?

you have clearly not done any research on the subject of overclocking this phone
please take some time to read up on the subject of overclocking before you go requesting for it
as for making request
at no point should you forget that developers on here have their own lives
the work they do here is a hobby
they do not get paid to do this work
keep that in mind at all times

Yeah, I know that it's unstable and a little dangerous to overclock this phone, but it shouldn't harm the device to go to 1.2ghz, right?

Overclock the Mini S III is a hard work and probably not feasible due to battery drain ... On the other hand, I have my device little while ago and do not want to damage it yet
I'm sorry but I can't provide overclock for our device...
Still, I'll take a look about it.

No problem man, we're just asking :good:
Btw is this kernel a modded ANA2 one? Both of them are 3.0.3.1, but still better ask

Custom Cyanogenmod12 kernel for the LG G Pad 8.3 V510 (GPE)
Updated 2-21-15 Added FastCharge and three other IO Schedulers to play with. Made Row the default scheduler, and turned off Knock-on by default. Use my app from the second post to activate Knock-on after each boot.
The CyanogenMod12 ROM can be downloaded from HERE
Thank you @aidfarh for all of your hard work!
Custom Kernel built from the cyanogenmod12 kernel source - Download Below
*NOTE - This kernel currently works with stock lollipop as well!
Features:
Flash Through Recovery!
Interactive Governer as default
Compiled using Linaro Toolchain cortex a15-4.9.3
o3 Compile optimizations
Knock-on enabled through app in second post
Fastcharge added as option - enable using Trickstermod
Row, Sio, Fiops, and Zen IO Schedulers added - trickstermod to change
Sound Control using TricksterMod
LCD Screen Control using TricksterMod
Fsync On/Off using Trickstermod (off as default)
User Space Voltage Control - TricksterMod or my 88sleektweaks init.d script to change.
Exfat support (2-4-15 and later CyanogenMod version)
Lots of optimizations with more to come!
The kernel source and Commits that show all changes for this kernel can be found here:GITHUB
Prerequisites
Unlocked bootloader
Root
Install Busybox for init.d support
TricksterMod is recommended for changing settings
How does this work?
Start by making a Backup of your boot in recovery, then:
Flash the latest version in Recovery . Proceed to the downloads below, download to your tablet, reboot into recovery and install the zip --That simple!
if you want to build your own kernel start to finish with complete instructions, you can follow my guide for rolling your own kernel HERE
Please hit "Thanks" to show your support!

ATTACHED FILES
Knock-on app for my kernel can be downloaded here.
To add my sleektweeks init.d file, and/or the Zipalign file, see my post: HERE
Updated -SleekCyan2 - to include exfat support, LCD screen control, and further optimizations for GPU and the linaro toolchain.
Updated - SleekCyan3 - to include knock-on by default, removal of some debugging, quicker deep sleep. (better battery?)
Thanks for the cm12 kernel. I'm liking you're LP kernel, but will try this one as well...

Exfat support for sdcards now works out of the box with CyanogenMod version 2-4-15 and later.
So I flashed this last night when I saw you posted it recently and this morning I checked it and it had zero battery drain overnight, very nice. Can't wait to dig in a little deeper when I get time. Between this and the new CM12, 2015 is really shaping up to be a good year for the old (but great) v510, finally, thank you.
Sleekmason:
I should be able to use the same sleektweaks and zipalign stuff from the Lollipop kernel, correct?
Thanks

Yep! The latest 88sleektweaks has voltage control table as well ( already adjusted down a bit to the settings I use). These can be changed here but be careful! TricksterMod is useful for making the initial changes to test as they won't get restored on boot. If you change them in the file and something goes wrong, you will have to remove the file using twrp.

Just tried it with CM12 and it's a super V510 combo! Feels fast and smooth! Thanks for your XDA development & contribution.
UPDATED 2-12-15
Added Row IO Scheduler and Sound control - Change using trickster or in settings for row, and in trickster for sound control. Also added upstream fixes.
Is Row better than cfq? I think maybe it is . . . Battery will be the deciding factor for me. If anybody wants Row default for this kernel, let me know and I will implement it on next version. Regards,
I'll give it a go tomorrow, currently I've tweeked to Ondemand and ReadAhead to 512. Cool

Are you finding On-demand better than Interactive? Seems like interactive is smoother to me. Also, keep in mind that the larger the read ahead the more battery is used.

Not much difference maybe slightly faster but still analyzing with the new rom update...
BTW, did you see my post cm12 rom about GPS? Maybe you can take a look...
Row is working very good & smooth so far (speed, smooth & stable are my priorities and then battery). Think I'll stay with it; up to you if u want it as default.

Those who speak up get to choose! Row it is! Will update including row as default next compile.
Great kernel guide thread for those of us who like to mod & test settings in Sleek's Cool kernels!
