[Q] Can't access lockscreen/wallpaper after 7.8 cab update - HTC Radar

I updated my Tmobile Radar using the cab files and followed the instructions, making sure to have all the needed language packs. The install went fine and everything seems to work well, i can make call and get email. I can not open the lock screen / wallpapers setting in settings. Whenever I select the lockscreen settings it just flashes and go back to settings. The questions I have is did I do something wrong, is this a known issue. Any ideas on what I could do to fix this. I did restore the phone back to 7.5 and reinstalled the 7.8 update and it is still doing this.
I've done this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2139190
I recieve the same error as the last comment
Thanks for your help

I have the same problem in lumia 510, also the volume does not go beyond 15 and the accent colors are only 11 in total.

Same problem on an HTC Mozart after official update with Zune. Very frustrating, I can't change the annoying 1 minute lockscreen timeout and secure my phone with lockscreen password. Did a factory reset: no luck, backup restore and then updated again: no luck. Who can help me out with this? Grmbl.

Microsoft Myphone wont work!

Hi guys,
recently flashed a new rom onto my HTC HD2..
Obviously it wipes out numbers/contacts etc..
So now when Ive gone to sync my phone with Microsoft MyPhone I get a your phone time is wrong error so I can not complete the setup.
I have changed my phone time, changed the locale to UK etc..
nothing is working!!
Any suggestions?
you can try and re-install it, i have the latest version i think i'll upload it
Double check that the time and date is 100% accurate. Disable the 12 hour clock while setting it up if that helps. If you still have trouble then hard reset the device and start from scratch

[Q] Clock Time change everytime restart & take-out battery

Hi guys... try to search and google for an answer to my problems but cant find the solutions..

and at 1.30 pm on 13/08/10 i turn off the phone and replace the battery with fresh one .. turn it on... the clock will show the time and date as 1.00pm 12/08/10...
time will be reset back to time i on the phone on the first time and it will continue the cycle...

Anybody have this problems before.. ? any idea / tips for the problems.. thks guys and sorry if this repeating Q ...
Same here, tried hard reset or flash another rom but the problem still here...
Any ideas
Will it be a hardware issue?? Pls help!!
no one know?
HTC service Center advised the following :
1. Take out sim card and storage card to eliminate the error tht maybe caused by this 2 items... i've done it... and restart... walaaa... like a charm it works...
But on fine fine day i install cab file... then the old problem again haunted my hd2...
tried the above methods.. this its no longer worked..
Fed-up, i just let it be like that... then on one fine day.. I install another cab file... CHT and CHT Editor to be exact... walaaa... the old problem eliminated.. hv install/uninstall few cab file after tht (analog clock cab file).. so far everything still ok..
I would like to refresh this topic.
It started to happen to me like month ago from no special reason. I use SD Android build, so with every restart to go back to WM, time/date changes from couple minutes to couple weeks to both directions.
Hard reset did not help. Another ROM flashed did not help.
It seems to occur only when rebooting Android -> WM. WM -> WM reset direction mostly OK. Battery-out almost always changes time/date.
Just a thought: Is there any kind of "CMOS battery" like in PC motherboards, that can be weak/broken in the HD2?
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

I've got the same problem using Omega rom v30. It's solved easily enough by using sptimesync to get the exact time. What's your rom? I'm gonna flash and see if anything changes
My ROM is:
WM- HD2O
Android - MccM HD V6
This is also happening to me. It's happened before and it somehow corrected itself, but it's really annoying me at the moment. Any ideas as to the cause? Running WM6.5 ROM, stock 3.14. Not running android at all.

[Q] Galaxy S2 won't send text messages

Hi Guys,
My Galaxy S2 simply will not send any text messages.
It's a UK phone running on Orange network.
It was fine until last night, when I decided to root my phone.
Used ODIN and flashed with the insecure kernel, then rooted using the S2 Root app, and reflashed with 'I9100XWKE2_Kernel'
Now, whatever I do, text messages simply will not send. I've been in to Wireless and Network settings and enabled packet data etc, but nothing works,
Have I installed the wrong kernel, firmware etc?

Love you!
Never seen this number disappear before! Rooted my previous phone {Desire} and installed 100s of clean install ROMs over and over, odd!
where did it go?...
Have also developed this problem recently (possibly as a consquence of migrating from Litening Rom to Criskelo Rom), but I see people with new phones also have it so that may be unrelated.
I've checked the Settings both in Stock SMS and GO SMS Pro, but don't see an option for Message Centre number anywhere ... am I going blind, looking in the wrong place, or has the setting been moved elsewhere?
As on Criskelo Rom, Android is at 2.3.4.
Any ideas gratefully received ... really do not want to do a factory reset in the hope that it will get fixed ...
thanks.

SMS problems
For those who experience problems with the SMS, probably the message center number has disappeared and displays as Not Set.
Open the SMS app and then press the left soft key Menu> select Settings>select Message Centre and type any of the numbers below in the Message Centre input box (depending on your network provider):
O2 - +447802000332
Vodafone - +447785016005
Orange - +447973100973 or +447973100974
It will sort you out

Just a heads up that this doesn't work on quite a few custom ROMs since they don't have an SMSC setting in the SMS app.
I ran in to this problem when I messed with the "preferred network type" setting in the *#*#4636#*#* menu. The only reason I did that is because my phone was stuck on 2G after upgrading my version of Resurrection Remix and I thought this would help. It didn't, and to be honest none of that menu seems to work properly on this phone. Settings don't stick and messing with them seems to screw stuff up in general, though perhaps I'm just stupid (likely).
My SMSC was then set to 00 and I kept getting an "update error" message when I tried to change it back to the right number. I flashed working backups of previous versions of Resurrection, only to have the problem persist (is this setting held on the SIM, rather than on the phone?) and even tried flashing to an old GB version of Lite'ning, still the problem persisted.
In the end I flashed back to stock Samsung ICS, and the SMS app in that ROM has a setting for SMSC when you press menu key -> settings. It was really annoying having to flash back to stock just to fix it, but I assume any ROM based on the stock Samsung version of ICS (rather than AOKP or CM9 based ROMs) will have this setting in the SMS app.
Just a tip for those not on stock Samsung based ROMs, I was tearing my hair out trying to fix the SMSC setting and thought this tip might be helpful.

I have the same problem, but nothing seems to work. After I flashed Resurrection 2.6 sms just stopped working. I flashed stock ICS. Same. I wiped everything I could wipe. I flashed other 3 ICS stock roms. Same problem. Flashed Paranoid Android ROM, now I'm back for the stock. The message Centre nr is correct, I tried *#*#4636#*#* and the SMSC code is correct there as well, but it is still not sending SMS. I am reaching my limit... I don't know what to do! I feel like I have tried everything...

Tried it. Flashed official carrier branded GB. Kies upgraded to ICS official soft. Upgrade worked, but it's still failing every sent text message. Again, checked and the message center number is correct, everything else works perfect, it's like a new phone, but with no possibility to send text messages. I have rooted and installed custom ROMS for years now on so many android phones with no problem, this is just ridiculous...
same problem.....
with go sms i can send messages, with stock message application doesn't work.
And i have succesfully configured the SMSC value
Check your carrier, I've had same exact problem and even went back to Gingerbread and upgraded to ICS officially. My carrier did something, elevate it past the customer service reps.

SOLVED!!!
I solved it! I walked into an Orange Shop and the girl checked their servers and there was a problem from the network. She reset something and then it worked with no problem. It took 2 minutes to solve! I flashed so many roms for nothing. Well, back to AOKP now... I'm happy!

[TXT&PIC MSG Solution found - update][Q] need help on mms problem for unlock at&t

[TXT&PIC MSG Solution found - update][Q] need help on mms problem for unlock at&t
I already search the forum for answer so far i read alot of other people have the same problem for the t959 but no actual working solution was posted, but they were old posts. I want to ask is there any way to fix this problem? My phone is a t959 vibrant unlock for AT&T network, I just got this problem a few day ago, I cannot send text message out at all but can only recieve them. I was currently using phiremod 3.0.1 when this happen I get a small triangle with a exclamation mark to the right of the message, I tried powering the phone off then on, but that didn't fix it. I tried deleting the cache and factory reset the phiremod 3.0.1 that didn't work either. Reflash back to 2.1-update using odin3 it did not work, updated to froyo 2.2 and that does not work. I even try flashing 6 other different custom roms and that didnt help either. I just finish reflashing it back to phiremod 3.0.1 hoping that would had work but it didn't. So now this is driving me crazy and I cant figure out what is the problem. Can any one please tell me the solution for this mms problem?
look at #4 post for my solution
I have a vibrant unlocked on at&t. I can still text. I'm just on rooted kb5.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
i did flash it to a couple of roms with kb5 but still didn't work, only 1 solution i can find is by sending the text as multimedia text, by pressing the menu buttom while im text message and choose add cc/bcc. Does any 1 know another solution to this?
My sms/mms solution fix TEXT & PIC MESSAGE FIX
OK so after alot of research, a lot of rom flashing i couldn't fix my vibrant text messaging, but i just figure it out today around roughly a few hours ago.
MY REAL WORKING SOLUTION
For some reason the vibrant is some what defective cause the message center number get earse or something like that. I notice it awhile ago after i flash the vibrant with a custom rom call revamped SS3, look at the bottom of this post for the link of the rom i use and a list of compatible roms for the vibrant t959 3g. What I did was use AIO vibrant toolbox to flash revamped SS3 then open up message by clicking on the icon and press the menu key on the bottom left of your phone and press settings. Now on the settings of message scroll all the way down and click on advance. In advance look for message center and click on it. Delete what ever number is in there, my was 00. Now enter this number in if your AT&T customer +13123149810, make sure you include the + symbol or else the number will not save. press ok to exit and you should/might lose all signal bar. Just reboot your phone and give it a few sec or minute to load then you should be able to text message again + message pictures also picture message takes awhile to send and recieve so just wait a bit. If your not happy with revamped SS3 rom that is ok, you can reflash it back to stock 2.1 eclair or to 2.2 froyo or to any other custom rom, you will still be able to text message and picture message cause the message center info are save in to the phone root dir.
ANOTHER solution is to use a sms/mms app that can let you change the phone number in message center, I dont know any app and if any of you readers do/does please post them up for other users to uses who dont want to flash their phone.
also please bump or tag or what ever to this post to help other vibrant users fix this messaging problem

How did you unlock it though?

Desktop not starting

Hi,
when I reset my Optimus One with VolDown, Power + Home something got messed up and I received a phone where the desktop is not starting any longer.
After the above reset the setup screen appears where I can choose my language etc, but at the last step I get a force close message for the Setup Wizard every single time. When I then force close, the screen goes dark except for the status bar on the top.
After a while the phone autolocks and I can see the lock screen with moving grass and time etc. When I unlock, again the black screen with only the status bar on top.
The phone receives SMS messages and calls and shows the appropriate screen, just no desktop to choose any apps to start. I can even long press home and then get the recent apps screen with no apps to start.
Can someone help me to get my phone functional again?
Thanks.

Yes that would be a good idea if I could enable USB debug. But I cannot get to the settings where I could enable USB debug, therefore ADB push is not a possible option for me.
u can log into your google account on desktop and install any launcher app from playstore , it will automatically get installed on your cell if your data is on.

Thanks again for ur input: But the VolDown Menu Power thing did a complete reset and therefore the phone is completely virgin, i.e. no google account is set-up.
While during initial boot the setup wizard comes up, I get the error message:
"The application Setup Wizard (process.com.android.setupwizard) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
So I cannot setup a google account for this phone.
u may be able to go to contacts screen while on call. there u will have an option to add google account. try this n if this doesn't work try resetting your phone again.
Thank you! That did it! I called myself with another phone and during the call via the menu button I was able to go into the account section and add an account. Then the play store updated (some time is needed for registration to take hold on the play store web site) and then I installed the Go launcher via web install.
After I got access to the launcher, I immediately activated USB debugging in Settings > Application Settings > Development and also install from unknnown sources in Application Settings.
I wrote these details so that people with the same problem of corrupted launcher or setup wizard know what to do.
BTW before I tried numerous phone resets but none solved the problem.
Now I still have the following problem: To root a reset is suggested to have a clean file system. A reset however again gives me the above problem. How can I break that vicious cycle?
Again, thanks a million for your help.

No need of reset or so, just root and install clockworkmod recovery via ROM manager app, choose optimus 1 old baseband even if u r on new coz the recovery for old baseband is much more stable.
NOTE:-
do not choose to boot into recovery from ROM manager,u might end up at emergency mode. instead use the key combo to enter into recovery.
don't choose to factory reset from phone menu once u have installed custom recovery, instead do that from recovery.
Thanks, hephappy's ICS CM9 is running well now.
There is only one problem, possibly because I did not get your advice about old baseband in time: Cannot make or receive calls/texts, but I am being asked for SIM PIN and the phone shows the carrier ID in notifications.
My phone has the 20d baseband - is that the problem? Do I need to upgrade to 20g or would that not matter?
Regards,
Binser
OK, I flashed the 20G baseband and the problems are now history. I can make an receive calls.
There was a problem when flashing: The phone did not reboot into recovery mode. I had to do that manually and disable the LG modem. Then when the process was done I the phone showed 20G baseband, but no IMEI and network. I solved that by using the saved NV2 file in a subdirectory of the LGMDP.exe and the NV Restore button on the program icon bar.
Now everything is fine.
Again, thank you for your help.
