Classic BIOS Boot Animation [720x1280] - Galaxy Note II Themes and Apps

So there is this BIOS bootanimation floating around, I've converted it for the SGN2 as many others have done for their own devices.

Notes:
It's not flashable, I don't know how to make those.
I'm not responsible for damage etc, use at your own risk.
As with any modification, make a nandroid backup if you aren't 100% sure if it will work
Please help each other with getting it to work on other ROMS! I have only tested on CleanROM ACE!
Taking Requests:
If you have a different SGN2 model/carrier, I will make a custom version!
If you have a different sized internal/external sdcard, I will make a custom version!
If you are overclocked, I will make a custom version!
I will also make custom versions for other adjustments. Just let me know the changes you want!
See the defaults list below.
Details:
By default the bootanimation, unless otherwise requested, will now come as this:
New Logo
No End Animation (to keep it simple and more true to a BIOS boot!)
No "Have a nice day!"
1600MHz
N7100
ROM labeled as "CUSTOM"
16gb sdint storage
64gb sdext storage
Quick Guide:
Not guaranteed because of ROM & Kernel set-ups and/or limitations!
Download your choice of bootanimation_xxxx.zip, rename to bootanimation.zip and place in /system/media/bootanimation.zip. *Change bootanimation.zip group permissions. Reboot and hope your ROM+Kernel has made it easy for you!

I was going to replace the top right logo with something simple, but Note II related, but couldn't think of anything

What ROM are you on? And do you have a kernel installed that supports bootanimations.zip's?
This bootanimation is pretty much universal for all SGN2 ROM's assuming the ROM has a Kernel supporting bootanimation.zip format
I am unsure of other methods of making it work, but there's probably a few choices.

I've read conflicting reports that Perseaus does and does not support bootanimation.zip's so I don't have a direct answer
I added a guide to the first post that is supposed to add bootanimation.zip support to any ROM with any Kernel, I have not tested it though! Make a nandroid backup if you are willing to test

im on perseus kernel and omega v12 and its working flawlessly
did u put the correct permission??
for those who does not know what to do :
u had to rename to bootanimation then move to /system/media and set permission to rw-r-r

i just created a flashable zip. this is for my personal use but it should work on any GN2 GT-N7100
i tested on TWRP on perseus latest kernel and omegaV12, btw, is GN2 GT-N7100 and it might also work with any recovery.
as always, do a nandroid backup. just in case.
All hardwork/credit belong to seriosbrad
I just make it it flashable
edit 1: for those who still having samsung original boot animation, please flash Custom_Bootanimation_Enabler then only flash the bios bootanimation.
edit 2; i tried to make for N7105, it succesfully flashed but somehow it wont boot into the OS. however, after i flash the N7100, it booted into OS. any N7105 user can try it out?? please make backup b4 trying
edit 3 : flashable zip are compatible with TWRP and cwm.

Added a bunch of new models :highfive:.
Remember, this only means that the images have changed to show your model. Has nothing to do with device compatibility!
Also, still feel free to request changes to the clock speed (MHz) and SDEXT size's if you want something more accurate to your own SGN2.

Then you may need to go to /system/media and delete or rename both files bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg Then copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/bin and rename or delete the file samsungani, then rename the existing file bootanimation to samsungani and it should work

because there are a lot of arc roms here and new stuff draws more attention
Finally some new faces around... nice job mate!
P.S. 1:
Do i need xRecovery or CWM to install this?
Can i install this on my HTC WildFire?
Is Microsoft DotNet_3_5.apk & Microsoft DirectX 9 included in this rom?
Does camera has work in 8 MPix? & Can i take photos in dark?
Can i return to stock if i wanna?
Thanks!
P.S. 2:
So it is not stock becouse stock rom doesn't have arc launcher or xRecovery, right?

2. Yes, if you can port it
3. Sure, but not now, you will have setup pack but can't run on this ROM
4. Camera fully working. Try to take a picture without LED in dark, you will see the different: ALL BACK
5. Ya, you can, this is Stock based ROM but not Stock ROM so you can return to Stock ROM from this Stock based ROM
6. Hehe, it's not cause it is stock based ROM as you read at 5. and you can sure that this is not Stock ROM cause this is Stock based.

EDIT: Also silveraero, you should put some instructions in the op on how to flash this and a changelog. something like this.
To install ROM
1. Put the update.zip onto the root of your sdcard
2. Boot into XRecovery
3. Factory reset wipe data/cache, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats
4. Go to install update.zip and select yes or go to install custom .zip and choose from sdcard and tthen scroll down to update.zip and select yes
5. Wait for install finished
6. Reboot
7. Enjoy
And for changelog
---------V1 CHANGELOG--------
Tweaks added for "whatever you tweaked"
added arc timescape widget
Added DooM Kernel v3XS
Removed "whatever apps or stuff you removed"
Something like that so people know what you have done and also for these noobs to be able to flash your rom
Also add a bugs section to.
Looking very promising will 100% flash tomorrow and leave feedback been a while im on the same rom so some changes wouldn't hurt lol im sure it's really good or atleast i hope so

So far everything was ok just that adding sd card hack would be really helping as waiting for gallery to load pic was a real pain in teh @$$ and adding the stock calculator ? Not all live wallpapers are there so maybe have a look at that + had to reflash my backup because i dragged the bar in setcpu and setonboot was checked so couldn't do anything else anyway to take that off for others ?
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
But overall i loved how smooth was it and the s.e look and found a bug in contact tried importing from sdcard the screen became darker but nothing happened i hitted home key and it was fine later on rebooted and my contacts where imported and battery life didn't look good emptied charged to 100 wiped stats and it was drawing pretty fast alot of work but loved this rom thanks

I'm currently testing it, but a friend is trying to download it but MediaFire is showing Error Downloading.
Thank you so much for your great contribution
I will add tweaks today. Please wait until I come back home.
About contacts import, I have no problem when import it. It.maybe caused by some problem, like another, applicatiins can force close any time.
For battery life, I use setCPU to limite CPU speed.when screen turn off and when I sleep. But it is goos on my phone. Maybe it is different on other phone. Try battery calibration, charge you phone and use it for many times and see if this can solve

Ok I will add Calculator and live wallpapers here. About SetCPU, sime device can't monitor the frequency higher than 1152MHz. You should extract the safemode zip from SetCPU before changing frequency. (Menu>safemode instruction???)

[APP] ICS Dialer v3.1 "The Original" [01/04/2012]

I have created a clone of the ICS dialer built off of the stock Contacts.apk & Phone.apk in the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II (2.3.6) UCKK6. As you can see from the screen shot it looks very much like the ICS Dialer, a great compliment to your ICS launcher and Icons.
*Note* Your tabs will reflect your roms theme for tabs. You will however get the ICS tab icons and ICS Icon on every rom.
The file (v3.1) will work on the any 2.3.6 ROM for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II. It WILL NOT work on roms such as AOSP, CM7, or any ROM or Theme that has modified the Contacts.apk, Mms.apk, or framework. I am working on porting to other ROMs. If all fails, give it a shot and lmk if it works.
I am not responsible for any damage done to your device and you are responsible for the use of this file.
The files in this post are for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II ONLY!
I do not own the AT&T version therefore it is a bit harder for me to test some things, I do however have access to one for testing.

Thanks and enjoy! Many hours went into creating this and updates are planned.
I am learning and doing this stuff for fun and personal use and I will not ask for a donation but if you wanted to donate you have that option as it is totally optional. DONATE
*NOTICE* If you want to use this dialer in your rom, please give proper credit. This also pertains to using files inside my dialer to create your own version for another theme, rom, or device.
THANKS!
Looks great, but it doesn't work (with either method of installing; flashing or manually replacing it). It doesn't appear in the app drawer. So, I tested to see if another app could access it (e.g., messaging), and it couldn't. Messaging force closed upon attempting an action that required this apk. I went back and replaced it with my backup, my device (via a folder organizer notification), indicated that a new app was installed. It wasn't recognizing this apk. Hope you get it fixed. Looks amazing.
I think I have the wrong file or something went wrong compiling this one. Previous version worked great, I may need someone to test.

Ok this is very strange. I literally had someone standing rite in front of me flash both versions and both worked.
If you could, please try the apk route by replacing the app in /system/app and let me know how that works out.
Is this the Theme?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302629
The thing about themes is you have to be careful because they sometimes mod the contacts.apk or mms.apk for the dialer etc and could also modify the framework in which this case it would not work. I am changing the OP to say only works with stock roms for now until i support others.
Thanks!

Talk to Overstew about it but I would wait until the Theme is further along and converted to more ICS stuff. It wouldn't be a hard port but it would need to be dedicated to stock or one rom.

Overview
This rom combines the style of the Xperia UI while removing the bloat that Sony shovels along with it to provide an experience unmatched! Only the best of Xperia features have survived in my purge of Sony's firmware This rom is to be installed on STOCK Sony F/w Only ! (ie, 6.1.1.B.1.10, 6.1.1.B.1.54, or 6.1.1.C.1.0 ) Depending on the base firmware, you might encounter bugs as such and not directly related to the rom (Yes, Im referring mostly to the broken tethering in B.1.54 )

Installation Instructions
Stock ICS Rom (With no Rooted edits/Mods) : Flash zip via CWM ( Factory Reset.etc is automatically taken care of )
Stock ICS Rom With Mods or Custom Rom : Flash Stock FTF, and then flash with CWM
For Devices running a custom Kernel, Please flash CustomKernelSupport.zip via CWM before booting! Note: This zip file only makes sure there is no clashes, etc and doesnt allow running a Custom Kernel On a Bootloader-Locked Device Also, Install the Kernel & the stock FTF first, before you flash the ROM & CustomKernelSupport else you might lose Root access.Im looking into a fix for this now, but till then, I believe you can just reroot it with Bin4ry method ( or alternatively, reinstall again in the order I just gave)
If you are getting "Cant access tmp/recovery.log" or something similar in CWM every time you select an option, Just Wipe Cache.. A bit stupid really, the origin of the problem. My script automatically wipes Cache. But since CWM isnt getting the order directly from user,It keeps looking for files there lol ( No data will be lost just maybe 2-3 seconds more for next boot lol )

Addons Package
The Addons Package contains the following mods which I recommend you do install. However, I want this ROM to be fast and simple, while allowing customization options for the end-user. For this reason, I have included these mods as an Additional zip which is an optional Install.
Just flash via CWM and Reboot! You can flash directly after installing the rom or later after booting it up

Hints For Better Performance/Battery
There isnt much to post here since I already included most of them in the rom itself But here goes!
1) Go to Settings>Development Options and Change Animation and Transition Speed to 0.5x
2) Download NoFrills CPU Control and change Governor to Lulzactiveq and Scheduler to SIO. Tick the 'Set On Boot' Option
Hotfixes/ Bugs List
[*]"Cant access tmp/recovery.log" or similar error in CWM - Just Wipe Cache once and the issue will be resolved ! Cant be automated in the zip. Sorry guys !
[*]For users who lost root, either via using Custom Kernel or updating the Su Binary - Just open Superuser, swipe left and check if the Binary you have is 3.1.1 or some other version. If it is NOT 3.0.3.2, we got a probem, so just copy the file "su" from system/xbin folder in my Rom zip file and paste it in the same directory on your phone (overwrite if necessary) with permission 777 and issue will be resolved. Note : Same applies for Locked Bootloader in case Root issues arise. The Latest su binary has issues which is why I included a tested and working Su instead
[*]Nothing else So Far.. Comment on thread or message me if you get anything!
PS : If you are about to install, Preferably flash the custom kernel first, then the stock ftf (while excluding Stock Kernel ofc ) followed by my Rom,then the CustomKernel Support and optionally, the Addons Package No need to clear data.etc when flashing any of my zips. .They do that themselves But in case, you get any errors when starting recovery, just Wipe Cache (No data will be lost, Dont worry) and it will be solved

Yeah it works fine on any F/w You need to flash that zip after installing rom if you're using a kernel like Munjeni's which is not stock.
Awesome
Looks nice. What if I don't like the charging and boot animations though? How do I get them to default?

Ah then you got the wrong hint This Antutu score was obtained on a Bootloader Locked Xperia U running my ROM and it was clocked at 1GHz Hence me specifically stating : "I think very few U's can get an Antutu score of 7398 without Overclocking" To overclock, you need a Custom kernel like Munenji's.. Cant be done with Stock

I see. I have an unlocked bootloader and I'm about to try it out. Just finished reflashing stock ftf and I'm going to use munjeni's CWM Touch Recovery w/ Mem Tweak to install this, will it be okay?
Pretty sure cause I havent touched Kernel at all in this But make sure to apply the CustomBootloaderSupport zip file before booting into the rom to remove the Governors in this rom. Else they will conflict with the Kernel and cause issues ! Let me know how it works out
To remove the governors? What will I lose without them then? Oh btw, do you also have the custom add-ons on your XU as well when you took the benchmark result? I'm thinking of adding them, although I'm not sure if all of them are good.
Munjeni's Kernel has Governors inbuilt in them so they would clash with the Governors made by AnDyX ( the ones in my rom). So when you are gonna flash unlocked bl, Flashing that zip will remove the Governors to avoid conflict. But you wont be able to tell the difference in them,Dont worry
And to state Simply, A Governor is in charge of what clockspeed your CPUs run at.. When load is less, Governor might decide to lower the cpu speed to save battery.etc Different Governors behave differently wrt to the situation hence you can select the Governor of your choice
The Benchmark was taken with Addons package, although at a different time (hence the different clock times, Dont want anyone to raise questions later lol ) And its easy enough to remove any Addon in that package so its not an issue If you dont like any one of them, just let me know which one and Ill make you a zip to remove it Alternatively, all those mods can be found somewhere or the other on XDA itself So just search and add the ones you like instead I just made them into 1 zip to reduce time and also a few little edits to declutter it all
Nah, it'll be alright. Can't wait to try it out, booting time is taking quite a while atm after recently installing munjeni's cwm and doing a reformat. Will tell you the results later if I still can. Thanks for answering the questions btw

ok mate Have fun And no worries Feel free to ask me qns. here on Thread or via PM
Done flashing! Not getting any problems with it atm, followed the guide correctly. Looks smooth, I got a benchmark score of 7191 w/ the add-ons. I had a 5k+ on my prev rom. I hope I won't be needing to look for another rom for a long time .
Edit: I want to install and use Root Explorer and Titanium Backup, however I can't use both because it can't get root access. I am seeing superuser on my phone and flashtool says it is rooted. I dunno how to solve this, I need to restore stuff using T.Backup .___.
Great to hear Glad you liked it mate Suggestions and feedback welcome

[MOD][TW][AOSP][ROOT][8-19-13] Boot Animations, Boot Sounds, Volume Increase Mod

I have searched around for awhile and find it difficult to get a custom boot animation for a TouchWiz based ROM. It is because Samsung does not use the usual bootanimation.zip, but uses the .qmg format. So I decided to create some.
DISCLAIMER
I am not responsible for any bricked or broken devices. Though I do not believe one can be caused by this kind of mod, it is always suggested to have a NANDROID backup. All rights' go to original creators of the boot animations. I simply made them so that they can work on TW 4.2.2 AND now some on 4.3 based ROMS.
All files can be found here: http://d-h.st/users/Tylorw1/?fld_id=0#files from now on. As users pm and ask for them I'll upload them.
I9505/I337(m) and I9500 are for TW Based ROMS.
Instructions:
Flash The ZIP file in recovery. Simple as that. If you happen to have a different boot animation then ones listed, I will be happy to make you one of the ROM you are using to restore your ROMs boot animation.
GIFs are not REAL quality, just a preview. 720p is HD, 1080p is Full HD, so 720p Animations may be a little blurry.

It isnt really, I just toned up Bluetooth volume a tab bit more, and made the speaker volume a better number so there is no chance of blowing out the speaker. So there is nothing really different. You can change the values inside of it too as you wish using notepad++ and just rezipping and flashing.

I'm sorry if this isn't the exact location to ask this question, but I've read multiple threads concerning customizing boot animations on my Galaxy S4.
Unfortunately I've managed to wind up with a black screen upon bootup also without sound. Not necessarily a bad thing, mind you, but it wasn't my original intention.
I've tried flashing one of the attachments to this thread to no avail. At this point I'm just trying to start from scratch and restore whatever was on my phone originally.
Does anybody have any ideas where I could find original stock versions of the bootanimation BIN file and the bootanimation.zip file for an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4???
More info: running stock Rom 4.2.2 rooted with Motochopper and I use TWRP.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Did you flash a zip called something like "CWM-4.2.1-bootanimation-enable.zip"? If so, whereever you got the zip from ,they should be a disable zip able to be flashed as well. I am looking for the thread right now.
Found it. Delete the bootanimation.zip first in /system/media, make sure there are two files in /system/media called bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg, and flash this: http://d-h.st/YgF. Let know know if this does the trick

First of all, I really truly appreciate your respondinging to me. It shows you care and that alone is worth my posting in this forum.
Secondly, I am nearly positive I DID flash a file that had a similar name to that, but despite my noobery, I don't think I'd flash something with "CWM" in the title given I use TWRP (although I don't think it matters which flash tool I use).
So I was extremely excited to read your suggestion. Unfortunately it did not prove successful. I completely removed the file you mentioned, confirmed the existence of the other two, flashed the file you provided via link, and still have a black screen upon bootup (after the Samsung custom logo).

These versions are based on the XWMS1 Firmware with the stock kernel.
Everything is original so no added applications and no applications deleted.
These Roms are mentioned for people who want their original system back without the risk of bricking through odin or getting the yellow triangle.
The fully original version is the Odexed if you are going to bring your phone back to samsung repair service or going to sell it.
I just extracted the rom cause i didn´t saw anywhere that the roms(XWMS1) are uploaded without modifications.
I Tested all the roms if everything works and or it bricks your phone.
If your phone got softbricked (Repairable with odin) or a war has started it isn´t my fault.

that's right sometimes we just need to get back to stock without increasing that binary counter, personally i prefer switching between NeatROM & Odexed Rooted version so i guess Your Odexed version will be flashable via CWM ?
second question is, do we need gapps for Stock Sammy ROMs ?

i am now uploading the only deodexed version i accidently switched the links from odexed and deodexed cause it was late
Edit: i tested the roms but there could be also maybe some corrupted apk if you find one then report it and i wil make an update zipfile containing the corrupted one
Did anyone founded an app crashing in one version or is everything working then i get no response
can someone test the lighter version of the Xwms1 deodexed rom.
Because my pc crashed i lost the files cause its all corrupted on ubuntu.
If someone would need it then i could redo it all versions but then i need a beta tester cause i am going to sell my galaxy s2

And if i make new versions would you guys like to have again rooted/deodex deodexed and odexed?
Also which hosts do you want Google Cloud or Mega.
If i have made new versions then i need someone to test it then i wil post it if someone want to test it

Downloading now. It wil take an hour but i will try to make it today or tomorrow.
I will send you a message and post beta links here for people who want to test it if there are no crashes.
Edit:
I just repacked it with dsxida and uploaded it here for the best download speed.

can someone test it and report it because i cant test it anymore cause my device is sold.
If this one works then i will also upload the other ones and replace the xwms1 here above since it isnt really good with the links i dont know what went wrong or why nobody reacted on that.

Please someone test this Deodexed version:
https://mega.co.nz/#!s5gmAJ5J!BKtGgFGbxy1QqGT4nwJyBJf-tZ66QpKFv_8pd531rVg
Deodexed/rooted/busybox version:
https://mega.co.nz/#!gt5SlLqZ!jTK-J2b5NftkA4nyAqpd5E7JssHrPXY6bQollDU0HXs
If these 2 will also work then i will update the thread with the new xwms3 and remove the old xwms1 cause something failed in there

Thank you my friend. I still didnt had much time to make a drive with ubunto to try out the kitchen you recomended. I have good news i was able to finish my degree in economics hehee. Now searching for a good job .
Well in a zip the kernel but perhaps now is not necessary since you rooted i had to flash a new kernel to have it right. It works very well with Dorimanx .
