Hey guys, i know im new here so please bare with me. My phone: fascinate. Running on PWGB with tksgb 10/27, vm heap 48, andrel shot ix, auto mem killer.
I try to set the callboost but unable to get it to set up. Im using Better terminal pro.
$ us
$ callboost enable
Plug in 2,0,0,0 "enter"
In-call boost values set.
Mount: permission denied (are you root?)
Boot script could not be installed!
Displaying current setting...
So, that is the message im getting.
I have root explore. Looked under system, etc, init.d (mount r/w)..
No 91callboost or 05zram folders. So i create 2 new folder inside init.d.
One for callboost, one for zram.
Restart,
Tried again
Same result..
What else can i do.. Ive tried all the step From this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1279153
From pages 54-57. Ppl tried different thing, i also tried them but still cant get it to work.
Even tried mkdir -p /etc/init.d from terminal.. I get:
Mkdir failed for -p, File exists.
What does that mean??
inside init.d folder i saw the script for my voltage scheduler, or boot setting but i do not see any script(s) for callboost or zram. So i know it did not get created from terminal.
Thanks

Why are you typing "us" ?. You should be typing "su". That's why permission is denied

Thanks for looking out guys.
Feel good to get pass this little issue.
Ive mustve spend 3days searching google for callboost, zram. It was like reading a different languages. Root terminal? I keep thinking, wtf is root terminal or how the hell do i access it.
Youtubed it, someone had a vid of them using the terminal app from market. Thats when it started to make sense.
I hated the low incall volume. Love the rom and kernel though. Now its perfect. Volume is loud again. Zram set!
Running smooth.
iam new but always read a lot of threads here i want some help
i am trying to setup openvpn installer and settings in my coderom v2x2b
i tried to to install it without reading any guide first and installed it in
system/bin/openvpn
but now i read a guide somewhere like this
install openvpn installer and the binaries..
to install:
-run openvpn installer using file explorer
step:
- click install >choose /system/xbin/ > choose /system/xbin/bb
-check this directory if installation successfull: /system/xbin/openvpn
instal busybox
-open the application and click install.
-wait and check directory: /system/xbin/busybox or /system/bin/busybox <-- it(busybox) should be there.
now my problem is i dont knw about busybox but i searched it and its installed in
sbin/busybox <<< their is the file name busybox nowhere else
where it is required in system/xbin
and other i already installed openvpn in
system/bin/openvpn which also needs to be in system/xbin
i tried uninstalling openvpn but binary still remains their

I want to add a zipalign script to my rooted odex stock rom KK2, I've got the script that most custom roms seem to use 'S70zipalign'.
Am hoping I don't get shot down in flames for this but is it just a matter of having busy box installed and putting the script in the following folder path system/etc/init.d to get it to zipalign my apps on boot
Hello!
I use ROM toolbox pro. Today I enabled its zipalign script, but it warn me there's no zipalgn binary installed on my system. When I search on XDA, I found this thread. But it for Drod X2. So I it OK if I push that binary into /system/xbin directory? If it's not good, then how do I find a suitable binary?
Thanks!
probably will work, just don't forget set chmod 755 after pushed to xbin folder

init.d zipalign Scripts are pretty much universal I've found.
Hey guys, I simply cannot get busybox installed properly. Tried for several days and approaches now but had still no luck to get it up and running.
Here's what I exactly tried yet:
- First of all mounted /system with R/W permission
- Stericson's BusyBox Pro, JRummy's Busybox Installer, BusyboxOnRails, Neo Busybox Installer, amongst others to install and symlink the appropriate applets.
- Free space on /system is 630mb
- No copies of busybox are present in folders /sbin, /system/bin or /system/xbin
- The above mentioned Installers only do copy the file busybox into /data/local folder (used as a temporary directory whilst installation process I can only guess)
- checked with 3rd party app "Root Validator" from Google Play Store for validity: Despite the $PATH variable not being set for busybox, the app also stated something about...
- ... SELinux Enforcement. So I downloaded SELinuxModeChanger from Play Store as well and changed SELinux to permissive mode for testing purposes as I originally thought while analyzing the issue, it could contextually have something to do with the busybox installers not being able to successfully finish their job (symlinking instead of telling me that I should try another location than choosing one of the both default installation paths /system/bin or /system/xbin - but even that had still no impact on completing the install procedure.
- Oh, I tried various busybox versions as well of course.
- One last thing I will and still have to try is to lookup the kernel and logcat logs for some explanation.
Btw another question to the more experienced people in this regard:
It shouldn't be a problem if some paths are present twice in $PATH right?
