Does Jbear work with 64bit windows - HTC EVO 3D

Hello, I know the XDA courtesy of reading before questions but I'm a bit inconvenienced and am from the Amaze forums.
Can I S-OFF an Evo 3D sprint with a 64bit windows 7? I ask because one of the perquisites Jbear say they only support 32bit windows
Also can you flash ROMs without S-OFF?

yes & yes. I used Win 7 64bit myself & you can still flash ROMs w/o S-OFF.

Thanks so much. Mad love from the Amaze forums.

So you are saying it worked to S-OFF wire trick on win 7 64bit? On the website it clearly stated 32bit only, reason for which I have postponed my s-off for a looooong time...

Windows 7 64bit has worked for many people including myself but you won't get support from the unlimited.io staff on their IRC channel if you use it. I did the wire trick on two Evo 3D's before they added the requirement for 32bit.
ramjet73

totally agree i used my 64 bits windows 7 to do the wiretrick

That's a very general requirement. I've done my Amaze using a 64bit. In sure it doesn't apply to us. Thanks for the help guys. I think 3 is enough to say it's good.

I s-offed yesterday my gsm evo 3d on win 7 64 bits. Worked on my 5th try, but it worked, I can confirm it
Sent from my Evo 3D GSM using xda premium

My advice is to use a metronome for the wire trick.
What are the advantages to S-OFF on the 3D On the amaze and the sensation it is that you can flash anything without needing smart flash. Plus superCID and unlocking the Sim.

The RUU .exe files which contain the .zip renamed as PG86IMG.zip are mirrored on XDA also on goo-inside.me. http://www.goo-inside.me/shooteru/ .
Sticky post on the GSM EVO 3D Development board: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208485
Hopefully your RUU version is located in one of the links I provided. If not, you should be able to find on the forum thru searching! Good luck!

I tried that too and it works. Earlier RUU used to fail due to security. It just flashed completely. Thanks

[Q] New to this device, what's first?

Had an OG someone else rooted it.
And now there's htcdev unlock. So what do I do to get S-Off a custom recovery and root?
Dirty raccoon, devunlock, flash recovery then root?

I have a comp running 64 bit Windows 7.
I accepted the new update from 2-1-13 I believe.
I don't know if it will work.
Def not on my windows.
Will it if I install ubuntu using wubi?
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
I used my 64bit windows 7 machine and it worked fine. The team behind the exploit did not test on, nor do they support, 64bit windows platform. But myself and many others have reported success anyway... I understood and acknowledged the risk and did it anyway, and it worked for me.

Wubi just means you will have a dual boot option correct? If that's my understanding then yes it will work as long as you have the 32 bit libs

It's been a while so I don't really remember but you could also burn a Live CD that would work fine http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/burn-a-dvd-on-windows
Figured out how to do it with wubi in 32 bit. And an ubuntu install takes a LONG time.
After I'm done installing it, I can do dirty racun then dev unlock and recovery and flash roms correct?

Can you try something for me?
Hold the volume down and press the power button.
If the hboot screen shows then you can get back to normal usage.
And when/if you get to this screen, tell us what you see.
For example (what mine is):
*** UNLOCKED ***
SHOOTER XC SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.58.0000
RADIO-1.09.00.0706
OpenADSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0217

If you typed that command while already s-off, then yes you are bricked. Windows recognizing your phone as qhs USB_download mode is another sign of Proof. Your only option is to use the ultimate recovery tool from: unknownforce or the other unbricking method that you've already tried. If your PC can't handle a Linux distro, you need to find another PC. I've used both methods and they work flawlessly.
Good luck
