Hi,
My Xperia Pro with ICS 4.0.4 (rooted) sometimes looses the data-connection to the 3G network, and nothing can reestablish the Internet-connection again. No flight-mode or disabling/enabling data connections is bringing it back. The 3G network is fully available and calls can be taken or done. Only thing what works is a device reboot.
Connections over WiFi are never affected and always work (if available).
Can I restart the network on the Shell with a command/Script? Like a networking restart with Ubuntu. I've Seen the ip command, but using it, seems Not to be enough.
So how can I restart network via Shell command?

Im pretty certain this is down to my router (BT Homehub 3), but whenever i connect to the wifi network, after about 10/15 minutes, sometimes 1/2, the down speed halts fully.

I am on stock gb rom, unrooted.
I am using my mobile for one year, but for last two weeks whenever i try browsing web through stock browser or any other browser or using any apps that requiers data connection using Gprs or 3G data connection, my device restarts.
Even with tethering too.
But no problem at all with wifi.
No restarts, nothing.
I tried updating my phone and also factory reset.
But always happens same.

is your driver instaled correctly?
Yes i think they are. Usb tethering aside, When i try using wifi hotspot it connects properly with the laptop, signal strength also shows excellent but there is still the 'no Internet access' pop up on the laptop. I have also switched on mobile data and 3G

Wifi tethering is broken in the ICS stock ROM for most (if not all) Xperia devices . I've been trying various custom ROMS for my Xperia Active today but just encounter other issues (e.g. camera doesn't work with PAranoid Android)
Hi, I havnt used the stock ics build, but if u need teathering to work try installin Erachter Rom. I always use portable hotspot and works fine(as long as I have data reception). Not sure about Bluetooth or usb teathering though.

Sometimes when I leave home I forget to turn my WiFi off and it keeps connecting to any open networks wherever i go. I went into the WiFi settings and there are only a few options there and I tried all different combos but i still keep auto connecting. What am I missing?

Under WiFi settings, goto Advanced, and uncheck "Scanning Always Available", by default this is on, even when WiFi is off.

I think I misunderstood your question...if it's actually connecting to the network, it's because at some point you've connected to it before and it's a saved network. Next time it connects to it, go to WiFi settings and forget the network.
