possible MIUI rom ported to MediaPad?
I see MIUI rom on Nexus 7 it's so cool... :crying:
miui nexus 7 ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841208
I've never been a fan of miui roms, they look so much like iphone ui, and all those colored icons and layouts make the device look like a tablet for kids.
if it's even possible to port a rom to the mediapad i prefer something from samsung 7" tablets, the look of touchwiz is really special.
I don't think anyone is working on a MIUI rom. I personally wouldn't want to turn my tablet into a giant phone, since to my knowledge they haven't implemented a tablet UI yet. It seems like there aren't many developers working on ROMs for our device as it is, I say let them work on trying to get HDMI on Jelly Bean instead.
HTC sense from flyer would be great if someone port it

There's a very large library of themes to change the colored icons and menus. Even still, I don't think the default looks at all like the iPhone.
I have MIUI on my phone and absolutely love it. Menus, toggles, drop down/pop-ups are so much cleaner. Would be awesome to have on my tablet too.

Remember when cyanogenmod team brought life back to all our old phones? i was one of the lucky ones to get my HTC WILDFIRE supported by CM. at the same time MIUI pulled the middle finger and said F**K YOU!! we only develop for the the powerul devices.
what's the point of an after-market ROM when it dosn't support devices with few features.
after all, we are still stuck with two CM and AOKP ROMs that are not qualified enough to be used daily! how can we now start on MIUI?
it's useless
i'm sorry but that's the truth :crying: and i'm sad as F**K seeing all other devices on xda having tens of working ROMs.
we need more developers. i'm not one, but i help testing and do all my best to get something working.
huawei published all ics sources long time ago. It doesn't seems that's not helping, we already have an unlocked bootloader by default... pointless complaint imho, we only need interested developers

From my understanding, the T-Mo springboard is a redone Huawei Mediapad. The Springboard here has a very very small userbase, however the mediapad in China (from what I understand) has a much larger base. Given that MIUI is developed in China... I would think that the tablet might get some attention.

Has anyone found a solution to run multi-window, like on the LG G4 or LG V10? I know q-slide a solution was found and also the app drawer downloaded LG launcher. I want to buy this phone but only if I can run two apps at the same time.
Thank You
Everyone
you are aware of the fact LG did not implement it for the LG G5 yet because android N will bring it out of the box?

That's a bad excuse by LG if that's their reasoning. However, I don't really miss the feature, on a phone it's kind of useless.

It is one thing that Android M is gonna bring some features, multi windows included, it is entirely another that it's gonna be implemented across all boards, especially when you look at some heavily skinned UI.
Like, app drawer is a native feature, what about the G5 and the plethora of Chinese smartphones? Adoptable storage? No worries, Android 6 has it. G4? G5? Galaxy S and Note series ?
So, no, it is not a given that we'll have multi windows feature when N comes along. Features are not there until they are, and at the moment, I don't see as to why LG would make us wait so many months until N is out to offer us a proper multi windows solution.
It is like when manufactures release new phones with a outdated Android version and saying "update is coming shortly", sometimes, it is a trimester... We've been to long into this game to get caught time and time again by the same catchphrase.

Has anyone searched the system files to see if it exist in the software just hidden as such?
The Xposed module: XMultiWindow may work for you... I have yet to try it tho, so tread lightly.

I know I'm late but I found dual window in nova activities although it doesn't really work.
I've had my LG-G5 H850 for a few months now.... really hated the LG UI, but managed to get it close to usable with Google Now, etc so I didn't rush into it....
The only thing about the LG ROM that I'm nervous about losing is the LG camera software.... does the dual mode camera and all the manual options (incl RAW photo's, etc) still work in Cyanogenmod / similar?
Which ROMs are people running? I notice that there's still no Cyanogenmod/Mokee build for the G5
Are people just running stock, rooted and debloated?
Custom Roms
Hey
As you already know there are currently no cm roms as of yet but there are 3 custom roms to my knowledge. The current custom roms all use the flagship camera software so your good to go ahead with flashing any one of them.
I doubt Cm will run the flagship flagship camera software and im unaware of any cm camera software utilising the 3 cameras as of yet.
I was a D855(G3) owner for the past 3 years. The Rom development was huge but unfortunately no cm based or aosp based Rom was able to go even close to stock camera quality. LG camera framework was closed coded and LG hasn't shared the code yet. So I guess the same thing will happen to G5. I just hope for more developers to join the G5 community.
I was also on LS990 lg g3 since it's release till coming to g5 and I mainly ran pure AOSP,XenonHD with a few exceptions for some CM-based ROMs... Till I found Fulmics(which was similar to UX 5.0) which was amazing despite missing some features find in AOSP/CM-style ROMs
But I must say I love UX 5.0 with app drawer; I think I'm part of the minority that thinks LG did a great job with their new UI,esp compared to the old UI's...
At this point I wouldn't want to run CM-anything...esp if it means giving up my camera! I mean if u want a circle battery icon that bad just install gravity box... But this UI has grown on me
Any specific custom ROM recommendations?
I was going to follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/recovery-team-win-recovery-project-lg-g5-t3363047
and then CMremix (based on CM-14.1)... I think!! (from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/help/rom-cmremix-rom-v1-xx-t3502055)
And thanks for the info about the LG camera software - it's the one piece of LG software that I've been really happy with - definitely would have looked to keep that, so good to hear that it is being ported as-is into the custom ROMs.
Ever since Samsung "did an Apple" and abandoned all their enthusiasts and tweakers (as Apple did in the 1980's), I've been looking for an alternative like LG!!!
Hi!
Im planning to buy new phone but since the market is so big I have no idea what to choose. I was currently looking to buy the new iphone 7 but due the lack of jailbrakeble software I think I have to continue on android. I have been apple user since beginning until the ip 5 after that I swich to samsung s4 the flagship of that time but it was terrible, I really really hate the touchwiz. After that experience I still gave android another chance and found myself a MIUI device wich was great so I have been miui user for 3 years and I really loved it until they started to price up the phones and not updating the old phones. Now I was thinking the galaxy s7 because of the new feature where you can turn off the app drawer wich is evertything thats wrong with android for my oppinion but still I dont know what to choose. Should I wait for the s8 or take pixcel? I really like if the phone UI is something you can tweak and play with and ofcourse I love the xposed modules and rooting is a must. The budget is not the problem I just need to find a new good phone. Is there anything out there that im missing?
Hope some people have some ideas for me
Thank you!!

I agree! This phone is so easy to root! You would think this phone would be a popular candidate for 3rd party roms because of how cheap and easy it is to root! ZenUI is garbage. I so long for a clean version of Android for this phone. The two line clock on the lock screen drives me up the wall! What pisses me off most is how there is no option to change that. I tried using 3rd party lock screens, but the finger print reader always forces the ZenUI lock screen over them. its so hugely annoying! Make some roms for this phone!

Yes...
We need developers...
I don't think there will be much support for this phone. It's not much different from the Zenfone 3, is far more expensive and is quickly being replaced with the Zenfone 5 launching next week.
The good news is that Asus is very good with software updates so you're hardly in a bad spot.
6 months to release Oreo I hardly call "Very good" when it comes to updates. This is coming from someone who lived with Nexus devices since the Nexus One that got immediate updates and rejected the Pixel devices do to cost and the apparent removal of the Headphone jack on the Pixel 2. I bought this device hedging on the community support of the Zenfone 2 and 3. ZenUi is ugly and the sooner I find a way running pure Android on it the better!
I will say this though, I have looked in making my own LineageOS ROM from source. All I have done was to download the LineageOS source code as there is not much info on how to make a ROM for an unsupported device. All I understand is that I somehow need to download the ZE554KL Kernel from the Asus support website and somehow add that with the LineageOS source code before compiling it into a ROM for it to work. But no one on the XDA Discord tells me how to do that.
It kind of pisses me off how all phone manufactures have more than enough resources to release pure Android for their devices as a secondary option to their mainstream ROMs. After all, pure Android is what they get when Google releases a new version before they start adding their junk, crapware and ****ty UI's over it. It's too bad Google does not make it part of their device approval process to allow Google apps on the device that also mandates the manufacture must also release a pure version of Android for that device as a secondary option for a user to install on their device.
any updates on that?
We need a customized ROM! Please someone can develop, give me a light people
Can somebody make any custom ROM, this phone stuck on Oreo. At least some AOSP android 10.
